Things I liked:

This gun is what I've been looking for, a perfect back yard target rifle. Not too powerful for my spinners not too loud and very accurate. And the feel of true quality in the hands.

Things I would have changed:

To my novice sensibilities it's perfect. Not a thing.

What others should know:

Nope

Things I liked:

I have own the R7 for a few weeks now, and have put about 300 rounds through it. Accuracy is excellent, and seems to be getting better as I get more rounds downrange. Its capable of .5" groups at 25 yards with cheap pellets, and slightly better with premium ammo. The rifle is well made, handles nice, and is a joy the shoot. The 18 lb cocking effort is appreciated too. The trigger is almost on par with some of the triggers on my 22LR and centerfire rifles and is consistent, and easy to adjust.

Things I would have changed:

Possibly change the auto engage safety. Its not a big deal, but IMO is not needed.

What others should know:

Well made, accurate, fun to shoot, and perfect sized for a quality plinking /range rifle. I wish I had bought one years ago!

    Things I liked:

This rifle is as good as Weihrauch ever made. Beeman never made anything, only imported and marketed. The Elite comes with a mounted scope. Wrong! It shows up in two boxes and you must do the mounting. No huge deal, but why lie about it? Saying so does not mean it is so.

    Things I would have changed:

Mount the scope or tell the truth.

    What others should know:

Excellent rifle, but I will not use the scope, and will put a quality scope on the gun.

    Things I liked:

PLEASE READ THIS. I bought this rifle after TONS of research. I received it and tried the open sights. My eyes suck so that didnt work( my fault). Got a scope. Started shooting it again. Rounds were going all over the place. I was MAD!!! 400$!!!! For THIS?!!! I was about to return it BUT i realized that the screws holding the action to the stock were SUPER LOOSE! Almost falling out! I applied Locktite and cranked down those screws. HOLY $h&t!!!!! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I am not exaggerating.. i can hit a spent 9mm casing at 25 METERS now CONSISTENTLY! Im currently looking for a place where i can really test this thing because its just boring hitting dime -size targets at this range! The short size of this rifle was also deterring me from buying it but it is NOT AN ISSUE. Eye relief and pull distance is just fine. I also bought this due to the easy cocking because i want my lady to get some. Its PERFECT in this scenario. BUY THIS RIFLE!!

    Things I would have changed:

NOTHING!!!! But buy some Locktite for your action to stock screws

    What others should know:

Prepare to spend $$$$ on lead because you can shoot ALL DAY with this rifle. Im using Crossman 7.9 grain .177 pellets and i can hit dimes at 25 meters. Plus the cocking effort is NOTHING!

    Things I liked:

Beautiful rifle. Superior craftsmanship throughout. I am 66 years old and I do not have the strength to pull down a springer with 30 pounds of pull so this is absolutely perfect for me. The scope was suppose to be dialed in at 20 yards but it was off so I adjusted and it is now spot on with EVERY shot at 20 yards! I cannot believe how accurate it is. I bought a shooting table and bags to get the most out of this rifle and it has been a pleasure to shoot. Love it.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing at all!

    What others should know:

Do not waste your time with other, cheaper rifles if you are wanting the best there is. Spend the extra dollars and you will have a great rifle for years to come.

    Things I liked:

The rifle is very smooth. A beautiful fit and finish. It came with a Mantis scope that was mounted and zeroed. It's the first rifle that I've bought, that came with a scope that I don't need to replace. It also had been shot 20 times over a chronograph. The signed chrono tape was shipped with the rifle. The forearm needs to be held loose, but unlike other break barrels, it is not as "hold" picky. For me, that artillery hold is just in front of the trigger guard. Nor is it pellet picky. Crosman Premiers group very well, and that's good because they are inexpensive. It is such a pleasure to shoot. I smile just thinking about it. I also bought an R9 .22. Everything above holds true for the R9 as well although it is considerably more powerful.

    Things I would have changed:

The safety. Once the rifle is cocked, pellet loaded, and the safety OFF, it must be fired to make it safe again. The safety CAN NOT be put back to the safe position once moved to the fire position. (same for the R9)

    What others should know:

The R7 has a short length of pull. It fits me well, but I'm old and only 5'6". A great starter rifle for a young person. The cocking is very smooth and effortless. It is light, another feature that I appreciate. It is not a powerful rifle and isn't meant for hunting. It is very quiet. It is a very accurate rifle. A wonderful backyard target rifle that is a joy to shoot all day long. I wish that I had bought it years ago.

