    Things I liked:

Let me start this review off stating that this air arm is beyond surgical for the money. The test: - bench rest (sandbag) -1-2 mph wind -30 yard from tip of barrel to target. - psi pumped to 1800 psi (hand pump) -10x42 Super Sniper scope / leveled / bore sited -Crossman Premier Hollow Point pellets (personal favorite) .177 cal. Now for the test results. I fired my first 3 shots and was absolutely amazed. All 3 shots were pin point stacked into the tree bark. I then fired about 10 more shots to get an average grouping. I got a .35 inch grouping at 30 yards. After shooting this rifle all day I found the groups to stay insanely tight from 1900-1350 psi. Under 1300 psi I noticed drop from targets within 50yards. This gun is beyond surgical (accurate) for the money.

    Things I would have changed:

Another barrel clamp. Although Ive heard about barrel flex but mine has none. I do not see one barrel clamp being a huge issue (although my gun is new)

    What others should know:

Hand pumping this thing takes about 100 pumps and is honestly a work out. After a full day of use, I am saving up for a high pressure air tank and adapter for this air gun.

    Things I liked:

I wanted an air rifle for hunting Rabbits and Ptarmagain. I selected the BD because it's light weight and accurate. Also, it can be shot on a bench rest unlike most Springers. I can hit tin cans offhand at 50 yards most of the time with 3-9x50 Centerpoint scope.

    Things I would have changed:

I'm a woodworker and I can tell you the stock is not Walnut. It looks like stained Alder, Poplar or something. You can see the sanding marks. Ugly stock. I think you could replace it, one screw. I don't mind the trigger unless I'm shooting at the bench long distance. The rest of the gun is fine.

    What others should know:

The 22 cal went through 3/4 plywood at 10 yards. I shot an Arctic Hare in the head at 10 yards and it did a back flip and died in a few seconds. At 50 yards it drops about 2-3 inches but at 100 yards it drops 3ft! Max range is about 60-80 yards I think. Still trying to find a good pellet but Crossman Premier Hollowpoints or BD Hollowpoints seem to work very well.

    Things I liked:

Very good looking gun. It's light weight and accurate. Very fun gun to shoot.

    Things I would have changed:

As others have said, the loading port is small, can't be in a hurry when trying to reload this gun. How about a screw on protective cap for the recharge valve? Surely over time that snap on plastic cap is going to get loose and be a problem staying on.

    What others should know:

Can't go wrong here for the money. Get the gun, scope, and pump package, it is truly the best value for the money. My first PCP and I choose a winner. I am addicted now and already looking at what my next two or three PCP's will be.

I HAVE COLLECTED BENJAMIN AIR RIFLES FOR MANY YEARS {SOME DATE WAAAAYYYYY BACK}I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE BENJAMIN DISCOVERY IN .22 CAL. AND GUESS WHAT ? THE QUALITY IS STILL THERE. {VERY WELL MADE} METAL CONSTRUCTION, NICE WOOD STOCK,ACURATE, HARD HITTING. VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS ONE!!!!!!

    Things I would have changed:

    TRIGGER & TRIGGER GUARD COULD BE MADE OF METAL INSTEAD OF POLYMER {BUT O.K . SO-FAR}

    Things I liked:

Lightweight, wood stocks, mostly metal construction. The pump is very sturdy and feels well made. Very good accuracy results so far, ragged hole at 10 meters on my indoor range. The trigger despite being all plastic breaks clean.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is plastic and detracts from the rifle, it shoots fine though. The stocks are roughly finished, but decent.

    What others should know:

A very solid pcp rifle at a amazing price. Very accurate with crosman premiers and hollow points tested so far. Daisy "precision max" wadcutters shot terribly through this rifle. Takes @130 pumps to fill to 2000 psi, @ 30-70 to recharge depending on how low you took it. You get 25 solid shots out to about 40 total. It's fairly easy to pump until you close on 2000 psi. I'm very happy with it.

    Things I liked:

Just got back from a camping trip with my rifle. Tried the air and CO2 for plinking. The power with the CO2 is beyond any other gun that uses CO2. The only way to shoot for an afternoon. Dead on out to forty yards.

