Reticle is crisp Turrets are very nice Easy to reset Turrets Nice and compact Sunshade does its job Absolutely love the quick release mounts

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

Hard to mount on certain rifles because of profile of scope probably hqve a difficult time mounting this scope on a rifle with a rotary mag probably going to need very high mounts. Make sure you measure you clearance before purchasing

    Things I liked:

Clear optics great AO range and perfect size

    Things I would have changed:

Simple get some eye relief your eye is in danger if you have a gun with any recoil. Plus you must hang the scope over the end of the gun to get it close enough to see through.

    What others should know:

Glue to scope to your eye with super glue.

    Things I liked:

The fact that you can NOT get a better scope for what a scope is meant for; to SEE the target downrange, acquire the 'kill' spot, and then SHOOT! And the THREE Bug Busters I have gotten from PA are WONDERFUL performers... PERIOD!

    Things I would have changed:

It would be great if we had a choice of reticles, glass vs wire vs... you get it. And though it may sound CRAZY for the price-point, I wouldn't mind having a side focus for the AO. I'm just sayin'!

    What others should know:

People, I do not own a HIGH-END optic, but seriously, I KNOW what my eyeballs see when I look through one. I have had the 'pleasure' of using optics costing up in the thousands, but other than the NAME brand, I just do not GET it. Now MAYBE if you are shooting at a thousand yards, THEN you might need a PURE GLASS, GAS FILLED, NO FOG EVER type of scope. Oh, something else. While I have no clue if there might be PLASTIC optics used in some of these great scopes from Leapers and others, do NOT let someone convince you that scopes with ANY sort of PLASTIC optics is somehow inferior... IT AIN'T. Check out some of the optics that NASA uses. glass is NOT the end-all/be-all regarding the view. Some of the BEST tele lenses I used way back as a PROFESSIONAL photographer had multi-lens plastics, and a few were hybrids. Getting back to my BB scopes, I wouldn't change 'em for NOTHING. And I will always say a little prayer for some guy who thinks the only scope is a MEGA priced one... sad.

    Things I liked:

    Small ,light and cool looking.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe an etched glass version with better optics and a lower price. (Right) the mounts are not the greatest, they seem to point the scope off to the left so you have to shim it to keep from over adjusting.

    What others should know:

All scopes mounted on a spring powered air gun are going to shift sooner or later. The bug buster is no exception.even on my HW 30 I have to make adjustments from time to time. All my more powerful guns (HW 95s, RWS, beemans and gamos) have UGT/leapers or hawke scopes, UGT 10x44 compact rules. But it's all about weight with my HW 30 and the bug makes it sweet.

    Things I liked:

The quick release mount is nice, but I have not used it as I fear removing it would cause me to have to rezero when I put it back on. Might not, but right now I am using screw mount.

    Things I would have changed:

Can't think of a thing I would change right now. Love the lock down turrets and the lens hood, which I have just ordered a lens cover to fit.

    What others should know:

Bought the Bugbuster at pyramid and put it on my Air Force .22 Condor. The squirrels now fear me. Works great and the features for the money are a great deal. My motto now is similar to the marine snipers; "One shot one squirrel."

    Things I liked:

Size! Perfect fit for my rifles.Functaly solid and stable in mounts.Single finger operation of magnification. Optics clean and clear. Mil dot reticle awsome.

    Things I would have changed:

    N/A

    What others should know:

This is good for pistols or revolvers if you are bench shooting.

    Things I liked:

Great fairly priced scope, smaller in size yet powerful and stable. great light indoors or outdoors and the powere reticles come in handy in sunlight. Don't even need the powered reticles indoors though as the field of vision is so crisp and clear.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, this is a great product at a very fair price.

    What others should know:

I have used this on springer rifles and this baby holds its position with the right mounts, 1000's of shots before having to make any adjustments. I found this easy to adjust to each gun I have mounted this on...I have had success with various BKL adaptor mounts that stay firmly in place and give this scope and included rings a great foundation.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

I like the range this scope affords: accuracy in shooting target distances between 3 yards (9 feet) to something greater than 50 yards and less than 100 yards. If you are restricted to 30 yards or less of shooting range, this is a great scope! It is light weight, small in size and is easy to focus the objective lens. The turret adjustments are not covered by removable caps and so they're immediately accessible for tuning (big plus). The dust covers work well and they snap open and closed easily. Shock rated for magnum springers, so we can expect a good service life.

