All three calibers are ideal for dispatching garden pests, popping paper targets or flipping spinners. The gold trigger is simply icing on the cake!

I was torn between this, a marauder, or a hatsan flash. I made a good choice. This rifle is a tack driver at 25 yards. It's way quieter than a Springer and I've owned 3 springers. Power it will go through a 3/4 sheet of plywood or for the hunters it will go slam through a squirrel with h and n terminators.

    Nothing

For those who want a light rifle get a flash those who want a tack driving, powerful beast of a rifle this is it. Also mine prefers from 13.65 gr pellets to 18.1 gr pellets doesn't care for over 20 gr so I'd try some out when ordering it new.

Glad to see a happy customer of this gun I just ordered the long, it's a 2 week back order in 177 that's all we can get in IL. Looks like you got yours in March unless you just gave your review than.

Before I bought the Hatsan .25 long I chatted with their online help. I was looking for something that would take care of the critters tearing up my lawn. I was thinking about a Marauder but after talking with their online help I settled on the Hatsan AT-44. They were very knowledgable. The estimated delivery was about a week away, on a Friday but the rifle arrived several days early. It seems very well-made. I had to order some pellets and an air adapter so it took a day or two before I could try it out. I mounted a BSA scope on it. The Weaver mounts will only fit where there are grooves in the top of the dove tail. This scope would fit in only one place and one mount interfered with the magazine. Sanding a few thousandths off one side opened up the clearance and the issue is solved. I fired a few shots and was surprised by how quiet it is. I've only had time to adjust the scope slightly so I can't yet comment on the accuracy.

List the part number for the air quick connect adapter. I don't like the gauge location where you need to practically look down the barrel to read it. Enclose some pellets. I ordered some at the same time and it took a week longer to get them. The air fill probe should have a cover to keep it clean.

The manual is generally poor. It doesn't cover all versions of the AT-44. It doesn't talk about changing the air cylinders. A de-gasser is enclosed but no instructions for it.
I've had two pellets in the chamber after loading the magazine and the first didn't fire. I think this is a user issue but should have been covered in the manual.
Although I've listed several things I'd like changed, this is an impressive rifle and Pyramyd's service has been great..

This is a beautiful and well made gun. At 35 feet I am shooting groups much smaller than a dime. I am looking forward to shooting it longer distances in the future. The stock is a fine piece of walnut and the finish is even and flawless. The blueing on the barrel and air cylinder is very good. Magazines for this rifle are also not too expensive, which I think is a plus.

The pistol grip of the stock has some nice checkering, but I would like to see some on the bottom and sides of the forearm. It is hard to get a good grip on this rifle to pick it up once it has been leaning against something. There are several articles on the internet (including youtube how to's) to remove the "pinging" in the air cylinder. There is a simple fix for this problem and I don't understand why Hatsan doesn't just do it at the plant.

This air gun is a big bang for the buck. I think it is a excellent value for the money. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent quality PCP
at a bargain price. Mine is the QE Long version in .22 caliber

    Quiet, dead accurate, reliable.

I think the trade-offs are exactly right for this rifle. It's a little heavy, but it's dead accurate and quiet-- the latter are my priorities.

I have it zeroed in with this scope: UTG 3-12X44 30mm Compact Scope, AO, 36-color Mil-dot, Rings. It's one shot one kill every time.

My first PCP air gun. Still trying to figure out the sweet spot and the right pellets. Built nice. The wood stock is great. The action is nice and smooth. The 10 round mags are great too, easy to use.

It's heavy. I see why the synthetic versions are so popular. It's pretty long even in the short version with the QE on the barrel. Of course if the gun pumped itself that would be nice.

It's not easy to get accuracy after 40 yards. I probably need a regulator to get the accuracy out to 50 yards. It's quiet enough for the back yard at 125 BAR. It's pretty loud above that and I had 7 grain JSBs cracking the sound barrier at 200 BAR.

    Martin Jan 03, 2018

The accuracy after 40 yards going down is because of how fast those light weight pellets are moving. Usually anything the 900~1000fps point starts to destabilize (at least in .177 and .22), resulting in pellets spiraling out of control. I would recommend tuning the gun down so that the pellets are moving at just under the 900fps point to gain the most accuracy and power.

