Solid construction, well designed optic rail. It has a low profile. Easy install.
Things I Would Have ChangedConsidering that the replica M1 Carbine is slightly wider than the original, making the rail wide to match would be a good option.
What Others Should KnowIt might look straight-forward to install but, it would be nice to have some instructions on how to remove the upper hand guard and replace it with this optic rail. Removing the front shoulder strap bracket is easy enough however, some people that are new to the airgun world might be intimidated on doing this modification.
Solid aluminum. This is not a floppy replacement for the upper hand guard. In addition to the forward and rear retaining mounts there are two small retaining Allen screws about midway that secure it to the metal receiver frame in place of a barrel clamp and make it rock solid. Mine is shown in the M1 BB Carbine customer pics. Perfect for optics. Why optics on a BB gun? I like to see the target and where the bb's hit! Or a dot sight when failing eyesight makes fixed sights harder to use or simply easier to acquire the target with. (72)
Things I Would Have ChangedNothing. I like it better than the metal upper handguard have on a real M1 Carbine. It is not exactly flush with the sides of the stock a bit narrower but not a problem at all, looks great.
What Others Should KnowThe rail is a bit forward for a normal scope mounting and a scope with long eye relief and offset mounting rings should be considered, in my opinion. Otherwise a DOT sight works out just fine.
I got mine a while back for a wood stocked Airsoft Carbine and this seems to be the same one. The Springfield M1 Carbine stocks both wood and composite are a bit wider than a real carbine and the wood airsoft stock I got before. Perhaps why this rail is a bit narrower on them. I have both Springfield Carbines.
Mine came with the small Allen wrench so I am going to assume this does as well.

Enables optics to be installed on the gun. Made of metal. Nice matt finish.
Things I Would Have ChangedAdd instructions on installation. There's a piece that hold the barrel on that you discard when installing this mount. Retain the two screws holding it on to attach the mount. Keep the piece with the plastic part in case you want to bring the gun back to original state.
What Others Should KnowThe original plastic part did not fit snugly. This part is a tight fit and feels secure once installed.
