looks and weight. i added the stock and purchased the real wood insert for the stock and forearm and it now looks like a much more expensive gun. the added weight from the wood gives it a great feel. mine has the inter mount and a 3x9x40 leapers scope.
Things I would have changed:i trigger is way to stiff! i am using rws pellets and off a sand bag front rest i still have to work really hard for tight groups that i know would come easier with a better trigger. make it scope ready without the need for a inter mount.
What others should know:great pistol all in all. mine is the first generation with the flat sliding metal breech and it works just great. looking to get a rifle as well but ill keep this as a great back up piece. crazy low price makes it available to all! get it! you will like.

Accuracy, power, balance, and at a very good price.
Things I would have changed:Arrives ready to fully enjoy as is, but as so many have done, I ordered (PyramydAir) the shoulder stock, a metal breech and LPA MIM rear sight (Bryanandac.com), and a Supergrip (RGGrips). The metal breech has rails which allow the installation of the fully adjustable precision LPA MIM sight, the plastic breech which comes with the gun does not provide that feature. The Supergrip makes pumping a lot easier and less painful (as in "flesh pinch"/blood blister).
What others should know:I am shooting extremely accurately with the 1377C since modified, even just one-handed (such as when Dirty Harry eats a hot dog while shooting at bank robbers). Modification is easy enough to hand over the job to a "monkey on a rock".
This is my second Crosman American Classic - I have one about 30 years old, which has a relatively flat metal sliding "bolt" and which shoots BB's as well as pellets, which is still in terrific condition. Crosman knows how to make
quality products - indeed I've also the Crosman Trail NP Hardwood .22 (from PyramydAir of course) and that's terrific also. I've shot nothing but Crosman lead Pointed .177 Hunting Pellets in the 1377C and have no reason to try other brands/weights.

I think that my rating says it all. Well built and very accurate right out of the box. Really didnt need anything except for one thing which I was warned about in advance thanks to this forum. Mainly, to anchor the hand grips as they tend to slide. A ten minute job. I used "glue dots" which are high tack non-permanent adhesives (unfortunately not available in commercial retail markets).
Things I would have changed:The plastic grips, once anchored, are fine. Dont notice any sense of inadequacy.
What others should know:It's a good gun. Dont worry about power. What I found was that having a lot of power (like from a 22 cal), but less accuracy is not as effective as having less power, but with the ability to deliver it precisely. Also, someone felt that they had to modify the bolt to stay open which seems strange as the gun is designed/meant to load while being inclined (at least slightly) tilted upward (vertically).

A close friend pulled me aside and told me he got a 1377c. I figured I'd look around the net and see if I could learn a little about this Pistol. WOW this is perhaps the pistol with the most after market parts and upgrades going. I love that. I ran out and picked one up. After pumping it 10 time and shooting it once, I really do like it even though it's multi pump . It's light and despite it's long barrel and pump handle it has a nice balanced feel. It is also very easy to pump, much easier than I remember as a kid. This pistol has a wonderfully thin body when sighting down the barrel. The cocking handle / bolt assembly is very attractive and functional. It comes with an "adjustable" rear sight which amounts to loosening a screw on the top of the barrel and manually pivoting the whole sight assembly left and right for windage. This has a slight affect on the elevation "adjustment" which again you loosen a small screw on th rear of the sight assembly and slide the blade up and down. The rear blade can be flipped 180 degrees to use the other end as a peep sight. It has a nice manual safety that's easily disengaged. All in all a pleasant surprise with good power.
Things I would have changed:The trigger is horrid but with a little work and a new #4 spring and nylon guide and a front spring to take out the slack it's now decent. The rear sight assembly cheap and crude. It is a pain to sight in and I have managed to partially strip the blade screw an easy upgrade though. The pump handle makes a annoying clap, clap, clap as you pump it. I cut and fit foam weather stripping and filled the handle and added a very thin rubber pad to the under side of the barrel. It's pretty quiet now.
What others should know:If you don't mind 10 pumps a shot, or perhaps 3 for indoor shooting, price, power, good accuracy and available upgrades make for a winning combination as a beginners pistol or a starting platform for your own creation. I have rough cut maple ready to replace the plastic grips and pump and a short steel breach kit, Williams rear sight and custom trigger are on deck.

The accuracy and the power.
Things I would have changed:More power, go back to the old cocking configuration, and add a metal breech along with keeping the new brass bolt it now has. ( I have had 2 of the older models)
What others should know:This is an accurate pistol, It is a powerful pistol, It has alot of upgrades available on the market and has tremendous potential. It is fun to shoot, and is a great product as is. That is why I have owned 3.

