Description
SIG Sauer breaks into the breakbarrel airgun market with the US-made ASP20 Break Barrel Rifle, a suppressed single-shot, gas piston rifle ideal for backyard target shooting and taking down small game.
Available in .177 and .22 the ASP20 uses a gas piston powerplant that is specially calibrated to deliver its pellets downrange at optimal speeds for accuracy and energy. The added benefit of this powerplant is the ability to shoot in colder weather without sacrificing power as you would with a spring-piston. Each uses a Glidelite Cocking Mechanism to ensure that your cocking effort is a smooth and manageable 33 lbs. In the .177 caliber, the ASP20 slings pellets at 1021 fps, and at 841 in .22 to dump 20 to 23 FPE into your targets. This design is based on the notion that subsonic pellets will fire more accurately, a maxim that proves true time and time again among premium airguns. Built for quiet backyard shooting, those powerful shots are all moderated by an integrated suppressor.
Moving to the action, the ASP20 features an adjustable 2-stage Matchlite® Trigger, designed for smooth and consistent trigger pulls to aid in accurate shot placement. A proprietary drill-pinned Breech Wedge Lock System also aids in improved accuracy by perfectly lining up the action with the barrel. A long Weaver/Picatinny rail awaits your choice of optics, and all of these features are set into an ergonomic black stained beech stock with excellent checkering on the grip and forend.
All of these options culminate in a superior gas-piston breakbarrel air rifle that lives up to SIG’s legacy of crafting airguns with improved tech, quality build, and are a thrill to shoot.

10 of 18 SIG Sauer ASP20 Gas-Piston Breakbarrel Air Rifle Combo Beech Reviews

Quality Pellet Rifle! Bought kitted with scope - already Zeroed in and best scope with an airgun to date.

Quality is great, the But ? is for not having a adjustable cheek piece for proper sight picture for the scope. I have bought parts to make the adjustable cheek piece for without it the weapon would be useless for me.
The ASP20 is well built and should last for many years. The Whiskey3 scope is made in the Philippines (poor quality) and does not hold up to the recoil. Accuracy is not as good as many people claim. Using a Hawke Airmax scope, one piece rings, and high end pellets you will achieve 8 out 10 shots in a 1 inch circle at 30 yards, 5 out 10 at 40 yards, 3 out of 10 at 50 yards. You will have almost $700 in this set up! Is that accuracy worth $700? You decide.
Things I Would Have ChangedReplace the Whiskey3 scope and Sig Sauer rings with better quality components. Add open sights so you can shoot your $600(total cost) rifle while waiting for your scope to be repaired.
What Others Should KnowThe accuracy that you see on YouTube is a fantasy world. Ever notice that they are not using the Whiskey3 scope? Any pellets over 10 grns are super tight and cannot be seated by hand. Anything under 10 grns is inaccurate.
First I need to say that I am a total newbie to airgunning, I mean this 57 year old hasn't touched a gun since I was shooting my brother's Daisy BB gun when I was 12... The squawking bird outside my window keeping me up at 2am a while back got me thinking about how dispatching that stupid thing with a pellet gun would make me feel more like a man so I started my quest to learn about today's pellet gun offerings. The internet and Pyramyd Air were a huge help in moving my thinking past a $79 multi-pump gun to the point that I took the plunge and bought a well reviewed Umarex Forge .177 model (I'll probably post a review under that product later.) It is a good unit and I learned a lot using it this past couple months. Mostly what it did was get me totally hooked on this air gun thing, I mean the airgunning bug has hit me harder than any Covid-19 bug could ever dream of! This clever little bug has been spinning around in my brain making me think (continued in next field)
Things I Would Have Changed"If this lower cost springer is working ok for me, what would it be like to shoot a REALLY good model, one with a great trigger, more power and even better accuracy?" So having then NO control over the situation (dam this airgunning bug) I was forced to do more research and scan reviews which lead me to the Sig Sauer ASP20... I pulled the trigger, a bit fearful that spending $600 was too much money for a guy trying to save for retirement so he'll finally have more time to play with his airguns. So you want a review? Here's what I think about the ASP20... HOLY COW this is a great riffle!! This thing is awesome! Remember I said I'm a newbie, I don't believe I actually shoot very well as I'm learning and working on good technique for holding, sighting, breathing, trigger pull, you long time shooters have mastered all that right? Anyway, I had this gun dialed in using its included Whiskey 3 scope in about 15 minutes, seriously, in my basement at 15 yards (continued in next field)
What Others Should KnowI am getting 1/4 to 1/2 inch groups consistently. You might say that's easy at 15 yards but not for me. This gun is a joy to shoot. Trigger pull surprised me at first because it was so much easier than my Umarex, I quickly could tell right where the break point was. It is a beautiful looking gun with great fit and finish. Everything I read about how well the barrel comes back to the breech, the "wedge lock breech system," is totally true - some great engineering there. It has some kick but it's not excessive. Some reviewers said it's a bit heavy, the heft, I believe, aids in how smoothly it shoots. Overall, for me, this is a 5-star piece, one I'm going to love for a long time. I can't wait to finish the shooting bench I am building and getting out to the back yard to start practicing at 20, 35 and 50 yds! If you're thinking about getting a springer and you have the dollars to spend, get the ASP20, you will not be sorry. Now, which PCP should I look into? (Dam this airgunning bug!!)

Pushed this thing hard for a year - at least 3k rounds and no cleaning.Taken much game with it. More accurate than the shooter will be - the velocities consistent, and the trigger immaculate. Build quality is reflected in the price you pay. This rifle is a stable, chonky boi. Using 14.3 gr domed or hollowpoints, it obliterates voles and rats, and punches down crows with ease, even at 50 yards (at which range the pellet has 12 ft/lbs at 624fps, with only ~1.5 mils of drop). I have found it to be slightly hold sensitive if loading weight into a hasty or deliberate rest for taking supported shots - so if you aren't offhanding or benching exclusively, load the stock for all your shots in the same fashion (due to the bidirectional recoil of the piston before the pellet leaves the barrel). Excellent all around. Buy once cry once. Don't settle for cheaper break barrels, and end up upgrading after a cycle of frustration and disappointment like I did.

It’s amazing. First air gun I’ve ever shot... I’m putting 5 in the size of a silver dollar at 50 yds. Well worth the money.

absolutely the best air rifle i have ever shot. super accurate and fun to shoot

Very accurate rifle. The scope is top quality also.I can shoot nickel size pattern at 20 yards.Im hoping i can buy replacement parts for the future.

This air rifle will outlast any other I have had. I am glad I spent a little more to get the best!

Friends have to see and shoot for themselves how accurate this rifle is. It is very quite and just amazingly accurate. The .22 cal is the way to go!