Ok, just my 2c after initial opening. To be fair I bought the scope and Hill pump and H&N field trophy match pellets here, but because I wanted it in .177 compared to other rifles I've had, TDR Air Arms, SS Talon w/24" long LW barrel, this compares quite well actually. Took 3 shots to get within bullseye with this scope, really impressed me with that, It's accurate, will update on that when I can honestly say more, and I'm not a pushover or a guy that needs to inflate reviews to make myself feel better, I can't give any negative reviews on this item, doesn't mean Inwont update. The action is smooth, it came with 200bar when arrived, and sat for 3 days at Houston and took 7 to get here, so I'm sure it hold air perfectly. Loads pellets perfectly too, it's a solid click when cocked, and hits like a freight train! I also like the theads for airstripper slash....

It says use no more then a 30mm scope of you plan to use the fiber optic hard sights. We figured by getting tall rings (pyramid and I) that would compensate for the 42mm I went with, but even with see thru the bell gets in the line of site, thus making them unusable for me, but cmon a 30mm? You can get a tube size that large, would have to be one of the more expensive models to be only that size and be a competitor, even then, the tube might not have anything to do with how much light reaches your eye, but the front lens size certainly does, I'm at $160+$20 for scope and rings as it is. So, I guess I'd rework it so the iron sights can be used as they are fiber and seem decent for std. Issue sights.

For and finish of the wood and everything was pretty good, the one star I took away, and to be fair maybe shouldn't be taken from that question, but the side loading plate, plate opposite of charging handle and magazine, has what looks like tarnished fingerprints from hot metal or factory tooling, it's obvious whoever put it together could tell it was flawed, and had I been able to fix it, used a light duty metal cleaner called Flitz and its embedded. I will have to buy the part of see if Hatsan would help me, I'll update and if so, change my review of course.
Wow, the dirtiest barrel I've ever cleaned!! I'm not big at all on brass for pellet or my 1911 pistol barrels, use nylon brushes whenever and always!! I did brass brush this one, it kept coming up dirty, then figured the rifled grooves were as bad if not worse, the good news is, it comes clean baby!! And when it does she's shines like a Walther Lothar, she'll clean up like a prom queen, took maybe 30 or more patches!

    Sim Nov 18, 2015

Again this is for the .177 and for target practice only no hunting or killing small animals. Side note I didn't think this model was offered in .177 as while ordering we talked about how I had to buy the pump action to get the diminutive sized pellet rifle. I cancelled my order and got the AT-44W-10 when I found it lurking on a seperate page then the .22 and .25 As these are considered hunting rifles due to their oomphff! The .177 size is the least sold I surmise thus harder to find anyway.

    Sim Nov 18, 2015

Hatsan out of Arkansas USA totally took care of the issue, sending me the "machine plate" and even a note on what to look out for and be careful of (one part they 'lovingly call Houdini' lol I guess because it's ability to dissappear!) so that was a nice little touch to help a customer out, of course they offered to repair it if sent in, but that woulda cost me another $30 or maybe more. All in all I've been using different heavy pellets and it's accurate, I'm doing single ragged holes at 24 yards out rested and snuggled into bags. Once regulator arrives in sure it'll be a competitor at 10m no problem.

great gun for money you spend.accuracy not bad at all.mine 22 cal shooting as good as my tuned bsa lonestar. good value for money gun, even outshoots my marauder at 70 yard.almost 1/2 inch grouping at that distance, unbelievable for a gun in this price point.all these results are out of the box gun.

haven't cronographed the gun yet, don,t have time but shot the gun ,zeroed my scope .shot 60/70 shots (accurate), but little disappointed from 10 for 10 test result. pellets used rWs hobby (11,9 gr), tester Derek G CRONOGRAPH TAPE;- 852,931,963,972,983,990,994,987,999,1013. according to this tape gun,s energy is somewhere 24,26 foot pound only

I bought this gun a long time ago from Pyramyd. It was sold under the name Air Venturi Hailstorm. I own many, many pellet guns and this was my first PCP and my favorite small bore. Your gun does get the rated power your looking for. Try using H+N Barracuda 21.4 or Beeman Kodiak 21.4 their the same pellet. Chrony them use the calculator and you,ll see a big increase in ft lb of kenetic energy waiting to be absorbed by some poor squirrel or coon or maybe a melon. I love the wood stock and I have never had a single problem or complaint and can't get over how accurate this rifle is. Richard

