Building on the success of a long-time CO2 favorite, the Hammerli 850 AirMagnum, Umarex delivers the 850M2 with a handful of desirable upgrades. Maintaining the same high quality performance as its predecessor, users can expect tack diving accuracy, smooth operation and rugged reliability from this rifle.
The 8-shot magazine cycles smoothly with the operation of the side bolt. This gun is made to shoot all day, and that is backed up by an impressive 200 shots per 88 gram CO2 cartridge! Take aim with the fiber optic sights, or mount a scope to the 11mm dovetail and see what this rifle can do. Additionally, the 850M2 features a 1/2" UNF threaded muzzle so you can add your favorite moderator or compensator.
The stock comes with a few upgrades over the original. The removable cover that keeps your CO2 cartridge hidden now features three picatinny rail sections for accessories. These will come in handy for those that want to mount a bipod, lights and lasers. There is also more texturing on the grip and fore-end of the stock to provide a firm and secure grip while you shoot The ambidextrous stock also features a clip on raised cheek piece which will provide a firm cheek weld for scoped shooters.
Whether you're looking to eliminate small game in the backyard, or drop tin cans with authority, the Umarex 850M2 is perfectly suited to handle all of your airgunning needs!

Accurate once the air charge drops after 8-10 rounds have been shot using the 12 gram CO2 adaptor
Things I would have changed:Remove the auto safety. Make it so its on or off but its not a big deal.
What others should know:shots well with wadcutters

This is the best CO2 pellet rifle I found so far and the bolt action is a big part of the fun. I had the Hammerli before and it is practically the same gun. However, the CO2 cover is more robust (not wobbling ) and the cheek piece has a removable raiser. I liked the new magazine. It is worthwhile to install a scope and explore the 50-yard range. The trigger can be adjusted and is light. The under rail may be useful if you want to have a bipod.
Things I would have changed:Make the cheek piece adjustable. Replace the dovetail rail by a Picatinny one. I installed a scope 14.3-inch long, with 2.5-inch space to adjust each ring, and I had to use an offset ring set (UTG AIR 322S) to have the ocular in the right position for me (12-inch from the dovetail rails front). If the frame and the rear of the guns rail were 1-inch closer to the buttstock I could have used a regular ring.
What others should know:If you are planning to explore the 50-yd plus range you may consider installing a 20 MOA raiser rail to avoid using most of the scope vertical range to zero it at 10 yards. Even with a 2.5-inch Sight Height the preliminary zero angle is 4.3 MOA at 10-yd, instead of 15.8 MOA without raiser rail. It is common having 0.25-inch group with JSB Exact Diablo Premium 8.44gr at 10 yards. All groups are less than 0.5-inch. H&N Sniper Medium 8.49gr has also a good result. The H&N Field Target Trophy 8.64gr and Match Green 5.25gr both jammed. The wadcutters spread a little more, RWS Meisterkugeln 8.2 & 7.0gr with H&N Finale Match 8.18 & 7.87gr were the best in this group. I use the Umarex 12 g CO2 adapter. To avoid losing power, put a little lube on the adapter (keeping it vertically) and install it with the guns barrel pointing down. Five magazines in a roll gave 40 good shots. The maximum with reasonable power is 56 shots.

Can this gun take the Umarex 12 gr CO2 adapter?
Yes, you can use this adapter. https://www.pyramydair.com/product/umarex-12g-co2-adapter-set?a=9620
Has anyone used the Umarex 88 gram co2 saver with this gun and will the stock fit over it?
The Hammerli 850 was made in Germany. The barrels on the .22 and .177 versions of that airgun that I own are very accurate because of the fine craftsmanship. Where is this new Umarex airgun made?

High quality CO2 rifle that is easy to use and very accurate
Things I would have changed:Remove the auto safety feature but you get use to the auto safety after a short time so its not a deal breaker. Make it so you can use a PCP air tank as an accessory. Have a suppressor in stock since none are available anywhere. The rifle isn't all that loud anyways but I would have purchased one if available. CO2 cover a little hard to remove but not impossible. Make the stock cheek riser adjustable.
What others should know:Great rifle that you won't want to put down. Magazines are too expensive at $30.00 each. Shoots wadcutters into targets really clean. Loves 13-15 gram pellets. Put a good scope on this rifle and it becomes a tack driver at 20 yards. Walther barrel is great German quality.
