Steel breach , Powerful and accurate ! I like it so well that I ordered a 2nd one !

Shouls be offered with a scope !

I wanted a pistol I could customize that would have good performance out of the box, but with easy ability to upgrade. The 2240XL included the steel breech that was necessary for where I wanted to take it, and ended up with less cost than buying a standard 2240 and then adding the steel afterwards. Customization options, both third party and made at home, were important considerations. The 2240 line has a wealth of information available to do anything you want with it.

Since I wanted to customize everything, there really isn't anything I'd change about the base model. Will I be changing things? Absolutely! I only shot 30 pellets through the stock setup before I changed the barrel to the 14.6" (PY-A-6844) and got a good boost to the speed. Then I did transfer port mods, and trigger adjustments, and added a GravMag. Then I did some CAD work to make custom wood grips. But as for the base model - as it is, it's a perfect starting point. Excellent price for what you get.

My comments are based on my desire to modify the heck out of the base model. It's now shooting a consistent 30 shots in the 550 fps range (14.3 Crosman pellets) - which is coincidentally what my brand new Sheridan 2260MB shoots in its stock configuration. The Sheridan came because the 2240XL was so outstanding to work on. I can't wait to see what I can do with that one!

The 2240XL is a nice CO2 pistol. The bolt lever action is very smooth and consistent. It is relatively accurate but not even close to the Ataman AP16 which is the only other air pistol I own but it shoots well out 25 yards. Do not expect anything past 30 yards though. I like that you do not need to purchase an adapter for a silencer, the barrel end allows you to screw on any silencer of choice.

Better grips as it is just cheap plastic.

I own the Ataman AP16 which is an exceptional air pistol but when you do not want to fill up the gun with air from a pump, this is a good option. I am getting around forty shots from each CO2 cartridge. The accuracy is okay up to twenty five yards and after adding a silencer it is very quiet. Even without the silencer it is not overly loud but it looks way cool with the silencer.

Nicely weighted & robust little pistol! Shot excellent right out of the box with the added aim point sight and Donny fl moderator. I bench zeroed it at 33 feet. And with those Crosman Premier 14.4 grain copper plated pellets? I could shoot a 3/8" group! Thats no B.S. either!

For that price? Not a Darn thing! I should purchase another one.

If your grips move a bit? Put a dab of Silicone sealer in those index holes, a dust of talcum on the studs, lightly snug the grips back on, and let it sit and cure.

Performs as advertised. Needs a moderator to be really backyard or garage friendly.

Needs a front sight just in case your optic fails.

A great deal of co2 is wasted with the short barrel. A weaker hammer spring and a power adjuster would make this gun much more efficient.

Steel breech of course, rifled and threaded steel barrel. As a plinker i love the accuracy and punch of this pistol. Trigger pull not bad at all. Has a good grip. Co2 cartridges load easy. Bolt action is good. Well made pistol. I did call call PA for assistance in setting up my kit, got the 20 for $20.00 also and my gun passed with flying colors. Thanks PA for your help.

A backpack kit with all the goodies to get the party rolling would be great.

This pistol does bark like a Rottweiler, so a moderator maybe needed for backyard fun. Choose an optic wisely as can make the pistol heavy. You will not regret purchase, i think you will enjoy this pistol as much as i do, and for years to come.

upgrade to extended bolt and 18" barrel very accurate 525-550 fps 14.3 Crosman .22 Pellets

Pre-installed normally custom components. Pre shipment testing.

More custom components as part of package like silencer and trigger upgrade. Would also be nice to offer better stock.

Should consider buying adapter from 3/8 inch mounting rail to weaver base. Inexpensive but provides flexibility in optics selection. Remember to fire two shots after changing cartridge to pierce seal.

Everything! The feel, balance, bolt action and realistic sound levels are all excellent. The location of the trigger safety and ease of use are perfect. The new improved steel breech and added rear dovetail on the XL MODEL, create a very solid feel and more versatile pistol. This pistol is an extremely good value for its reasonable cost, and now is one of my favourites!

I mounted a red-green DOT SIGHT on the dovetail using an adapter for the Picatinny rail and the accuracy is now even better than before.

I chose the XL model over the standard 2240 because of the threaded barrel and steel breech upgrades. In my opinion it is a great gun for the money. I have not shot it a lot yet, but the trigger is nicer than I expected from the online reviews, and the weight and feel of it are very nice. I shot it over my chronograph and got the advertised 460 fps with 14.3 grain Crosman Premier Hollow Points. I topped it off with the Crosman red dot sight and it didn't take long to get min of golf ball accuracy at 10 yards.

I understand that with the steel breech and threaded barrel, this gun is intended to have an optic of some sort and an LDC on it, but some form of open sights would be a nice option.

Plan on spending quite a bit on co2. I have not done a complete shot string on it, but between running it over the chrony and sighting it in I think I got somewhere around 30 "good" shots.

Just like the Crosman I had as a kid, only better. Rock solid shooter.

I would like to have had some iron sights included.

The 2240XL is a nicely balanced pistol. It feels good in the hand and has a smoother trigger than I expected.

The only thing really lacking is the presence of front and rear sights. I purchased a Monstrum dovetail to picatinny rail and a red dot scope so the lack of the sights is not an issue.

This is a great pistol for target practice and fun plinking.

Shipping was extremely fast took only 4 days to be delivered. The 2240xl is the best update to this great gun like the full length metal breach, the 1/2 x20 unf threaded barrel. Plan to put a TKO moderator on it soon.

Give the opportunity to have wooden grips for an extra price, offer a moderator with the gun, make the barrel a 10.5 in hand the option of a Lothar Walther barrels

I put a USG red, green dot scope on it and what a tack driver. Works best 14.3 .22 cal pellets, Crosman, H&N trophy greens and others. Great price on a great co2 pistol, by one you will love it. The mods for this gun are limited only to your pocketbook.Plan to do a trigger mod and possibly a power mod. And wooden target grips.

Every airginner should have options to upgrades are unlimited love it
