Why Scent Control Matters
Game animals may detect danger through their sense of smell before they ever hear or see you. Effective scent control products will mask your natural odor while also blending your scent into the environment.
Utilize hunting scent control soaps, sprays, laundry detergent, and ozone systems to:
- Reduce human smell on clothing, gear, and skin
- Neutralize scent in blinds and tree stands
- Avoid educating game animals when the wind shifts
- Remain undetected, even when at close range .
Whether you are bowhunting whitetail or stalking hogs, scent control is a critical factor in getting within ethical shooting distance.
Using Attractants to Bring Game Closer
Attractants work in the reverse direction. They are designed to attract animals with some sort of alluring scent or taste. A good scent attractant will mimic food, estrus, or territorial dispute, depending on the game animal being pursued.
Types of attractants for hunting:
- Liquid and gel scent attractants for deer, hogs, and predators
- Scent wicks and drippers to spread scent for non-wasting and controlled scent near scrapes or game trails
- Mineral or feed-based attractants to enhance trail cam activity or preseason scouting
- Urine-based lures that simulate either estrus or dominance during the rut
Attracting game animals to your structured placement, along with proper wind direction, will lead them directly into your setup.
