Things I liked:

Extreme accuracy for a good price. You won't be disappointed. I accidentally left it loaded with air but no pellet for 17 days. No problem at all.

Things I would have changed:

Nothing. I only had to slightly adjust the sights to put one pellet on top of another

What others should know:

Shipped with very light trigger pull.

Things I liked:

I really liked the looks of the gun, fit of the grips and dryfire feature.

Things I would have changed:

If you sell remanufactured guns, you should check if they have been remanufactured and not just a returned defective gun.

What others should know:

I ordered this gun as "remanufactured" as the price was right and I thought it should shoot great having just been gone over. It arrived in a timely fashion, so I grabbed some pellets and drove 12 miles to the range, paid my $20 target fee, stepped up to the line and pumped the lever, loaded a match pellet, closed the breach, took aim and pulled the trigger and NOTHING but a click. After repeating this half dozen times, I packed up my gear and droved 12 miles home. I packed up the gun and told Pyramyd I was returning the gun as defective. They sent me a prepaid return label and I drove 6 miles to FedEx. I had my refund 6 days later. My biggest complaint was the huge waste of time.

    Things I liked:

The accuracy is on a level with the top notch olymipc guns, just not as many adjustable features. The clear advantage, you don't have air flasks to pump up or no scuba tank or an electrical pump. As a single stroke pneumatic it is very rasy to use. Also VERY reliable. I gave my son the gun I've used for 8 years and it works like new.

    Things I would have changed:

I wish they offered grips in different sizes. I have a small hand and will need to take the dremel tool to it. The only size tgey offer is large. They need more complete directions on trigger adjustments.

    What others should know:

The gun I got was dry. Make sure you order some SPERCIAL CHAMBER LUBE. Try pellets of different weights to see which does best with your gun. In all these are accurate, reliable well made guns. And the single stroke pneumatic is the best option if you don't want to buy a hand pump, scuba bottle or compressor. Also Pyramyd air may be the best overall air gun dealer to deal with. While they do not carry most expensive Olympic guns, they have everything else you can want in casual, competition and hunting air guns. AND they stand behind their products. Great company.

    Things I liked:

This air pistol is pretty accurate at 10 m distance with some adjustment with rear sight.

    Things I would have changed:

Palm rest on the bottom (wooden piece) seems pretty weak. A piece of wood fell off on the first day I tried this air pistol.

    Things I liked:

Firstly - I have the IZH46M which is pretty much identical without the laminated grips. As other have said, it's more accurate than I can shoot. I had a red dot on it, but couldn't stand the top-heavy weight, so I shoot with open sights. So enjoyable to be able shoot inside my house. There's a trigger option for purchase, but I like the original. Certainly there are finer pistols, but I think this is a good value for the money.

    Things I would have changed:

The grips are large and bias a right hander. I'm a woodworker and enjoyed making the grip absolutely glove-like.

    What others should know:

Get some extra o-rings. It's probably me, but I've blown a few out.

    Things I liked:

Accuracy. This is an accurate pistol. Ease of cocking, While it does require some effort it isn't hard enough to be an issue when shooting forty or more pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

Grip quality. A piece of the moving grip plate broke off immediately. I glued it back on and it wasn't a part that affected anything.

    What others should know:

This is a heavy pistol and if you are not used to shooting match type pistols will take a while to get used to.

Finally - got one of the first ones to get here, but I was also one of the ones who got one of the modified power guns - I had to take it apart (not hard) and adjust the piston to get it to it's rated fps.

    Things I would have changed:

It's a very basic, very mechanical, device. Maybe some different finishes?

    What others should know:

Apparently, Pyramyd Air can no longer get the breech seals, so we need another source, since those are so important to the operation of this gun.

    Things I liked:

Exact copy of the IZH46M, and may have been made there when you start comparing the internals and inspection marks to an original 46 or 46m. Laminated grip is an upgrade to the original but will still run on the large side and will need fitted to each individual hand. This isn't a pellet picky pistol and can handle light to medium weight pellets easily.

    Things I would have changed:

Not much its accurate but a bit on the heavy side when compared to modern PCP 10 meter pistols.

    What others should know:

Store the breech in the unlocked position so your breech seals stay nice.

    Things I liked:

This gun is accurate and fun to shoot. It is a single stroke so there is no air tank or periodic tank refilling needed. My Hammerli AP20 Pro is an exceptional pistol but the main drawback is the whole air tank system. The grip is nice but has a few issues which I will get to, the same with the sights. I am pleased with the pistol and feel it is a great buy.

    Things I would have changed:

Get rid of the laminated grip and go back to solid wood. It looks cheap and parts of it are fragile. Focus on quality control. The instruction manual needs more info on the sights and how to service them to replace and adjust the blades.