    Things I would have changed:

I'd pay more for a finer wire reticle or even an etched glass reticle option (dreaming) to improve accuracy at longer distances. Otherwise everything is good!

    What others should know:

This is the third one of this model scope that I have bought and all behave with the same good manners, I can't tell them apart during use. Great for close to medium-long range work! A good value for just under a hundred bucks!

    Things I liked:

The clarity is excellent and blows away my 4-16x40 CenterPoint and 4-12x50 RWS scopes. The 3 yard magnification is great feature and combined with the clarity on an accurate shooting platform it truly is a bug busting optic. My favorite feature is the turret system with the utilized zero locking feature. Once you know the zero with your rifles preferred pellet you can set your scopes zeros to that POI. Then when you are shooting at different ranges or with different ammo you can adjust scope zero according and when you done you can go back to your original preset zero. I really like the reticle illumination and the adjustment in color intensity is firm and precise. The parallax adjustment is also a firm affair and won't change if the objective bell is brushed. The optic is very lightweight and deployed on my sons Benjamin Discovery makes for a deadly accurate easy to carry fun to shoot system.

    Things I would have changed:

The sunshade does not work with the objective flip cap. This would be my only grip and a minor one to boot.

    What others should know:

You simply will not regret investing in this UTG optic. I really do enjoy it so much on my sons Discovery that I'm considering another UTG Bug Buster for my Benjamin Varmint rifle. The Bug Buster falls under the "True Strength" banner and will survive the abuse of a springer or nitro piston power plant.

    Things I liked:

Very compact scope, comes with rings, sunshade. Works completely as advertised. I would buy the scope again if needed.

    Things I would have changed:

A little bit clear glass around the edges, as the center seems to be very clear, and the edges seem to be a little blurry.

    What others should know:

Very clear center on the glass, a little blurry on the outside of the glass. Parallex adjustment was very good.

    Things I liked:

This is a perfect addition to any AG or PB. Plenty of Light, clear and light weight, as this little scope is solid as a rock. I used it on my Woods Walker Marauder Pistol and shoots dime groups with 24 shots at 30 yards. The best part is the lightweight part of it, I have a couple AG's that are heavy using a standard scope and I tried this on them as well, what a big difference it made for carrying my heavier AG's.

    Things I would have changed:

Would love to have one in 4-12 x 44mm, not sure if they make one in that size or not, either way it is perfect as is.

    What others should know:

Works well on just about any AG from a Kalibrgun Cricket to a Disco and especially the Prod.

    Things I liked:

This is my third Bug Buster scope , they are almost perfect for AR's work well an my Air Force PCP rifles as well they are the right combination of size weight and power at a very good price.

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe a little longer I mean an inch or less and higher power range like 6-14 if possible. More eye relief would be helpful.

    What others should know:

Only limitation is eye relief and length of scope so your mounting needs to be adjustable enough.

    Things I liked:

    nice &light ,o.k. optics

    Things I would have changed:

it would be great if the point of impact didn't change from 9x ,to 3x . if you dial it in at 30yards on 9x it will hit 1.5 " low at 30yards on 3x ,it also has a lot of paralex at 30 y. on 9x , (about 3/4" up &down, about 1.25" left &right ). put it in a gun rest & back off scope a little ,then move your head around a little & watch the 1" squares on your target, the crosshairs will move even with the front adjustment set correctly. so you can only use 7,8,9x ,to be in the bull.takes alittle while for it to settle in after any adjustments, but if you let it set awhile &reshoot &rest &reshoot several times it will finaly hold a tight group at 30 to 50 yards with my benjamin397 , be patient and it will work! I would not recommend for a serious tack driver guy !

    Things I liked:

Looks great, IR is fabulous for evening shooting. Accurate at first.

    Things I would have changed:

R&D on the focusing ring.Very unstable. Every time adjusted for distance, looses zero.

    What others should know:

After 50 rounds the focusing ring became loose and would never keep it's zero. PA was great and took it back, sent another. 50 rounds same problem.PA was great again and took it back and sent me a BSA so we'll see what happens now.

Nice and clear, easy to set up and sight in.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

Mounted on my Sam Yang 45 using a UTG 11 mm to Weaver base and the supplied quick detach rings. This makes it easy to access the loading port and gave me plenty of adjustment for any barrel droop.

