    Things I liked:

Having the steel breech and threaded barrel cap only add to the possibilities this unit provides at fairly low price point. Optics and moderator are easy to mount on it, although must be purchased separately. Add a 1399 stock and a longer barrell and it becomes an accurate and powerful carbine.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing needs to be changed nor can it be unless you raise the price..you will want to do that on your own and then you will have a custom crosman that will be handed down!

    What others should know:

If you want a powerful, accurate pellet pistol then you need to consider it!..

    Things I liked:

I have both the standard 2240 and the XL. I like the original , but the addition of the dovetail allowed me to eliminate some of the weight that came with the scope rail (no longer necessary) and the threaded muzzle was on everyone's wish list I know. I went one step further and tuned the trigger by doing what I did on my standard 2240: put polished brass washers, very thin, on each side of the trigger making it the smoothest trigger I have pulled on just about any gun, air or firearm. Not sure but, I believe it to be about 1 1/2 to 2lbs, and slicker than snot on a pencil. Also, pyramid and others class this gun as plinking/fun, but with the addition of the rifle stock, a UTG bug-buster scope and a power adjuster, I have taken, shot-for-shot as many squirrels as I have with my Air Force Condor. For the money this is the best .22 cal., not to mention the least expensive in this caliber, I think you will find. And then there are all the mods available. This gun is accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

I like the grips, but they are still cheap looking plastic. However there is a plethora of available after market grips so....eehh.

    What others should know:

I primarily shoot Ruger SUPERPOINTS or Crosman pointed pellets. My favorite being the Ruger's at about 17gn instead of the usual 14.3. They are inexpensive and available at Walmart. The Crosmans seem to be harder to find lately. And, my squirrel count now; at over 30 would attest to the accuracy of the gun, and this ammo combination. It's not just for plinking/fun anymore. Choose your pellets well, and good hunting!

    Things I liked:

I have picked this up for backyard plinking I decided to get a 22cal pellet gun a try! This thing has a nice bark to it so I got a DonnyFl Silencer also got a AR15 shoulder stock adapter to turn this into a little carbine! Its decently accurate at 25 to 30 feet I like the punchy ness of the 22cal pellets and higher pellets!

    Things I would have changed:

Not that I can think of at this moment this gun has lots of mods lol!

    Things I liked:

Accurate when coupled with a sight such as the Hawke 1x30 red dot

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing, as enhancements can be added later

    What others should know:

I've added a dovetail-to-picatinny/Weaver adapter and mounted a Hawke 1x30 red dot sight to that proving the pistol to be a very accurate piece. Because I'm shooting behind my house, I also added a DonnyFL sound moderator on the 1/2 x 20 threads dropping a few decibels off the muzzle report and therefore not bothering the neighbors.

Great gun for the price. Tons of custom parts available. Powerful and accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

Wish it came with sights. Adjustable trigger would have been nice.

    What others should know:

    No sights included

    Things I liked:

Everything! What a superb value for such an accurate pellet gun.

    Things I would have changed:

Addition of brass fasteners, barrel band and caps would really set this gun apart from the crowd.

    What others should know:

Expect to spend all your time shooting this gun. I have already forgotten about all my other guns...lol

    Things I liked:

Cheaper than buying a 2240 and a steel breech separately plus you get the threaded barrell moderator adapter as a bonus!

    Things I would have changed:

I build these things up to get upward of 15 FPE and technically speaking, I change the barrels, valves, transfer ports, springs, hammers, bolt probes and add scopes, stocks silencers, red dots, bipods etc. But you dont have to change anything on the stock pistol for it to be great!.

    What others should know:

Yes, you can modify them more than any other air pistol and they can be made for hunting, plinking, target practice or anything else that you can do with a good quality air pistol.

    Things I liked:

I am very pleased with my 2240xl. High quality, well made, looks good. Very accurate. It would be hard to buy a better quality and accurate gun for less money.

