Umarex 850M2 CO2 Air Rifle
Building on the success of a long-time CO2 favorite, the Hammerli 850 AirMagnum, Umarex delivers the 850M2 with a handful of desirable upgrades. Maintaining the same high quality performance as its predecessor, users can expect tack diving accuracy, smooth operation and rugged reliability from this rifle.
The 8-shot magazines in both .177 and .22 caliber cycle smoothly with the operation of the side bolt. This gun is made to shoot all day, and that is backed up by an impressive 200 shots per 88 gram CO2 cartridge! Take aim with the fiber optic sights, or mount a scope to the 11mm dovetail and see what this rifle can do. Additionally, the 850M2 features a 1/2" UNF threaded muzzle so you can add your favorite moderator or compensator.
The stock comes with a few upgrades over the original. The removable cover that keeps your CO2 cartridge hidden now features three picatinny rail sections for accessories. These will come in handy for those that want to mount a bipod, lights and lasers. There is also more texturing on the grip and fore-end of the stock to provide a firm and secure grip while you shoot The ambidextrous stock also features a clip on raised cheek piece which will provide a firm cheek weld for scoped shooters.
Whether you're looking to eliminate small game in the backyard, or drop tin cans with authority, the Umarex 850M2 is perfectly suited to handle all of your airgunning needs!

solid feel of co2 cover not cheap feeling
Things I would have changed:Option to override the automatic engagement of the safety upon cocking.
What others should know:2-12 gram co2 cartridges give 80-90 shots before loss of power. Hammerli 850 magazines do I repeat DO work wonderfully. Make sure you have an abundance of co2 and pellets and extra mags cause I did not want to put this thing down. A joy to shoot and I only quit cause it got too dark outside.

The Hammerli 850 was made in Germany. The barrels on the .22 and .177 versions of that airgun that I own are very accurate because of the fine craftsmanship. Where is this new Umarex airgun made?
Does this use the same magazines as the Hammerli 850?
The 850 M2 has a redesigned magazine. Umarex 850 M2 Rotary Magazine,... in 22 cal or Umarex 850 M2 Rotary Magazine,... in 177 cal.
How would this be for casual field target competition?
It is a bit underpowered. The long range shots will be difficult. It will work.

Good looking rifle and a good concept
Things I would have changed:The gun needs better iron sights.
What others should know:unfortunately the gun stopped working after 15 shots. There was not enough pressure to push the pellet out of the barrel. Thinking it maybe a defective CO2 cartridge, I tried 2 more. Both had produced the same result. It uses 88 gram CO2 cartridges, so they are not cheap! To top it off, there is a document in the paper work that says "Do Not Return To Pyramyd Air". Apparently Pyramyd Air does not want to stand by their products. I was not aware of this until I opened the box.
