The Sidewinder ED 8-40x56 TMX riflescope from Hawke Sport Optics was developed to meet the very specific demands of target and field-target shooters. It’s a high-magnification, side-focus optic built with precision components engineered to deliver accurate, consistent results no matter what the conditions.
Shipped with three interchangeable, locking and resettable turrets, the Sidewinder ED 8-40x56 TMX offers users enhanced flexibility and customization. It ships with 1/4 MOA, 1/8 MOA and 1/10 MRAD click-value turrets. All it takes is a twist of the locking collar, unscrewing the turret in place and screwing on the desired replacement. To maintain consistent alignment and location, each turret has indexed teeth.
The glass-etched, red-illuminated TMX reticle also provides shooters with plenty of flexibility. When used at 10x magnification, it allows for 16-mil spacing of holdover to the outer edge of the field of view, along with 6-mil spacing of windage in each direction. At 20x, it allows for 8-mil spacing of holdover to the outer edge of the field of view, along with 3-mil spacing of windage in each direction. The stepless IR rheostat allows for full brightness control and the side-focus parallax correction is effective from 10 yards to infinity.
Last, but certainly not least, Hawke Sport optics employs superior-quality, extra-low dispersion (ED) glass in the objective lens, significantly reducing the occurrence of chromatic aberration, or color fringing, throughout. The resulting images are significantly sharper with reduced chromatic aberration, which is critical in high-power zoom scopes like this.