If you're in the market for a new PCP air rifle, chances are good that you've eyeballed the Benjamin Marauder more than once. If you've got a ton of bank to play with, you've probably considered the Air Arms rifles as well. Let me spare you the wasted time, the needless expense, and the heartache: Get the Hatsan AT44! Right out of the box, this rifle shot .625" to .75" inch groups at 40 yards. I didn't even clean it first... I mounted a Centerpoint 4-16x40 scope, loaded up some 14.3gn Crosman HP's and hit the range. I had a zero in three rounds. The accuracy is incredible, and I've been putting my "Marauder" friends to shame all weekend... And for about 50 bucks less then they spent! The walnut stock is immaculate, sidelever action is effortless and the trigger is an absolute dream! I got WAY more than 50 shots per fill, and was still hitting hard and accurate well below 100 bar. If you want S510 accuracy for less than the cost of a new Marauder, then this is the perfect rifle!

The rifle has a high receiver block, and you'll also need some high mounts to clear the rear sight and the magazine. For these reasons, Hatsan should include an adjustable cheekpiece on all the AT44's. (The BT65's, Galatians and the AT44 tactical all have this feature, so you've got options.)

Tack-driving BEAST of a .22! The Hatsan AT44W-10 is quite possibly the hardest-hitting, most accurate .22 air rifle I've ever shot. Be ready for this rifle with a high-pressure fill station (I bought the Air Venturi 90cu 4500psi bottle), and find a paintball shop that can do 4500 psi fills (local scuba shop can't cut it). Trust me on this one... You do NOT want to pump this rifle to 200bar by hand! Fill 'er up, and prepare to be amazed...

PA as a store, excellent to work with. We had a couple of misunderstandings in one out of the 4 orders this last month. I called them and they made it all good without question. I won't be buying from anyone else. The first AT44W-10 I received had a slight problem advancing the magazine. They instantly issued me a Rma shipping label and asked me if I wanted to buy a 2nd one while mine was going back. So I decided to buy a 2nd one but different rifle to use since mine just went on back order. I bought a .25 Hatsan Mod 125 Thumb Hole. Then I bought my youngest son a starter rifle and my grandson a soft rifle and pistol set as he is 5.

I like the other guys would change the air guage to the same colored one on the larger Hatsan 65SB TH. Oh, and free prllets for life. Yuk, yuk.

This is the truth, I swear on my sweet grandmothers headstone. I removed this rifle from the box. I spent an hour scrubbing the barrel and polishing the wood and oiling the blue. My intended scope for this guy is still back ordered, so I grabbed the $16.95 Optima scope that came with my Hatsan Mod 125 TH a few weeks ago, and mounted it on the AT44. I just left eye clearance and screwed it to the AT44. Again, I swear I did not touch a turret screw or dial, no zeroing at all. The rifle had about 160 bar from having the 10 for $10 done. I have a table on the deck with a 2 5 yard shooting area. I pasted up a fresh target, rested the rifle in a MTM sighting thingy and shot all ten of the Kodak 21.14 grains into the red bullseye and area with he center of the group was wide open. Not one piece of paper in the group. Did it 3 more times until my air dropped off and the pellets started to fall at about 45 shoots. Remember I am shooting .22 and Kodak pellets weigh about 5 to 8 grains more then mostotherr brands. I have never done that all summer. I started with a Crosmsn 760, broke the handle, took it back to Wallys and got the M4, broke it, bought the Crosman .357 pistsl broke it, traded it for a Silient Cat, rear sights fell off, traded it back for a Gamo Bone Collector, spent 2000 pellets trying to zero it, so when it broke, I ordered the Hatsan and then 2 weeks later added another Hatsan. They are real guns, tuff and accurate. I zeroed the Hatsan Mod 125 Thumb Hole with 24 pellets.

Heads up for people that live in Florida and other humid States. I store all guns in our former bedroom converted to gun room. I just happened to move one of our flexable lamps and it hit the AT44W-10 bluing on the barrel. After only 3 weeks of ownership and the gun being displayed on an MTM gun holder, the top of the barrel was peppered with small rust spots. I was in panic, I had oiled all the guns after each use. The gun oil covered up the rust but I could still feel it by dragging my fingernail across it. This rifle is so deadly accurate, I did not even consider exchanging it. By accurate I mean at 25 yards on bench vise holder I measured at 10 round hole with.220 center to center pattern. That is Daystate and FX number. So I found a Remington Moisture Guard Rust preventative. All my other guns are fine including 2 Hatsans. So I dont know why it started to rust. But Just wanted to warn other Florida gun owners to keep a eye out. Cheers