    What others should know:

Quality control is an issue. My first pistol had wear marks on the barrel bluing. The palm support broke after a few shots and the sights were way off to the right, so much so that when I did get them centered there was no more left adjustment. I sent it back for a replacement. Quality is much better though the palm rest broke again. I blame this on two things, I have large hands and the piece that keeps breaking off is directly under the trigger guard. The sights were again off to the right but this time I realized that the rear sight blade is replaceable and slides left and right on the mount point. Loosening the screws and manually adjusting to center brought everything into alignment. (Note: to loosen the screws turn them clockwise not counter-clockwise) You get 2 blades for a total of 4 sight notches with the pistol, As one reviewer mentioned my middle finger rides a ridge carved into the grip right at the trigger guard, a fine file will correct this.

    Things I liked:

The design, ease of use, ergonomics, and of course, the grip itself. This is an easy gun to use and to shoot accurately.

    Things I would have changed:

In my opinion, the cocking level is obtrusive. As such, I shortened mine, and it works just as well but looks much better. The gun has typical blemishes and mars that one often sees on Russian weapons, but overall is finished fairly well.

    Things I liked:

Extremely accurate - excellent practice for your aim and steady hold. Very nicely constructed and blued. The set of sight blades, tool and cleaning rod, and a spare seal kit is a nice extra. Within a very short time I was punching ragged single holes in targets. The trigger is excellent and the 2nd stage breaks like an icicle. The rifling on the barrel is beautifully machined and polished including the breech and muzzle. No fill bottles or CO2 so it'll work anywhere as long as you have ammo. Yup, it is a bit pricey, but compared to high-end German PCP target pistols (admittedly the pinnacle of accuracy to get you that last 5% of perfection), it's a bargain. Awesome pistol overall and mechanically brilliant, yet simple. It's become a go-to shooter!

    Things I would have changed:

Trigger guard has a hard edge where my index finger rests. I will smooth that with a Swiss file and re-finish it. I will probably also whittle down the grip a bit for a better fit -- it's close but needs a little work. There is no provision for mounting other sights, i.e. flats w/mounting holes, dovetails, etc. without add-ons (see below).

    What others should know:

As others mention, the trigger pull is VERY light out of the box. To avoid mishaps I recommend adjusting it higher until you get the feel of it. This pistol isn't very picky about pellets -- Meisterkugeln, Qiang Yuan, and RWS R 10/R10+ group tightest, but even RWS hobby and Excite wadcutters group reasonably well. Last, if you want to mount a red-dot or scope, the B-Square barrel-mount picatinny rail for the Baikal IZH-46 (if you can find one) fits perfectly without modifications. Note that this rail has narrow recoil grooves that might not fit some models of sight cross-pins without a bit of filing, but once it's fitted, it's solid and doesn't move.

Great Air Pistol. Seems to shoot pretty accurate. I put a red dot site on it, now I can get laser like shots at 10 meter matches.

    Things I would have changed:

Front site housing was loose when I received the gun. Maybe a bit better quality control.

    Things I liked:

More accurate than I am. I like that it is a pump pistol... no cartridges to deal with. It shoots 8.2 grain at an average of 426 fps. Really light trigger, might actually have to bring it up a bit to match my bullseye pistol. Definitely a great solution for bullseye practice at home. Better than dry firing. I like it so much, I'm going to see if I can put together an informal 10m in-house league at my club.

    Things I would have changed:

Things that I will change... The grip is shipped larger so that people can sand it down to perfect fit. I will work on the grip to match my bullseye pistol. I will also adjust the trigger to get as close to my bullseye pistol. Way to light out of the box... probably around 500grams.

    What others should know:

When you pull it out of the box, make sure all screws are nice and tight. Front sight was very loose on mine.

While some may consider receiving a defective item a bad thing, it allowed me to see how Customer Service responds. What I like, is the fact they were incredibly responsive and worked quickly to correct an issue with the grip damaged at the factory.

    Things I would have changed:

A packaging issue. With both of the guns received, there is a small bag of parts and a rear sight blade. In both cases the gun arrived with this bag torn open and all parts thrown around in the box. As a new owner, you do not know what you may be missing and had fallen out? Maybe someone should inspect prior to shipping and re-bag these parts into another sealable bag for transport.

    What others should know:

    Excellent company and service.