    Things I liked:

The fit & finish is outstanding. It came with what is so far, a great scope. That is a first for me as changing the junk scope is the first thing I do. Not this time. It grouped very well right out of the box. I did have to make slight adjustments to hit the bullseye. I'm sure that's because the tester and I held the rifle differently. I have not yet tried the open sights which look great and the rifle comes with 6 different inserts for the front hooded sight. Also, this rifle has a length of pull that suits me better than any of my other rifles - I'm short & old! I can sit in the backyard and shoot this R7 all afternoon without straining my old self. My other break barrels wear me out in an hour or so. It's not pellet picky either. While different brands, styles & weights hit in different places, they all group well. While it's never going to be a hunting rifle with its low power, it is a tack driver and just fine for chipmunks & red squirrels. Too, it is very quiet.

    Things I would have changed:

The complaint that I have is that once the safety is off, the rifle cannot be put back on safe. One must fire the rifle to render it safe. It would also be nice if the rifle could be de-cocked.

    What others should know:

This is not a hunting rifle. Get a Beeman R9 for hunting. But if you're looking for a gun that is super accurate, and a pleasure to shoot all day, this one fits the bill. And with a bit of care, could be passed down to the grandkids. I only wish that I had bought this rifle, several rifles ago!

    Things I liked:

This is a beautiful gun--flawless metalwork and gorgeous wooden stock. It has a good length and cocking effort for me and my 11-year old grandson. Right away we shot just as well his experienced 13-year old brother with his Gamo Maxxim at our backyard targets 15 yards away. This gun is over-scoped, but the optics are good--I especially like the parallax adjustment not available on the cheapest scopes. Although we have probably only run three hundred pellets through it, so it may not be fully broken in, after I adjusted the scope for parallax and began to experiment with the artillery hold, my accuracy became almost breathtaking. I whole-heartedly recommend this gun.

    Things I would have changed:

Although Pyaramyd Air included a 20-for20 test and mounted the scope, which was well zeroed upon arrival, one screw on the mounting rail was loose and the large bolt in front of the trigger guard fell out after a couple of days. Also, we had a couple of mysterious shooting events early on, probably our fault for not closing the barrel securely before shooting or by loading a misshappen pellet (Beeman pointed). Several times as we were getting used to the R7 we got a loud crack like a dry fire. It hasn't happened in the sessions since then, so perhaps the pellet or our clumsiness was to blame.

    What others should know:

I had to wait three months for this gun, and I was tempted many times to order something else in-stock instead, but the R7 was worth the wait. It is great for small, young, and old folks; yet still packs a punch and is tremendously accurate to at least 50 feet. Learn the artillery hold and keep the scope properly adjusted. Also check all externally accessible screws and bolts. Although this gun does not seem to be especially pellet sensitive, I think that fliers result as much from badly cast ammo as from user error, so make sure they are well-formed and securely fitted into the barrel. Pyramid Air representatives have been uniformly helpful, patient, professional and informative--especially in ushering me through online account issues (my fault) and stock and ordering issues (a result of disrupted supply chains and a tremendous volume of orders). I am also pleased that I stuck with Pyramyd Air, rather than switching to a different supplier--they have lived up to their reputation.

    Things I liked:

I am very pleased with this purchase. I bought an R9 approximately 20 years ago and it's too large for my boys to use. This rifle fits them perfectly and is of excellent quality. I am very pleased with the quality of the bluing and stock. Having the rifle sighted in right out of the box is a bonus.

    Things I would have changed:

I'd like to see this made without the sights and instead have the muzzle weight. The scope is of such good quality that the iron sights will likely never get used. I'll probably remove them.

    What others should know:

There was a several month wait and it was completely worth it.

This is a very great gun! The quality is outstanding as well as the accuracy. Just got it and already put around 70 rounds through it. Got sub 1/4 inch groups at 25 yds. Already claimed 2 starlings. I wish every springer were this easy to cock and this accurate. The Mantis scope fits the gun very well. Very beautiful gun and very happy I bought it.