    Things I would have changed:

Loading port is a little small.

    What others should know:

Unless you enjoy the pumping CO2 is enough power for this airgun.

    Things I would have changed:

Crosman shoudnt sa it onlee takes 25 pumps to get it back up to 2,000 psi.

    What others should know:

It takes about 140 pumps from 0-2,000 psi.and takes about 60 pumps from 1,500-2,000 psi. there is a superb spot at about 1,600-1,900 psi where the velocity and accuracy are best. This is the most accurate pellet gun i own, i kan get dime size groups at 25 yrdswith jsb diablo exact pellets. i put a leapers 3-9x32 scope on it itz 45$ at pyramid air. The superb spot at 1,600-1,900 psi i am geting 825-830 fps with diablo exacts which iz 22 foot pownds.make sure when you pump it you bring the pump up all the wa, it took mi pump a couple hundred pumps to break in and it got a little eezer 2 pump.

    Things I liked:

[Translation provided by a Pyramyd Air employee: Great compressed air rifle with very good presentation, great fit and finish. Relatively light weight. Safe for minors but this is not a toy. Excellent rifle, this is my first PCP and I think this rifle offers great advantages for this kind of loading system.]

    Things I would have changed:

Practicamente nada y si hubiera que agregarle algo, bueno un sistema regulador de presión low y full, dependiendo del uso, ya sea usado en interior o al aire libre o en cacería por ejemplo. [Translation provided by a Pyramyd Air employee: Practically none and if I had to add something, well, a low and full pressure regulator, depending on the use, whether used indoors, outdoors or hunting.]

    What others should know:

[Translation provided by a Pyramyd Air employee: My name is Juan Espinoza from Santiago de Chile. This is a very powerful gun, the loading is not very heavy opposed to what I had read, it is very simple, maybe slow but light weight, even a minor can load it completely to the 2000 PSI with no problems. In my personal case, I shot the rifle getting close to 30 rounds per filling and even to the last shot the rifle is still as accurate as the first shot, practically you don't see any loss of pressure with the impact. I use Gamo PS 18 grain, and they can penetrate a pinewood panel of 3/4" from 25 meters without any problem.]

    What others should know:

I ordered this package with the $10 test. I could not be more satisfied with this rifle, pump, or Pryamyd's service. Everything was packaged great. This is a great introduction to pcp's. Accuracy, ease of pumping, and overall quality are all there. No, it is not the perfect pcp, but is definitely the perfect beginner pcp with accuracy that will make you want to give your springers away! That is unless you own a top of the line springer(i.e. TX200 etc.)

    Things I liked:

The rifle, for it's price, is an excellent value. Purchased from Pyramyd air and received it with in a week. Arrived in excellent condition. The pump appears to be the same as sold for Airforce air rifles. Received the Benjamin in .22 cal two weeks ago. Took it out to the range this morning. My son at 11 years old can pump up the rifle with some effort. Sighted in with RWS target pellets at 15 yards in 5 shots. It was windy this morning, here in Wisconsin, so 25 yard accuracy was mediocre. The Rws target pellets didn't group as well, but the Hpoints were excellent. Superdome left me somewhat disappointed and the Crosman premier hollowpoints didn't do much. This rifle puts alot of energy on the taget. My son and I were shooting empty shotgun hulls at 25-40 yards. The results were entirely satisfactory and impressive. If you have to buy one air rifle, this one would be an excellent choice. THIS GUN IS NOISY, if you want to shoot in close proximity to neighbors this is not the gun to choose. The Maurauder would be a better choice My son says, it's really really good! RWS Hpoints hit the empty shells HARRRD. One I hit threw a 3.5 inch shot gun hull 15 yards from the 25 target holder. AWESOME!

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger although plastic works. I'm not fond of the trigger, but my son and I were able to engage targets at varying ranges accurately. My son says loading is not the easiest, and it does require some dextereity.

    What others should know:

Don't forget to get a variety of pellets when you get this air rifle. I chose the Premier hpoints along with RWS target, superdome, and Hpoint. It already appears that different ranges will dictate different pellets. The energy transferred is incredible. Don't under estimate the capabilities of this air rifle, doing so could cause serious issues with neighbors or anything down range. I'm looking forward to calmer to or no wind conditions to fully check this air rifle out.