The look and the bolt how this little thing can do 600 fps
Things I would have changed:the iron site make a coustom one to come with the rails and a scope because i can not aim down those but theere are two the second one is a little hole and it isent any better its actuly worse.
What others should know:not for a kid very hard to pump

Decent accuracy, fully adjustable sights, and no more having to buy CO2.
Things I would have changed:I would like to see this pistol with wooden grips that are slightly larger. Also a lighter trigger would be nice, but it's still good as it is.
What others should know:I have found that it shoots best with RWS Meisterkugeln. At 10 meters I can get about an inch sized group from a rest using the RWS pellets and three pumps. Also if you have big hands, it might be advantageous for you to get some scrap wood and make your own grips. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive pistol for target practice, this would definately be a good option.

I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BE CLUNKY.BUT ITS VERY WELL BALANCED FOR ITS LONG LENGTH.IT'S VERY EASY USE.I REALLY ENJOY THE PISTOL!
Things I would have changed:I'D LIKE TO HAVE REAL WOOD GRIPS.BUT THE PRICE WOULDN'T BE CHEAP FOR WOOD.
What others should know:I'D BUY THIS POWER HOUSE AGAIN.
I FOUND BUY HOLDING THE PUMP LEVER STEADY AND STILL IN MY LEFT HAND(I SHOOT RIGHT HANDED).AND PUMP THE PISTOL UP AND DOWN INSTEAD OF THE LEVER. I GOT EASIER AND BETTER LEVERAGE. SEVEN PUMPS ARE GOOD ENOUGH!

Accuracy is good, but does need adjustment. How accurate it is out of the box probably varies with each gun
Things I would have changed:The trigger pull is way high. It should at least be cut in half.
What others should know:The heavy pull makes shooting less accurate.

rifled barrel, easily customized, add the extended butt and change breach for a scope and use h&n pellets and this thing is crazy accurate.I have 2 and they both are excellent.ones 30 yrs old and still shoots great and the other about 6 months.
Things I would have changed:plastic stock
What others should know:shoots best with 8 to 9 grain pellets.

The price is incredibe, and the number of aftermarket support to make this a serious high quality pistol is overwhelming. Accuracy is outstanding.
Things I would have changed:I hate the plastic grips and breech, but those can be changed, andf help keep the price down. I do feel, however, that crosman should offer a higher grade of this pistol from the catalog, being as everyone mods it anyways. For another $60 you should be able to get a set of wood grips and full length steel breech installed from the factory.
What others should know:Buy one, it's a great pistol. Or buy one already modded out, its even better !

Easy to use, easy to pump and load. Shoots fairly accurately right out of the box, although minor sighting adjustment was necessary. Good value for the money.
Things I would have changed:Wood handle and pump over the synthetic preferred.
What others should know:Different pellets have different results. H&N Crow magnum more accurate than the Crosman pellets.

Looks, feel, power
Things I would have changed:It would be nice to have better grips and pump leaver instead of the plastic.
What others should know:This is a great little (big) pistol! I owned two of these before but were the older model with the sliding metal breech cover which I never cared for. I finally broke down anfd bought one of the new models with the bolt which I like. This is a very accurate and powerful gun right out of the box. I think of the cocking arm was a little bigger where you could grab it better would help. You also have to watch for "pinch points" which is no big deal. I don't think you can buy a better air pistol for the money. Being this is my third one, I think I'll hang onto this one for years to come.
If your not a very strong person you might have some trouble pumping this gun its full 10 pumps. Still the gun works great an a min of 3 pumps which is good for anyone that doesn't have the muscle to pump it 10 times like younger people and some girls probably. It's a great gun though!

Pretty accurate, powerful, not expensive, stupid simple, easy to customize yourself.
Things I would have changed:The trigger is ridiculously stiff; the first time I was convinced it was still on safe... The plastic grips and pump are pretty ok i think, but I cant stand the loud clap the pumper makes against the metal when you pump it.
What others should know:I tuned the trigger myself it was very easy: I just screwed it open and took out the spring and compressed it in a vice. It is very light now and wont go off even if I smack the gun. Beware of the safety ball bearing, its a hassle to get back in when it pops out.
Pellgunoil makes a a difference in this gun, use it often.
Mine loves round balls like the gamo's.

Very good accuracy and powerful. Excellent product for a 177 airgun Pistol and for a low price. Unfortunately, shipping cost to FRANCE by Fedex is more expensive and Fedex has asked me also an additional payment of 25 Euros (33USD approximately) for general expenses and charges of custom duties. That does not happen with Shipping Method by USPS Priority Mail International.
Things I would have changed:The package of the Pistol is very hard to open. Impossible without breakage! There is also a regrettable confusion with the owner's manual inside the package because this manual P/N1377C515 shows specifications for the maximum power velocity of the pistol up to 495 fps (151 M/s) and in front of the box indicates 600 fps (183 M/s) ! It's disappointing and I don't understand why Crosman Factory cannot explain this confusion or mistake ? On the website or Pyramydair, the manual has the reference 1377B515 and shows specifications to 600 fps. It's very curious and I ask me from where comes the manual reference P/N1377C515 that I have received with my Pistol. I don't see this manual on the website of Crosman Factory!
What others should know:Nothing else.
