H&N Baracuda Magnum Pellets, .177 Cal, 16.36 Grains, Domed, 200ct

This is a well made and uniform pellet.

The pellet may not be at fault. It simply will not work in the Benjamin Discovery rifle with the standard 1 in 10" twist rifling of its barrel.

This rifle was fitted with the standard barrel and also a Lothar-Walther Match barrel of 1 in 12" rifling. Neither of these would stabilize this pellet. There were no groups formed, just wild flyers in every direction. Both barrels were accurate with numerous other pellets, and the match barrel would put almost anything into less than 1/2" (some a lot less) with the same impact point of nearly a dozen different pellets. The point is, the gun and barrel demonstrated wonderful accuracy and consistent pellet placement regardless of the ammo in most cases. This heavy and long offering from H&N however, was too long for the twist rate of either barrel. (The heavier but much shorter Eun Jin 16.3g gave 3/8" 5-shot groups at 25 yards.)

Well made and no deformities in the entire tin.

I bought the to see how a Benjamin 397p would handle them. Not very well. 1/2 in. groups @ 12 yards. 6-8 in. groups @ 30 yards.
I bet this pellet would perform well in a PCP. It is a long pellet.

These did wonders for my Gamo Bull Whisper Extreme. I bought that rifle when I thought velocity was the most important factor in choosing an air gun. I have since learned different but it meant that my Gamo just pretty much sat in the closet with nothing to do, until I bought these pellets. They really tame the velocity back and boy to they hit with authority! Squirrels are no match for these pellets in my Bull Whisper. I really couldn't be much happier with these pellets.

SCREW ON LID!

There is not screw on lid soooo.... You have been warned.

Screw on Lid. Might dump the pellets out and take the label off the Tin and use it for other pellets that do not have a nice screw on lid

Horrible pellet in my Talon SS .177. Was looking for Heavy pellets to shoot past 50 yards with and the Barracuda Magnum is not it. In my rifle I got 10" spread at 30 yards. The 16g Eun-Jin pellets shoots .5 to .75 inch groups at 30 yards and 1 inch groups at 80 yards. You might find that they shoot well in your rifle but they where an abomination in mine.