    Things I liked:

I received this rifle 3 months ago and i can't stop shooting it. A very accurate rifle with RWS superdome pellets and Crossman premier hollow point pellets. This rifle is accurate to 60 + yards. I have taken squirrels and a armadillo at 50+yards with one shot. The discovery has plenty of power at that range. Pump so easy to set-up and use,but gets a little hard when you get to the 2000psi mark.

    Things I would have changed:

I don't care for the nylon trigger guard are the nylon trigger, But they work great. The rifle could have one more barrel strap at the front sight area. It does not seem to hurt the accuracy.

    What others should know:

Rifle is lite weight, tough, accurate and worth the money. WATCH OUT VARMINTS!!

    Things I liked:

I like almost everything!! I think that this is a very reliable gun. The air pump is fantastic, and it makes a great combo with the Benjamin Discovery. I've had it since Christmas 2008 (It's now April 8th) and it's held up well. However, I haven't gotten to shoot it as much as I would have liked.

    Things I would have changed:

I would have changed the trigger. Also, the body has a little scuff on it because it touched cement, don't ever let it do that. It's sooooo pretty. Also, where you load the pellet is a little small and this is annoying because everytime you have to go and re-put it in or shake it around.

    What others should know:

This is the first airgun that I have ever had and i love it. I'm only 13, can pump it up to 2,00 psi very quickly and even over a little. I have the .177 version of the gun. You don't really need many other things if you go with this version. All that I have bought are pellets, however, a .177 cleaning kit is soon on my list because there's one reviewer that said that it was dirty on the inside.

    Things I liked:

Look and feel is great. It came with the pump and it's very easy to fill it. I get quite a few shots between 2000 and 1000 PSI. I have not been able to shoot it a lot, but I have found it to be very accurate with a few different types of pellets at 20 yards. I need to do more testing.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger of course. This thing is just all around bad. Why crossman doesn't do something about this thing I don't know. If you shoot the gun enough you can get use to it, but it's just terrible at the start. This gun is loud! I can't stress this enough. If you plan to shoot this gun in an area with neighbors even remotely close make sure they don't mind. Other than those two things the gun itself is great. I don't understand why crossman wouldn't include the degass tool on a gun designed for CO2 and air. Just seems like a nickle and dime kind of thing if you ask me.

    What others should know:

If you are just getting into PCP or have been in it for a while this gun is a lot of fun, easy to use and it's the cheapest gun in the PCP class. This is one case where the old saying "You get what you pay for" doesn't apply. This gun proves you don't have to pay $600 or more just to get into PCP.

    Things I liked:

JJF in Oklahoma. I researched PCP guns for months before deciding on the Benjamin Discovery. I purchased the combo with scope and pump, it provided the best value for my dollar. As an old retired Soldier I have to make every dollar count. I installed the scope and pumped the Discovery up to 2000 psi. I fired 3 shots from my rifle vise on a 4x4 piece of cardboard with a Beeman target in the center at 50 yards. I adjusted the scope to the center of the low right 1/2 inch group. I refired and my next 3 shots were three 10's. No flyers. My next target of opportunity was a Grackle at appx 50 yards. One shot 1 bird down. Sounds like a fishermans story but 2 more birds followed the first. Three 1 shot kills after zeroing the Leapers scope. I fired about 20 pellets before the power began to fall off even though the pressure was still at 1000 psi. I repumped the rifle to 2000 psi and succeeded in downing 3 more birds, all at appx 50 yards. I really like this rifle. As an old retired Soldier I really like rifles and this one is a good value. Lots of power.

    Things I would have changed:

I don't care for the plastic trigger however it is set at about 5 pounds with little or no creep. An adjustable trigger like the one on my HW50S would be nice. Loading pellets is difficult, a 5 shot clip like the one on my Daisy 853C would be nice. A rubber recoil pad would be nice instead of plastic to keep the rifle from slipping around while on the shoulder. I will order a Benjamin Maurader as soon as they become available.

