SOG Terminus XR LTE Carbon Reviews

Super lightweight and innovative all milled carbon fiber liners. Multiple ways to open for great fidgeting. Blade still dead center and the coating on the blade is still great. I accidentally hit some concrete cutting and it didn’t damage the blade edge. Seems to be a great heat treatment. Made in China , but I don’t see any skimping. I figure to compete for the bm bugout market SOG has to cut the price point somewhere.

I love the knife. Works very well, sharp, light, and easy opening and closing. Perfect EDC. But the coating is not durable. Hopefully not everyone has this problem. I'd recommend this to a friend but not the gold one.

Sturdy, and now very light. Most useful blade shape, I think. No macho B.S. here.

When I saw this little guy with copper scales I immediately decided to purchase it to go along with my 3 other SOG folders. Love the look and feel of the knife. Blade perfectly centered without any wobble. Action good all three ways; flipper, thumb studs, & with xr lock. Lock up is rock solid and the cryo CPM s35vn blade is razor sharp out of the box. The reason only four stars is because the pivot screw is so tight that I can’t even move it ( believe me when I say i tried multiple times without any success) therefore making it unable to adjust. This is unacceptable for a knife at this price point!

Action is lumpy. The finish pits and corrodes easily despite very little use.

Bought this knife for its lightweight, cool aesthetic, and CPM S35VN blade steel at a seemingly reasonable price. Within a week of carrying, and barely using it, the coating began to show spots that look like rust. After scrubbing them with a sponge and vinegar, it doesn't seem that they are rust, just dark spots on the blade coating. Now, after a couple of months, the spots are even worse and continue to grow. I tried to submit a warranty claim, but I don't have the original receipt, so I essentially wasted $140 on a knife that can't hold an edge despite its "high quality" steel, and that continues to deteriorate on its own with little to no use. The lock also makes a plastic rattle noise when you move the knife in certain ways.

They changed the color from a yellow gold which was awesome to a more dull rose gold which is very ugly. Very disappointed since the acquisition.

Very Good Loking knife, comfortable to hold and use. Solid blade no wiggle at all!

The carbon fiber liners creates some friction and doesn’t swivel open as smooth as the metallic models.

I purchased this knife a few weeks ago from a men’s online retailer (they sold out fast) and it’s been incredibly functional. I’m in Florida and in the heat I often wear workout style shorts- which means any added bulk is not welcome. Not surprisingly, this feather light knife is perfect…I forget I have it with me till I need it!

Absolutely LOVE IT! The Terminus Gold is super smooth and feels great! This knife looks fantastic and the fit and finish is exceptional. I have many SOG knives and I must say that I am always extremely pleased. Thanks SOG!

My second SOG and I couldn't be happier.. Quality and comfort in a daily worn blade, all I could ask for.

Sad about i got the nice and 2 days later the finish started chipping

I purchased this knife to play with and look at more than to cut with. I love playing with this knife. It is a fun, cool looking knife that barely adds any weight to your pocket, and gives you 3 distinctive means of deployment. Thanks for the re-design of the Terminus.

It’s very light but the detent is sticky. Does not drop closed is herky jerky

The gold on the knife started to fade after a couple of uses. The quality of the knife is fantastic. Very light weight and good steel. Small enough to conceal no matter what you’re wearing. If you’re buying it for the gold, know it will fade quickly.

I was very excited for this knife but unfortunately the gold coating seems to be spotting and wearing extremely fast. I have not carried this knife for more than 2 weeks. No other complaints. Very light and sturdy. I would NOT recommend this gold color.

Was digging it, but after a couple weeks now the blade has ugly corrosion on the logo side. It sits on my coffee table. I might have opened a couple boxes with it. Wiped it off every time. No reason it should look like this.