    Things I would have changed:

Just a little lighter tiger pull.

    Things I liked:

A great, great little pistol, especially for the money it costs! I can not drive nails with it, but at my age, and at 30 yards, I can put ten rounds in a fifty cent piece.

    Things I would have changed:

I wouldn't have minded seeing sights included. I had a front sight left over, but buying a LMA rear sight was not only a pain, but expensive.

    Things I liked:

    Solidly built pistol

    Things I would have changed:

It would be great if Crosman offered some packages that included some needed accessories, like a dot sight or an iron sight. You really can't use the pistol out of the box.

    What others should know:

If you're new to air guns and don't know where to start, THIS one is for you. You will need to purchase a sight of some sort (I got a steel sight kit from Additiv), but with that you're in fantastic shape. I much prefer this to my replica pistols, Crosman Bushmaster and even my Diana Model 34break barrel. It's just extremely satisfying to shoot. I know that Crosman makes a couple of target pistols, but I can't imagine that they could be more accurate than this. If you want to customize the pistol further, there are many third-party options available. For $99 you will not regret it,

    Things I liked:

Just like my 2240 except for steel breach, threaded barrel, and brown grips. I can not judge accuracy yet because I am still deciding on type of aiming device I wish to use. However I am already modifying into a carbine, and have added an adjustable shoulder stock. What can I say Crosman 2240 has always been the best, And the XL even better.

    Things I would have changed:

You may like the brown grips on black. I did not. I put the black grips from my old 2240 on the XL. Perfect fit, now all black, and goes with the adjustable shoulder stock I added.

    What others should know:

If your going to buy the 2240 for customizing. Get the XL version, it will save you time, and money right from the start.

    Things I liked:

PFA power, feel, accuracy great Ability to get parts and make modifications Self puncture co2 by pulling the trigger first before shooting

    Things I would have changed:

Plastic grips with wooden ones Sure likes to use a lot of CO2 to get that power but feels and sounds more like a 22 long when shooting

    What others should know:

Recommend spending extra for the all metal breech upgrade XL model to mount a dove mount sight
It's a single shot must load after each shot but loads super easy, pellets just fall in
    perfectly every time.

    Things I liked:

Looks and feel in the hands of the airgun.

    Things I would have changed:

Poor power output of the gun. At 9 yards pellets bounce off cardboard target. Inaccurate shots, hits all over the target. Would not have purchased had I known of the lack of "punch power".

    What others should know:

Invest in a more powerful airgun.

    Things I would have changed:

Mounting rail for optics. Pyramid should have these available & include in product info page. Had to order from Amazon after my purchase.

    What others should know:

You will need to order an adapter to mount optics to the rail

    Things I liked:

GREAT VALUE AND HAS VERY CONSISTANT VELOCITY FOR THE FIRST 25 SHOTS

    Things I would have changed:

The breach screw is in a inconvenient place. But this only applies if you plan to take your pistol apart for whatever reason.

    What others should know:

Everyone advertises this as a 60 shot air pistol with 460 feet per second.
With a crosman 14.3 grain pellet , I get a maximum of 420 fps. I think if it were advertised as 420 fps with a 14.3 g pellet, this would be much more informative.
The biggest exaggeration is the 60 shot per Co2 cartridge.
On my 40th shot, I was down to 210 fps. That means that any shot after that may get stuck in the barrel.
BUT this is a great pistol and I would buy it again.

    Things I liked:

Everything. Came with old style black grip instead of new brown grip that was advertised. Brown would be nice but the old grip is 100 times better than the new style grip so that was like an added bonus.

    Things I would have changed:

Packaging left a lot to be desired but no harm to the gun so that was a non issue.

    What others should know:

If youre considering this gun, buy it.

Very impressed with this little pistol. Very accurate and easy to operate. You get tons of shots from one CO2 cartridge, You can't go wrong with this pistol

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

You will find lots of aftermarket parts out there for this pistol. I've already started customizing mine.