    Things I would have changed:

Perhaps place the safety in a different place, but no big deal.

    Things I liked:

This rifle is beautiful. It appears to to be of top German quality. The stock and metal finish are perfect. The scope is clear and brighter than expected. Also very adjustable. The trigger is outstanding. The barrel is top notch. Everything is great. Except the final machining of the tube.

    Things I would have changed:

I would have rebuilt it or sent it back ASAP. Instead I relied on the reviews of others when I should have trusted my observations. It shot vertical strings while windage was always spot on. After reading reviews suggesting it would break in and settle down around fifty rounds or that it was just dieseling grease in the chamber I was convinced It would improve. After fifty rounds it still shot three inch vertical strings at twenty-five feet. I should not have proceeded. Instead I dumped about $150 into it to fix some of the poor final machine work. That was because I had held on to it after the thirty day period.

    What others should know:

The receiver tube is very well and has holes in it for trigger group pins, safety and the pump arm. Most of these holes had sharp, jagged edges that should have been chamfered. Instead, the rifle had been assembled with these sharp edges that cut the seal and gouged deep grooves in the tube, piston skirt and seal. Fortunately the deepest gouges were aft of the piston seal. It took a 240 grit hone to even approach getting them out. So the clearance is obviously opened up a bit. You can still see the scratches a bit but nothing rises up to damage the seal upon reinstalling. I then used a 320 then 400 grit hone then a cobbled together hone in steps up to 2000 grit. Same with the piston. Maybe it is too slick for grease to stick but is sure looks great. Unfortunately I have no way to address the breach seal. It looks like it was surfaced with grinder. Still, ten shots after rebuilding it shoots >dime sized groups at 20 feet. Hopefully it lasts. The Vortek kit is outstanding.

    4.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

I had serious accuracy issues with this Beeman R7. The problem I was experiencing was inconsistent pellet speeds that caused scattered patterns or vertical shot strings up to 4-inches! For two weeks, and over 500 shots, I waited for the R7 to break in and start shooting right! At the height of my frustration, I considered sending the rifle back within the 30-day window. Instead, I submitted a ticket and STACEY H replied, It sounds like the issue would be with the lock up mechanism.  Are you placing the rifle on a rest when shooting? Could it be possible that sometimes you place it a little more firmly and maybe the barrel is starting to break back open, causing the loud shot and air escaping before the pellet?” I thought, “There is no way that is the problem!” So, I went home and tried shooting while “gently” laying the R7 onto the bean bag and immediately started shooting acceptable groups at 25-yards. Since then, I have shot another 300 rounds and the R7 keeps grouping well.

    Things I would have changed:

Out of the box, nothing if you want to keep a classic a classic. But for those that want to modernize it, in addition to Vortek kits, I would like to see a gas piston aftermarket upgrade. I think it would make this great little gun even smoother and more consistent. Even using the hold technique and proven pellets, the decades old spring design is a little inconsistent in temperature changes and as the pellet count increases in a shooting session; more on that below. The Mantis 3-9x40 Scope is fantastic but overkill for this little springer. I am considering swapping it with a 3-9x32 on one of my more powerful air rifles. It is so big that it makes the rifle a little top heavy meaning that a shooter needs to be aware of rotational torque as the rifle completes its firing cycle. Also, I removed the iron sights as they made cocking a little painful and they were just in the way when using the scoped. I wish they offered a muzzle break version with the scope kit.

    What others should know:

If I shoot 20-30 shots in rapid succession it seems like the tube, piston, spring and seal start to heat up and cause minor inaccuracy issues. It feels like to me that if I shoot 10-shots then let the gun rest for a moment, I can keep my run of sub 1 groups going without an odd flyer. I found that my R7 does not like,JSB Match Diabolo Exacts 8.44g! It does like RWS Hobby and Meisterkugeln a lot! Second it likes H&N Sport and Field Target Trophy. I picked the Beeman R7 due to the checkered stock and Im glad that I did. I really like the additional grip when standing and shooting off-hand and adds grip to the small stock. If I had to do it over again, I would have had Pyramyd Air install the Vortek kit, not for additional power but for better power regulation due to better spring consistency. I will install one myself but for the same amount of money, they would have done it for me before shipping.
