The Meopta Optika6 3-18x50 Is designed for hunters and shooters wanting the utmost in clarity and reliability from their rifle scope. Featuring a Second Focal Plane BDC-3 reticle with plenty of hash marks for elevation holdover, it has capped turrets to avoid any accidental dialing while trekking through thick cover. 0.25 MOA click values let you get on target precisely and easily. The reticle illuminates the just central dot, letting you acquire the target quickly while also leaving it unobstructed.
The 6x magnification range gives you a remarkably broad range of zoom for a wide range of target and hunting situations and the large 50mm objective lens gathers all of the light you will need to keep your sight picture clear and bright when viewing targets at long ranges on full magnification. It also keeps the sight picture clear and crisp in low-light situations that challenge most scopes such as dawn and dusk.
This is due to two key factors, the first being Meopta's use of high quality German glass, and the second is their MeoBright coating. This combination of factors leads to a class leading 91% daylight light transmission that makes looking through this scope a true pleasure to the eye.

A very sturdy scope. It is bright and well made. It is a little heavy for all day hunting otherwise an excellent scope. I have absolutely no regrets. I would purchase other meopta products in a heartbeat

I was hesitant to buy this BDC-3 reticle because the dot looked like it may be too small. I can tell you that when I first looked through the scope I'm like - this isn't going to work because the dot is in fact very very small. But after working with the scope for a while I got used to it and now I actually love it! In situations where the dot may seem too small for your liking, simply turn on the illumination, even during the day, to the level where the dot appears adequately and you're good to go. Don't let the small dot dissuade you from purchasing this. You can really hone in on small targets with it yet still see the dot using the illumination at other times. Like I said, I've grown to love it. In addition, the overall quality of the scope seems to be very good.
Things I would have changed:The crosshairs stop short of meeting in the middle. My personal preference would be to have the crosshairs meet and have the dot superimposed on the intersection of the crosshairs. I would also like to see the hash marks underneath the dot to be a touch thicker for easier visibility, although they are usable the way they are.
What others should know:The description says the parallax adjustment goes down to 10 yards. As some of the work I do is at about that distance, it was nice to see that the claim is true. 10 yards is nice and clear, and the numbers on the turret for the parallax adjustment do correspond with the clarity and parallax elimination at those distances. The description says only the dot lights up and that for the most part is true. But when the illumination is turned up in very low light, the crosshairs start to take on increasing illumination also. Which is totally fine but some people may want to know that. Also, when using the scope in conjunction with a night vision unit like the Bestsight with the 5" screen, illuminating the dot works very well when needed.
