    Lightweight Terminus!

I love this knife. I just got into pocket knives and started with the bugout and mini-bugout. I love the bugout but it is a bit small - this Terminus is almost as light, but slightly more substantial in the hand, while still being extremely lightweight, and carrying very easily in my pockets. I love it.

    Great EDC

Great EDC choice. Lite but sturdy. Like the flipper!

Great Features - That Aren’t Quite Polished

I’ve had this knife four days and I’ve fidgeted with it opening and closing hundreds of times. At first it was nearly impossible to open with the thumb stud or lock and a flip. The flipper tab failed to open completely most of the time. I oiled it a lot and found I could open it using the thumb tab and flipper tab at the same time; like spinning a top. It has loosened up considerably. The excess oil that has dripped out is dirty and feels gritty. The knife is light and the blade is sharp. The handle is box like; there is no contouring to its design. The edges of the liners are not rounded or smooth; they feel sharp to the touch. The lock springs are strong and hard to pull. The lock tabs feel like they’re riding on sandpaper. The angle on the back end of blade allowing the lock bar to hold it closed needs to be adjusted so it doesn’t require as much force. I really want to like this knife because it is going to be my edc. I don’t want to sound like a “brand” snob, but it isn’t in the same league as my mini griptilian. There is no comparison to the smoothness of my grip when opening. Though its just cosmetic, the contouring of my grip handle gives it a feel of elegance. It does have a significant advantage over my other knives. I can’t carry a blade over 3 inches long. Most knives with shorter blades have shorter handles to go with them. My grip’s blade is just a little shorter, but the handle is 1/2 inch shorter. That extra length in the terminus handle makes a big difference in the way it feels in my hand.

    Great EDC

This knife has a great weight for EDC, and both opening/closing is seamless. Kudos!

    Terminus X-ray lte

So light you forget you have it. Great quality. Can’t stop opening and closing.

    Light and sharp. Perfect EDC

I've been looking for a light weight, sharp, flipper pocket knife and found what I was looking for. Highly recommended for EDC knife.

    Terminus XR LTE - Carb

Pros: Very streamlined comfortable for the pocket. Light weight. Cons: Finger release is not easy to work with. Pull mechanism is tight. Doesn’t flow like other Sog knives I’ve had

    Love this knife

I bought 3 of these one by one as the new steels and materials came out. I love them all, but this TERMINUS XR LTE with CF is impressive. These knives have an incredibly long break in time but once dialed in they are amazing; I will say they are not too far off from the box, it is simply an intricate design.

    Some Moving parts jingle!

Hello, just unpacked brand new knife bought because of a positive review on everydaycommentary. Unfortunately, I find that no matter whether the knife is open or closed, moving parts jingle when you move the knive back and forth. I think this is the locking mechanism. I do not have this effect with my other knives (ZT, Spycerco, Benchmade). Is this normal or can it be eliminated? Regards

    Amazing lightweight knife

I wanted a knife I could carry wearing shorts that wouldn’t weigh much. This is an Awesome knife. So light I forget it’s there. Came a little stiff but after a couple weeks opening and closing it, It is really smooth now. Holds an edge amazingly well. Easy to sharpen. I use a lansky diamond sharpening system and a couple times on Both sides it is razor sharp. I now carry this more than my benchmade

    Terminus XR LTE

An elegant knife for EDC. It is extremely light and easy to carry. The carbon fiber scales give it a very upscale look. If they (the scales) have a down side it is they are very smooth and I find getting a good grip to retrieve the knife a bit tricky. Should get better with practice.

    Best Carry Knife Available.

The lightest sharpest most useful pocket knife I have ever owned. I purchased a second to have for regular carry knife and one that I could really use heavily without concern about the wear.

    Not worth $140

Fit and finish is bad, locking mechanism is crooked and hard to engage if left handed. Don’t know how it got passed their quality department.

    Nice upgrade!

I bought this as an upgrade to the Terminus XR I have previously purchased. I like the lighter weight it is noticeably less in my pocket which makes a big difference at the end of the day. The XR LTE is my daily carry and receives heavy use day in day out. I love the flipper style action, and the S35VN steel stays sharp.

    Great every day knife

Very well thought out knife. One of the few that can be easily closed with one hand. Can open three ways, thumb flick, flipper, or wrist flick. Nice looking steel.

    Excellent choice for EDC

Excellent size, weight and quality. Plus the 3 opening options sets it apart from most every other competitor in its class. The combination of features and price make this knife an excellent value (so much so I have 2).

    Exactly what I wanted.

I'd carried a SOG Vulcan for years, and had some specific criteria I wanted in a currently-produced replacement. Flipper for opening, an axis/arc type lock, fairly specific blade length and shape, and a clip that didn't suck. I'd bought a normal version of the Terminus in OD and liked everything except for the clip geometry which was both hard to get out of my pocket and caught everything. So the XR LTEs with their clip far more similar to my Vulcan came out I had another reason to stick with SOG. Zero complaints, it ticked all my boxes, and the reduced weight of the CF scales is a definite perk. And I liked it enough I bought a brass scale one minutes after those were released. I imagine I'll buy a third down the line as a spare in case I lose the thing.

    Perfect EDC knife

Great for EDC. Good size and weight for any occasion. Blade has retained edge nicely thus far. Easy, one handed open and close.

    Terminus XR LTE Graphite/Carbon Fiber

The Terminus XR LTE Graphite/Carbon Fiber is probably the best EDC you can own as far as size, strength, weight, and deployment.

Bugout Killer! --- Old problems solved.

Updates to this little flipper have been spot on. The new, unobtrusive (and subtly branded) deep carry clip give s the knife a much more refined look. The carbon fiber scales are super strong, light and do not flex (I'm looking at you Bugout), only potential negative is that the scales could get a bit slippery, but hey, it's carbon fiber, it comes with the territory... lock up is tight, pivot is buttery smooth. IMO this is a perfect EDC knife for the real world- no it's not the most aggressive tactical looking knife in the world, but when you bust it out in the lunch room no one's going to call security. I will carry this wearing a suit, business casual, or jeans-- board room or bar room-- anywhere really. Great looking, great ergos, great steel, and just a touch over 2oz- Bugout killer! Small changes (good on you SOG for listening) make a BIG difference. Great job SOG, I predict this will be a huge hit. If this was 20 bucks cheaper I'd say it's an instant classic and a no-brainer-- maybe when it hits retail outlets it'll be in the sub-$120 range. I needed a new EDC knife and considering that this is going in my permanent collection, I don't mind paying a little more from the factory. I'm really impressed.
