10 of 12 Hatsan Air Cylinder, Fits Hatsan Reviews
I purchased this air cylinder so I wouldn't have to carry with me a scuba tank. Exact fit and wish I had purchased one before now.
Things I Would Have ChangedWish someone made a carry pouch for the air cylinder.
Exact fit as original cylinder.
Fit and finish of this product is as advertised. The air cylinder was delivered to my door charged with air. I like the (new style) fill hole cover, a big improvement from the plug type cover on the old cylinder.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing
This makes owning a .25 cal version of my Hatsan AT44-10QE worthwhile for shooting without need of a pump or tank in the field. Easy to use and install, it gives one twice the shots as you would ordinarily have.
Things I Would Have ChangedThe gauge needs to be re-engineered as both of mine read a bit low compared to my tank gauges and the squawky sound that eminates from this cylinder while being filled. Just an annoyance.
What Others Should KnowFor the price point of Hatsan PCPs having a spare air cylinder is worth while!!
Being able to swap out air tubes in the field (like people do with co2 cartridges) is better than pumping in the forrest. Being able to separate shooting and pumping, plus not needing to carry a tank or pump is great and all manufacturers should make spare cylinders available imo. The concept mostly works but it isn't perfect.
Things I Would Have ChangedChanging out cylinders won't save time over refilling from a scba tank. I get 30% fewer shots with the spare cylinder I bought from PA than the stock one that came with the gun for some reason... Hatsan cylinders are expensive but they use lower quality brass parts. They should at least use stainless steel. It won't take much damage to ruin the seal when constantly unscrewing the cylinders over time. After spending a little time with my AT44 Tact QE , I think the $90 would be better spent by going towards a scuba or scba tank. Unscrewing these tanks is sufficiently annoying that I choose to pump instead of switching cylinders at home. The cylinders are heavy and add weight to an already heavy gun. I would pay for a lighter carbon fiber option. The design is poor. Nobody likes the position of the gauge. It's hard to read in low or medium light. The machining on the fill port is careless with rough edges that can damage O rings.
What Others Should KnowIMO, consistency is a requirement of quality in the airgun world and I don't see that here. There is no reason why I should get fewer shots with the replacement cylinder than with the stock one. I know Hatsan is a budget brand but I think they should still aim for their products being functional and consistent or it is a false economy.
Once my carbon fiber SCBA tank arrives, I will probably never use my spare cylinder again. I will stick with the 40 shot stock cylinder and extend it's life by not wearing out the delicate brass fittings with constant unscrewing.
Even though I don't care for the design or quality, mine does hold air (at least for now) and it's good to have the option of a spare. I have a feeling I will need it some day.
If you hunt in the woods and use a pump, this option is worth considering. I would suggest the mini carbon fiber tank instead if you can afford it.
i like the fact that you can bring these with you when your hunting for a fast refill on the spot wasting no time when you need it in a hurry. also you don't have to carry a big tank to slow you down when you walking in the woods. These make is very easy and fast to replace your empty cylinder just by unscrewing the empty and screw in the full one. Great idea, works well.
Things I Would Have Changednothing to change
What Others Should KnowIf your a hunter, this is the way to go instead of carrying tanks, pumps or whatever you use to refill you pcp. Less weight to carry. Or if you want a great fast refill when your in the mood to be shooting with your friends and more shooting time and less time refilling, this is the way to go. These are great for that. Great and easy idea and it works well.
air capacity and design.
Things I Would Have Changedthe valve spring is too small and weak.the metal is of low quality.mine was deformed after a year of use although filled at recommended level of less than 200 bar.i wrote hatsan company about this but still they did not reply.
What Others Should Knowthis air tank is a little bit heavy.the metal used is of low quality and i don't know i got a lemon.
MORE shooting!!! the .22 Hatsan AT44PA i have gets about 30 full power shots per topped off tank. if you're considering the Hatsans the longer guns have a larger cylinder (230ci over 180ci) so may get 40 or more full power from each, but i sure can't fault the accuracy, hitting quarter size targets at 40 yds. carrying the second cylinder means 60 full power shots and its lighter than a scuba tank!!
Things I Would Have ChangedQuality Control!!!! the cylinder that came in my Hatsan AT44PA was perfect, but this one arrived with assembly damage on the brass valve body (the part that screws into the gun!!!), including severely rounded wrench flats and brass shavings all over the valve body. Pyramyd immediately sent me a return authorization and replaced it, with another damaged one. am in process of sending the second one back now, three weeks lost but Pyramyd is standing behind their products!! kudos to Pyramyd, and lets hope 3rd time's the charm!! i will happily re-rate this when i get a good one
What Others Should KnowCHECK those brass valve bodies!! brass doesn't bend, it fractures, and with 3000PSI behind it, that could make for a very bad day!!!!
I bought this to use on the Hatsan ATP1 pistol and, while it is LONGER than the original it furnishes me extra VOLUME and fits otherwise perfectly. It also came in charged and ready to install.
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing.
What Others Should KnowCan be used on the AT-P1 pistol without modification.

Exact replacement. Works like original. This is my spare and is unregulated. My original has been regged. Using JSB 18.13 I have tuned for 900fps with the new one which is almost exactly the same as my regged cylinder shoots CPUM's. Both shoot same POI out to 30 yards. Haven't tested further out. I'm happy - it does exactly what I want. 30 shots regged and another 25 unregged. I will not be regulating the new cylinder
Things I Would Have ChangedNada!
What Others Should KnowThe brass thread protector cap is not a degasser.