    Things I liked:

Probably the most accurate non-PCP air pistol for 10 meter shooting. The basic grip os a little oversized but is meant to be fitted by the owner. The trigger is excellent. a little heavy in the first stage but very crisp in the second stage and feels like it breaks at about the 500gram limit for ISSF Shooting. Comes with 4 rear sight notches and 4 different size posts, a set of seals, Cleaning rod and a couple of allen keys. Rear sight adjustment are very positive clicks and well marked but small so I filled the markings in with white nail polish to make them easier to read. The cocking pressure is all in the return stroke towards the grip. The long arm and end pad give a lot of mechanical advantage so the cocking effort seems very light and would not be and issue even for a long 60 shot match. I bought the adjustable trigger and it installed and adjusted easily. With the $100 discount bringing the price to $550, it is the best bang for the buck around and no PCP filling costs.

    Things I would have changed:

The manual tells you which screws adjust what but doesn't say which direction makes for a positive or negative change. A little bit of trial and error is necessary.

    What others should know:

The manual is pretty good and worth a read. Notable is the storage recommendation to release the bolt to save the rings in the breech. The dry fire mechanism is a great training aid.

I own many hand guns and without a doubt the AV- 46M has the best sights of them all. The interchangeable front and rear sights is a Real plus.

    Things I would have changed:

A gun in this price range should come in a hard case. I had to make my own.

    What others should know:

I would not recommend the AV-46m for a First choice for a beginner. This gun has a hair trigger and no safety. The AV-V10 or HW75 would be a better choice. I would recommend the AV-46M for any 10meter shooter who wants to move up in class. I am very pleased with mine.

    Things I liked:

I also own an izh-46m. This gun is nearly identical in operation and looks. A few parts are sized differently but this one is a very nice clone. The trigger is super smooth and very easy to adjust with the included tool. Grips fit an adult with large hand very good . Palm shelf is adjusted within a 1/2" of the bottom most adjustment. Gun came with 2 extra transfer block seals and piston seal. Very easy to load and operate. Did i mention the trigger. Easily adjusted with very little first stage, you can feel a nice wall before then ease the 2nd stage break with 0 over travel. This makes the gun very accurate and predictable to shoot.

    Things I would have changed:

my one issue which i also had with the original is the bottom trigger guard and trigger adjustment screw for trigger pull have sharp edges. The screw extends just slightly below the bottom face of the bottom trigger guard. This in addition to the sharp edges on the bottom trigger guard dig and rub into my pointer finger. I read another review somewhere where plumbers putty was pressed into this area to make it more comfortable. I can also say yes this works very well. A better option would be to shorten the screw and file the edges (at the factory) The red zebra grips also have some sharp edges

    What others should know:

If you are looking for a super accurate , easy to operate gun this is the one. It is worth the price tag. I may part with my original IZH-46m but will put this one through a couple tins of pellets first. I was shooting RWS Meisterkugeln Pistol 7 grain pellets in a dime sized area off a rest within 15 minutes of opening the pistol. Wish this shop carried Kruger 10m Pistol targets.

Impressive looking airgun. I liked the looks. Glad I had P A add the modified trigger. Very accurate out of the box. I will enjoy this for years to come. Trigger was sensitive but perfect for me. Can be adjusted in a million ways to match the shooter. I did not have to change or adjust the sights at all. Very accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

The review that said the sound was moderate was firing a different weapon. Mine was quite a bit louder. Not as much as my PCP's but still a little loud.

    What others should know:

If you purchase one from PA you will not be dissatisfied. It is an excellent fun gun to shoot and accurate. I use the smallest pellets I can find and find them quite snug to fit in. Maybe with more use It will loosen up, maybe? Not impossible just take your time and seat the pellets and the firing mechanism in as per instructions. An excellent weapon.

Accuracy, quality of build ... and the price! For what you're getting it is a really good deal.

    Things I would have changed:

Find the red-zebra coloured grips kind of cheezy, but that's a matter of personal preference.

    What others should know:

Just a beautiful pistol. Feels great in the hand, tho I'll be using a Dremel tool to fine-tune the grip for my way of shooting. Kind of a hazy review, but shooting it feels just right. Have a Colt Gold Cup Trophy 1911 & an antique High-Standard Victor .22 target pistol, but this .177, hand-cranked air pistol easily matches them. Very satisfied with purchase ... if you want my (admittedly useless) advice: forget getting a cheaper pellet pistol & save up for this one.

Good ergonomics, excellent accuracy, easy to load and shoot. Trigger is easily adjustable and is very crisp. Best pistol for the money without going PCP and having to deal with pumps/tanks etc...

    Things I would have changed:

The thumb rest isn't deep enough. The original Baikal pistol grip has a better thumb rest. Not a deal breaker but other than that, nothing needs to be changed.

    What others should know:

I have been shooting bullseye/precision pistol for 10+yrs and have a NRA Expert classification. I have recently started shooting international style air pistol for fun and this is great to shoot the matches with and is good practice for bullseye shooting. I can shoot this gun almost anywhere which lends to more practice! Practice is the key to success! Would definitely recommend!