    Things I liked:

I liked the small size and such features as 3 yard AO, Illuminated reticle, and hood that came with the unit

    Things I would have changed:

I would offer additional types of mounts other than the ones that came with it. I ended up purchasing additional rings to make it work.

    What others should know:

Its accuracy was good, and it appears to hold its position well on the target. I felt the clearness of the glass was not good. It is not near as clear as any of my other scopes. This scope is used on a Benjamin Maurader Pistol with an AR 15 scope.

  • Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Good optics, good quality build. The windage and elevation locking rings are great and work as advertised. The adjustable objective works very well and gets me on target from as little as 10 meters. The illuminated reticle works great as well. Overall the scope is a great deal for the price. Overall the scope and accessories that come with it are great. I highly recommend it.

    Things I would have changed:

I think it would be best to offer the scope with the option to purchase with Weaver rings or Dovetail rings. Also this scope is really short and can be a problem when trying to mount it on a rifle with limited length rail, be it dovetail or Weaver. Maybe making it about 1 inch longer would remedy this. See below for my other solution to this.

    What others should know:

I bought this scope for my Daisey Avanti 853C pneumatic air rifle to shoot the NRA 10 meter range at our club. I found that the short stature of the scope created a problem in mounting it to that rifle due to the short receiver and being a dovetail rail. I purchased a Weaver to Dovetail one piece offset adapter rail which lifted the scope considerably higher so I had to shim the back ring of the scope with 4 layers of post-it-note paper to get it on target; otherwise I would run out of UP adjustment and still be 18 inches below the bullseye. This adapter also remedied another problem which was not having enough dovetail rail on the 853C to bring the scope back enough for proper eye relief. After all was mounted and adjusted I found this scope to be very accurate and great to shoot with. I highly recommend it to everyone.

  • Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

I appreciate the packaging and everything in the box checked out just fine. The scope is very nice and solid and compact like I wanted and needed for close up yardage shots that my other scopes couldn't provide. The turret knobs provide very solid clicks for elevation and windage. The zero locking rings do their job well though I can see those with bigger hands(fingers) might have a bit of trouble with them. I love the mill dot Reticle and the illumination of both Red & Green which work very nice and brightness can easily be adjusted with the knob. You simply choose which you prefer in which ever light you are in. Oh, and I love the flip-up lens caps!

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing at this time.

    What others should know:

Think and decide carefully if you want this scope for an Air Arms S410 set up like mine which will not allow you to achieve a full field of view(eye relief). Because you have to make sure that the front end of the scope is over and in front of the breach. I don't have enough rail behind my breach which takes a rotor mag to place the scope further back behind it for the correct eye relief to be had. I wish there was an extension type rail made that I can attach to my back rail just for this type of problem. Higher mounting rings are out of the question for that would put the max strain on elevation and windage just to zero in. So for now I just compensate with a slight awkward position once in a great while.

    Rating 5.05.0 5.0

    Things I liked:

Compact size, exposed turrets that reset to 0,comes with sunshade, mil-dots for holdover/windage, tough little scope, and holds o.

    Things I would have changed:

At 9 power the optics are a little fuzzy around the edges, no big deal, I'm seeing the crosshairs on a ground squirrels ear at 25 yards. The eye relief is too short, but with the wright scope mount is adjustable. I did not use the mounts that came with it for that reason. Better scope caps, that snap on, rather than the flip up. Flip up caps on an AO scope are awkwardly offset when adjusting magnification.

    What others should know:

This scope has a very short mount distance of 3", I used the BKL 1 piece 3" mount(also sold here at PA) to correct the eye relief more to the rear of the dove tail mount. This is the perfect mount for this scope, 1pc, very solid, and well built. By the way, I bought this setup in 2012, for a highly customized Crosman 1377 pumper with 14" barrel. 10 pumps x 8000+ rounds is a LOT of vibrations, and this scope, with mount, has never lost 0 at 25yds. Many a ground squirrels will attest to this scopes toughness, and dependable accuracy. Use blue locktite on all screws after final adjustment. I liked this setup so much I just bought another for my new 10/22 Takedown Tactical. I read another review that stated this scope does not need to be removed from the receiver after takedown to fit in the backpack. I purchased a picattiny combo dovetail mount to use the BKL scope mount. I will give an update after a range test on the new 10/22. Hopefully UTG has made improvements in 3 years.
