Trigger is the best you will feel on anything under $100 and this is $29.99. The accuracy is amazing, at 15 yds it was all in one hole. On moving targets its a blast to shoot. This is not a heavy pistol by any means.
Things I would have changed:I would change the safety location to be accessible with one hand. Others have stated the cocking effort is too hard. For a young one learning to shoot this will be too hard to cock but for an adult you should have no issue. The loading can be easier but once you get the technique down I can shoot a round every 5 seconds or so.
What others should know:If you want a backyard/garage pistol...hell even a 10m air pistol this is a great tool to learn on and have some fun.

I love being able to sit down and plink with this pellet pistol for hours on end without having to change co2 cartridges or pump the gun more than once.
Things I would have changed:The front post sight is a little tall. My front sight broke so i cut it down to the bottom of the rings. Now it shoots more accurate.
What others should know:Its a 10-15 yard gun. Not too accurate ,but if you find the right pellets it can shoot to 20 yards accurately. So far i've killed 2 squirrels and pest birds like small crows at 10 yards.

Looks and feels solid, but...
Things I would have changed:Loading magazine is a pain, bbs will not drop in unless you hold mag nearly vertical, which causes a big mess on the floor. First cartridge shot great.. next four leaked down after seal issue.
What others should know:Expected better quality from Beeman, as I have several of their springers.

This air gun shoots well, the trigger pull is decent and it feel good in my hand. You can't beat the performance for the price.
Things I would have changed:Nothing really
What others should know:It does take some effort to cock it and loading a pellet is a little tricky, but not too bad.

the pistol is great for improving your accuracy -- and its almost as heavy as a Beretta 92fs-its quiet and the fiber sights are great in a lighted area. especially like the pistol going into safety mode every time it is cocked
Things I would have changed:N/A
What others should know:you MUST be careful when you are not in the house with this pistol -- it looks TOO real and can concern someone who doesnt know its a pellet gun

Very nice little pistol. Can not be beat for the price! Cocking is relatively easy for a short pistol. Loading is easy. Shoots fine. Great open sights with fiber-dots. Trigger fine for the level. Quiet.
Things I would have changed:Pellet reservoir in the grip. Seems like wasted space. Would be nice to have a Picatinny rail on the barrel to put a red dot on. Not sure if what is there is Weaver dimensions or just aesthetics.

The price is very good. Shoot very accurate and power enough for backyard and garage.
Things I would have changed:Would not change anything. But prepare to change the O-ring after couple hundred shots.
What others should know:You need to get some O ring and white lithium oil to change the o ring. After couple hundred shots it wear out.

Everything. Astonished at the engineering and quality. Great trigger. Very accurate. Great for backyard target practice, especially when you don't have time to empty a Co2 cartridge. One pump delivers more velocity and punch than my Co2 pistols. Handles a variety of pellets. Takes some pressure to close, but you get used to it, and it's worth it. I don't think this gun has a match for the price and what it is intended for. One shot at a time really improves your accuracy. Everyone should have one. Kudos Beeman!
Things I would have changed:I don't see one thing Beeman could do better. Even the auto safety makes sense for target practice, especially if you are teaching someone to shoot.
What others should know:First time purchase from Pyramyd Air. Customer Service treated me like I was their best customer. So far, the first two people I have showed this to have ordered one from Pyramyd Air. Thank you!!

If this gun wasn't so difficult to load, it would be a nice gun to shoot. I would like to head how other uses deal with this problem. When I get a chance, I am going to call Beeman about this issue. I haven't shot this gun enough to comment on accuracy.
What others should know:Getting a pellet into the tiny recess at the end of the barrel and into the tiny hole at the end of the barrel in Extremely difficult. I have to use a small pair of needle nosed pliers and even then getting the pellet centered in the hole so it can be pushed in squarely is again very difficult. Someone needs to make a loading tool for this. Because of the difficullty in loading, I cannot recommend this gun.

Well, it's certainly inexpensive. When you first pick it up it has some heft and to appearances the quality isn't all that bad. The sights are pretty decent and the trigger pull is surprisingly good for a $30 gun!
Things I would have changed:This is one of those proverbial "good news - bad news" stories. The first P17 that arrived from PA shot once and the air intake stopped allowing air into the cylinder. The good news is that PA immediately replaced it without a word of hassle. Although I've only taken a few dozen shots with the second one it appears to be fine. You should know that's it 's difficult to close (compressing the air). Kids and less powerful men or women might have trouble with it. Try to avoid touching the rear sight while closing it because you could knock it out of adjustment. Also, be very careful of getting pinched between the slide and the frame when you're closing it!
What others should know:Given PA's willingness to stand behind it, this seems to be one heck of a bargain! If you can get past how much muscle it takes to close it, it's certainly an inexpensive entry level target pistol. It's comparable to maybe the Gamo Compact which was about a $200 gun.

