I was in broken flat land small hills with small stands of trees in elk country. Spotted a herd of elk at about 200 yards. Set the tripod up by the grip and took a cow with no problem the Stix work as advertised. I use them for a walking stick when I'm hunting. The only problem I have had is make sure the yoke stays locked i lost the yoke and have ordered another I may wrapp some tape around the lock to keep it locked. Other than that I think they are great
Really appreciated the twisting collar that allows the legs to conform to uneven terrain.
This is an awesome tripod, this thing pulls triple duty.. its a shooting stick, glassing pod, and it makes a dang fine walking stick.. Primos asks that you don't put more than 35lbs pressure on this, but I have used mine to let myself off large logs, down ravines, rocks ect.. its a fantastic product, super fast to deploy, can go from standing height to sitting if your in a blind or just hunting a meadow sitting at a tree base, its quick and quiet. I don't think there is anything like this on the market.. get it.. you will love it.
We are really glad we bought the Jim Shockey Trigger Stick Gen3 Tall Tripod shooting stick. After receiving it, we trained at the range with it using many different shooting distances. It was quite while carrying in the field. Used on two antelope and one Mule Deer.
Quick and easy to setup for shots. Carry this in mule and when the shot presents itself just squeeze the Trigger on stick and ready for shot from the seat. No more trying to brace in air with no barrel support.
Lightweight, adjusts quickly, and stable. I’ve used it on a few recent hog hunts and at this point, I would feel a little lost without it. Great product, highly recommend
I am very pleased with the gen 3 it is very stable and have helped me made accurate shots
I have a Gen 2 and Bought a Gen3 as one leg on the 2 rusted tight. Took several months of soaking to free it up. Thanks to utube video. The gen3 is way more noisy than gen2. Squeezing trigger makes spring noises. The legs make scratching sound also on Gen 3. The V yoke in 3 is much wider in has less soft plastic. The hard plastic is loud and slippery on gun stock and x bow stock. Gen 2 has a leg up on the gen3 in my opinion.
Use this on a recent bear hunt in NM. Worked great, absolutely no complaints.
