Umarex SurgeMax Elite Air Rifle Combo

I won this rifle at a Umarex Raffle At around 10:30 AM Wed 6/16/2021, Fed Ex showed up with a box sent from Airgun Pro Shop. Inside the first box was a 2nd box containing a 22 cal. Umarex Surge Max Elite air rifle and 5 tins of assorted pellets. (Qty 1,025 ) The rifle came with an Umarex 4x32 combo scope. Stated on the box was - Shipped 11 June 2021 - Bill Sender. Needless to say, I was surprised. I've entered for a few drawings in the past... here and there... but I have never won anything...ever. This rifle has a nice weight for a break barrel. This rifle is easy to cock.

It took me a while to get the hold figured out on this rifle.
Getting the trigger pull, down pat, took a while too.
My rifle has not been pellet picky and is fairly accurate.
I did not use the Umarex Scope that came with this rifle.
I have a CP 2-7x32 mil dot scope on it.

I have bought 5 rifles from Pyramid Air and have always been satisfied.

I like it that way it is

I like everything about this gun. It has a well built feel to it and looks great. Out of the box it is shooting very accurately and with a lot of power. It was loud and hard to cock at first but has improved in both areas greatly after 50 rounds through it. For the price I don't see how you can do better. I also have the Ruger Explorer(made by Umarex) which was purchased for younger shooters and this rifle is like its big brother. I have not installed the scope yet as the iron sights are right on.

I prefer the safety on the Ruger Explorer but it is not a big deal.

I am getting nice groups with just the Crosman Premier hollow points and haven't even tried a more expensive pellet yet.

Accurate, comes with a scope, and looks good.

Better Quality control. I wouldn't have bought it knowing what I know now about it.The 2 screws that hold the hand guard was bent but was installed anyway. Had to replace those.

Quality Control is Poor.The 3 screws that hold the stock always comes loose when being fired, so bring a Phillips when shooting because it will come loose and fall off. The trigger adjustment screw is too short to effect the trigger. I had to replace it with a longer one. I wouldn't have bought it , but this is my first Pellet Rifle so Live and Learn.

I like how it looks and not too heavy. Plus it came with a scope.

Better Quality control!. The 3 bolts that hold the stock keeps coming lose. The 2 that holds the upper part of the stock were bent but forced it anyway. The trigger adjustment screw was too short. I had it screwed all the way it with not effect. But even with the longer screw I still can't feel when it's about to fire. It feel like it only had one stage. I pull the trigger then BANG! No warning whatsoever . I've tried numerous things short of replacing a spring with a lighter one. Maybe that would help.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't but this rifle.

This is my first pellet Rifle so I don't have much to compare it to, but I do have a small collection of Fire Arms and did a ton of research before this purchase, if that makes any difference.I do like how light and tactical it looks. After cleaning the barrel I took a few shots in my back yard and was surprised at how loud it is. I did read that it quiets down once broken is but we shall see. My shot group at 15 yrds wasn't bad , but nothing to brag about. Moved it out to about 34yrds and again, nothing to brag about. I did notice a few negative things. The 3 screws that holds the stock comes lose all the time. I had to use a permanent locktite and a lock washer. The 2 stage trigger really suck. It's feels gritty and hard to feel the 2nd stage. It's a really heavy trigger. I tried adjusting the 1st stage screw behind the trigger and had it all the way in and it didn't change a thing. Come to find out the screw they used was too short to be effective.

It's not a bad Rifle for the price. BUT knowing what I know now, I wouldn't buy this gun. The quality is just not there. And it is loud for backyard shooting. And check all 3 stock screws often. They will come loose.

nice piece for the money. comes with a scope but I'm enjoying using the laser sight.

the safety is a little stiff, especially if you want to put the safety back on as there's not much finger room there.

arrived very quickly via ups, a day ahead of schedule.
