Accurate (as far as bbs go), durable, easy, fun
Things I would have changed:plastic, make the barrel rifled
What others should know:It's accurate enough for 1/2 in groups at 7ish yards (daisy bbs) what else can you expect for that cheap

This was my first bb gun 12 years ago when I was 13. It is durable, fairly accurate, and powerful enough. I have shot mine 99% with bbs, and it has no problem hitting pop can sized targets at 25 yards. With pellets it is a little better, but because it is a smooth bore, you aren't going to manage tiny groups. Certainly accurate enough to practice your shooting skills, adult or child. Lastly, the price is great, it will last many years. Just don't leave it out in the sun, my first one was ruined for this reason.
Things I would have changed:I would make the sights smaller, as they are they are quite large. Might be because the gun isn't going to create dime sized groups in the first place. I would also keep the old style. I have the old one, and my step brother has the new one, and the new one feels more ergonomic, but harder to pump because of leverage issues in the new design.
What others should know:Definitely not a toy, if you have a child capable of pumping this thing 5 or more times and they are still very young, get them something weaker like a red ryder or daisy buck. It is potentially lethal with enough pumps.

I really like that it has pellet clips, because hand loading the pellets can be pretty hard sometimes. I also like the little weight to the gun.
Things I would have changed:The bb loading door. The one on mine always opens when I am using the gun and almost all of my bb's spill out.
What others should know:This is a great gun for hunting cottontail rabbits. Ten pumps, a pointed pellet, and a good shot and the rabbit is DEAD.

I have had my 760 since first grade, 20 years later, the gun still works, and still looks like it is brand new. It has never had a single problem in the past 20 years.
Things I would have changed:There is not a thing I would change.

Nostalga...I had the model up from this with the rifled barrel in the 80's but they're pretty similar
Things I would have changed:windage for sight adjustment would help it be a better trainer
What others should know:Just shoot BBs with this - I mean, with the BB magazine and 4 pumps you can really crank off some serious quick shots with this mother!

Brings back memories of bygone days. Lots of fun, and accurate representation on advertising. Not as powerful as I remembered it being but still fun.
Things I would have changed:Eventually I will put a wood stock and forearm on it, but until then I enjoy the lightweight and comfortable feel. Accuracy falls of quickly, at distances over 50 feet. Need a better rifled barrel or something.
What others should know:Haven't tried BB's yet but eventually will if my friend doesn't persuade me to sell it to him.

For what you get for the price its alot. Its Light weight has good accuracy especially with pellets.Good for younger shooters.
Things I would have changed:I don't like the way you have to load pellets using the strip its a nice idea but its difficult to load them one at a time if you lose the strip. They should have an another option and bring back the earlier style made out of metal of course it would cost more.I am just not crazy about all plastic.
What others should know:This is a hard gun to pump for kids its a small rifle and there is little room for leverage. This gun is all plastic except for barrel it feels cheap but it works well.

what negative comment can be made about this rifle? i cant think of one. i am 43 and still have my metal reciever with the brass bolt model and it still works!!!i picked up the newer version for my boy and was not let down at all-i think the pellet clip was a great upgrade by crossman as my old one didnt have that option. they are hard hitting accurate little rifles that are sure to make your kids smile. its been as great a training rifle for my boys as it was for me.....crossman...thanks for the memories
Things I would have changed:nothing!
What others should know:evry once in a while tighten up the stock. dont lose your pellet clip as its a pain to load the pellets without it. not impossible but its definatly easier with the clip

price...light weight...200 round reservoir...easy to load...solid construction...smooth, predictable, and fairly light trigger...accuracy is decent...smooth bolt action...I like the new look of the summer 2011 model I got (all black with a more streamline, less square pump handle/foregrip)
Things I would have changed:I would get rid of that aweful pellet clip, and bring back the old v-notch to drop in pellets...also, the fiber-optic front sight is a hinderance, bring back the simple plain metal blade...stock doesn't fit quite flush with the reciever when the screw is fully tightened...a little hard to pump...the plastic safety button was rough and poorly finished out of the box
What others should know:For back yard plinking and knocking around, this is a decent little gun...accurate with open sights to about 30', but any further than that and the HUGE fiber-optic front sight completely obscures your view of the target, and you pretty much have to guess where you're shooting...the plastic the reciever is made of is a bit thinner and lacks the texture of the one I had back in the late 80's, but it's still pretty solid...just to plink cans and such out back, it's a great buy for short money and will last for decades, but by no means is this a serious shooter

Surdy. Fires accuately enough, holds plenty of b.b.s and will last for a very long time with little to no matnince.
Things I would have changed:The tab that covers the ammo compartment can move easily, would like it to snap shut.
What others should know:I have had mine 5+ years, left it in the rain hundreds of times and works like it did out of the box.

I have a bigger history with this gun than any other. I learned to shoot with this gun. I have no idea how many rounds I put through it. But however many I fired it was enough that by the time I joined the army at 18, I went to basic and qualified expert on the m-16 and never ever missed a target in my career. I still have my 760 and bought a second one for another young marksman. I hope he is able to repeat that when his time comes to get behind the trigger.
Things I would have changed:I agree. I think wood instead of cheap plastic would be an improvement. "Build it cheaper in china" tends to get people hurt when critical components fail at the worst time possible.
What others should know:It's a great first gun.

Holds a lot of b.b.'s
Things I would have changed:the sights are to big. From 30 feet you can not see a can. The sight blocks out the hole target. There is no windage adjustment on this gun also. Poor sights do not like the pellet load either
What others should know:a scope or laser sight would make this a better gun

its variable pneumatic pump that you can choose how much power you shoot with. sight elevator. pellet/bb combo. 200 bb resovoir, 18 bb magazine. pellet clip. overall everything. It is VERY accurate. i can shoot very small bottle from up to 300 ft. away!
Things I would have changed:more powerful. rifled.
What others should know:only pump from 3-10 times.

I like this air rifle for practise/fun. Looks and feels like my mini-14. It is alot cheaper to feed too. I did purchase the Crosman 4x15 target scope & extra five round clips. It only comes with one clip. It is as accurate as the shooter. Pellets or BB's give a nice variety to break monotony of same ammo.
Things I would have changed:I would make a better quality 4x15 scope available for this rifle. Its worth it, I love mine.
What others should know:Rifle trainers recommend practise with a smaller caliber gun for cheap practise in between shooting the regular sized rifle with .22LR etc. I prefer the airgun option better.

this is a great overall gun. Not all kids will have the strength for it, but aside from that it's great overall.
Things I would have changed:a wood stock would be nice.
What others should know:the stock is definitely kid length, but still fun for adults.

Accurate right out of the box! As powerful as you would expect. Light-gathering front sight really works. Shoots pellets or BBs.
Things I would have changed:Include an insert so the 760 could be used as a single-shot without a clip.
What others should know:Just how I remember it. I have had a couple of these over the decades. Somehow it keeps getting lighter...
This rifle still does what it has always done: shoot's straight and powerful. When you pull this rifle to your shoulder he sights line right up every time - amazing.

The price. It shoots okay and I like the front sight.
Things I would have changed:It's plastic!! I think the description of this product should include this information. Makes the gun seem cheap. I have the same gun from the 70's and thouht this would be the same based on the pictures on the website. My bad for not asking...

The gun is fun for screwing around but not very accurate at all.
Things I would have changed:rifle the barrel and make of metal not plastic!!
What others should know:This is a "toy" as I call it. it made for kids not adults. I could probably throw the pellet more accurate than it shoots them.