    What others should know:

This is a good starter PCP gun. My Discovery does not like the pointed field tip pellets. The Crosman Premier hollow point pellets that came with the rifle are very accurate. My rifle has nice wood. I had to remove the rear sight to install the Leapers scope. This rifle is loud as a conventional 22 long rifle gun when fired between buildings.

    Things I liked:

This rifle is very accurate. The trigger, while not target quality, is good. It is similar to the average off the rack centerfire rifle trigger. I bought it to help keep in practice as well as controlling the local pests. Pumping it up is a snap. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Things I would have changed:

The loading port is rather tight. I'd like it to be bigger. I wish it came with preinstalled sling swivel attachments.

    What others should know:

My 13 yr old has a little difficulty pumping it up. Strength is not a issue, but he's just not heavy enough for those last few pumps. He ends up lifting himself up rather than pushing the pump down. You may need to remove the rear sight when mounting a scope. Beeman discovery pellets shot best for me.

I scope my benjamin .177 cal. once I got it, with BSA 3-12x44, this is my first time owning a PCP rifle and let me tell you it is light which is good if you are planning to take it hunting or plinking, very accurate manage to put 5 shot inside a penny at 17 yards outdoors, for varmint head shot is no problems, I use to have squirells problem here in Tampa Florida better them then me, wood stock is okay my is walnut, trigger could be better.

    Things I would have changed:

quiter, once you shoot the other varmint run scare, lighter trigger.

    What others should know:

I spent a good deal of time researching PCP technology before deciding to take the plunge. I purchased the Scope, pump combo as it provided the best value. Figured I could toss the gun and use the scope and pump on my next rifle (not a chance). My first 3 shots could be covered with a dime. No flyers in the first 20 shots!!! This gun is Very consistent. Lost of shooting with little up front work. Nice scope, nearly dead on from the box .Good fit and finish. Well worth the money.

    Things I would have changed:

Don't care for the plastic trigger. I will make a new one from metal. Replaced the trigger return spring with a lighter spring. This made a HUGE difference. Load port could be bigger.

I todaly love this gun. It definately lives up to all the hype i kept hearing about it. I never owned a pellet gun that was more accurate than this one so far. Even over 65 yrds i was keepin nice shot groupings. And all my freinds would tell you i really hate it when i miss or get crappy shot groups. And the pest in my yard never stood a chance aginst this super accurate rifle. Every time i pulled the trigger the rats just kept going down. Outstanding!! Out freaking standing this rilfe kicks ass!!

    Things I would have changed:

If you dont have a multishot magizine for this rifle already it would really be nice. I would be able to chamber a round without taking my eyes of the target while reaching for another round.

Very easy to set up and charge with air.

    Things I would have changed:

Sights provided did not allow enough range of adjustment. Wood stock had some distinctly discolored areas.

    What others should know:

This was my first PCP air rifle and made getting started with a PCP very easy. I ordered (and have tried) a wide variety of pellet shapes & weights to use with this rifle. I planned to mount a scope, but tried to sight in with the open sights first. Even with the rear sight adjusted as high as it will go the gun still shoots a bit low at 25 yards. I then mounted a scope and easily got it sighted in. The rifle shot a variety of pellets fairly accurately, but being new it seemed that each group had a "flier" or two in it opening groups to around 1" at 25 yards. Not bad, but not quite as good as I had hoped for. I find the more I shoot the rifle, the better the groups are getting. The break-in period for my rifle seems to have gone well past 200 shots, but as I'm approaching 400 shots through it accuracy is getting better. It seems to handle a wide variety of pellet weights and shapes well. Charging the gun was a bit of a workout, but it just takes some time & effort with the hand pump provided. I shoot until pressure drops to around 1000 psi then charge to 2000 psi, and this takes around 75-80 strokes on the pump. When fully charged it gives me around 30 shots before needing re-charged. I'd have to say that this rifle is a winner! It takes some work to get it charged, but it provides plenty of accurate shooting in return. The accuracy seem to be good throughout the range of 1000 - 2000 psi. Don't be too quick to judge the accuracy potential of the rifle, as (at least for my rifle) the barrel needs a long break-in period. The more I shoot it the better I like it!
