The longer sight radius and front dot are helpful. The gunroll carry bag with sling makes it handy to bring along. Quick take down and assembly. Nice to get a spare set of grips for pistol use. Very accurate, especially with steel breech, lighter trigger spring and Williams peep sight installed.
Things I would have changed:I already mentioned the steel breech, trigger spring and williams peep sight. These are not neccessary to enjoy the gun, but make it a lot more user friendly for me. The stock carrier bag seems set up to carry extra CO2, but as this is a pump gun it has yet to serve a purpose for me on this gun (of course I might swap it to a Crosman CO2 I own, so I am OK with getting it).
What others should know:Nice to see a version or the 2289 back in the lineup. Makes a nice bit of kit for woods walking and bike packing slung in the gunroll, much more useful, protective and discreet than the backpack deal they offered a decade ago.

Buying the drifter kit is to me a better buy with the longer barrel I like the color and pattern design that matches the forearm and stock if you add up what it would take to buy all that separate that comes in the drifter kit its a better buy this way