Good feel and weight, easy to load and cock. Like the adjustable rear site.
Things I would have changed:Lots of sharp edges! Got a pretty good cut when I cocked the pistol the first time. Had to take some emery cloth to get rid of the cut hazards! I know the gun is cheap but a better finish is necessary!
What others should know:This is an extremely accurate pistol. When I fist opened the package I thought I wasted my money,WRONG! have a 25 foot range in my basement and this gun shot almost as good as my HW 75! Well worth the money!!!

Great trigger, sights, feels great in my hand. powerful and accurate! Just an awesome gun!
Things I would have changed:none
What others should know:Just know this is an adult pellet gun! it does take a little strength to cock and a little practice to put the pellet in the barrel. I push the pump down with the palm of my hand and when its about half way down I hook my finger tips on the flat ledge right above the trigger opening "big help" and after I shot it a few times I get the pellets in much easier. I use Crosman Premier match grade wadcutters, by far the best for the money I have found!

It has the size, weight and accuracy you would expect in a much more expensive air pistol. It feels like a real pistol in your hand. The quality initially seems high, especially for a gun at this price. I've only been able to fire about 100 pellets through it so far, so time will tell. Accuracy was very good right out of the package, only a minor adjustment to the rear sight was needed. Power is adequate for target shooting and plinking, about the equal of CO2 pistols. I'm a fan of fiber optic sights, and these are very good. The grip is comfortable and feels like a natural fit to my hand. I am more than impressed with the Beeman P17, especially for the price. A real bargain.
Things I would have changed:Not much, except to make it easier to load pellets. Domed and pointed pellets are easier than the flat wadcutters to load. It gets a little easier with some practice. Some reviewers have said that they don't care for the automatic safety that engages on cocking, but I like it. I'm not in the habit of setting the safety right after firing, so it's a good feature in my opinion. Also, it be nice if they could make it easier to cock- it takes a lot of effort to compress the cylinder. I would not want it to result in a lower muzzle velocity, however.
What others should know:This is not a kid's pellet gun. It's large, heavy and requires some power to cock it. You have to exercise some patience in loading the gun, it's not easy at first. I think properly lubing and cleaning the gun are important to get a lot of life out of it. I've found some good information on line from previous users' experiences in this regard. Check it out.

A very decent trigger for an inexpensive pistol. Accuracy is also impressive for a pistol in this price range. Good sights, and a comfortable grip. Dovetailed for a scope or red dot sight. I don't know how long it will hold up, but so far I have to say this is a great air pistol for not much money.
Things I would have changed:It would be nice if loading access was easier. Hobby pellets are okay, but it's a little tricky inserting wad-cutter pellets into the barrel.
What others should know:Cocking effort is on the high side, but I guess that's to be expected given the design.

Very accurate. Fun to shoot, with a few modifications. Such a good gun for the money, I can't believe they can sell them at this price. Maybe as a lure to the P3? Now I want one of them. This is a great intro into accurate pistol shooting.
Things I would have changed:Safety would be easier to reach if it was on right side. The top scope mount dovetails are sharp, and make cocking the gun unplesant over many shots. I sanded the edges (it's a hard plastic material) of the dovetails, and it became easier on the hand. A final piece of Gorilla Tape over the whole upper reciever area between the front and rear sight, and the gun is a pleasure to shoot now. Almost soft, and easy on the hand, with no sharp edges. Simple fix.
What others should know:Read a review that mentioned the air inlet into the compression cylinder often has a burr on it that needs to be removed. This keeps the seal from wearing at the point it crosses over the hole. Easy gun breakdown makes it simple to get to. Sure enough, my gun had it. Easy to remove, and it may add life to the seal.

$29.99 What! Can't go wrong, that's like free...almost. It's sturdy, accurate and the trigger is excellent, very light and smooth trigger out of the box. Feels good when aiming it, not too lite, not too heavy. It's a better looking gun in person, the photo doesn't do justice to this gun. If you want an inexpensive plinker, this is the it.
Things I would have changed:Nothing really for the price.
What others should know:When I first got it, I though it would not take air in, but my fault. I just wasn't opening it all the way firm enough. I put on a Rubber Tactical Grip Sleeve for a nice tacticool look. Fun gun, accuracy and trigger is way above it's pay grade.
