Description
The Crosman Drifter Multi-Pump Pellet Pistol/Rifle Kit gives shooters an airgun that represents the best of both worlds because it can be converted from an air pistol to an air rifle, and back. It is capable of producing velocities up to 550 FPS and excels at both plinking and target shooting.
The main feature of this kit is that it comes with a removable ambidextrous textured pistol grip and a removable shoulder stock so that it can perform equally well at fast and light shooting as a pistol and powerful and accurate shooting as a rifle. With a rifled barrel for maximum precision and a host of accessories included in the package, this kit provides shooters with desirable features and the ability to customize it with aftermarket components.
The inclusion of a multi-pump feature on this airgun means that this bolt-action model has variable power based on the number of pumps used, up to the recommended maximum number, so it delivers specialized results for different applications.
In order to provide more accuracy when shooting, this airgun comes with a fiber optic front sight and an adjustable rear open sight. The kit comes with a rifle stock pouch that attaches to the buttstock with hook-and-loop fasteners and allows accessory storage, a case with shoulder strap for the airgun and accessories that can be rolled up to a compact size when not in use, and a tin of 400 Crosman Piranha pellets in .22 caliber.
To get a versatile airgun that meets multiple needs because it can be used as either a rifle or a pistol, plus an assortment of accessories in the package for added convenience, buy a Crosman Drifter Pump Pellet Pistol/Rifle Kit at Pyramyd AIR today.

10 of 23 Crosman Drifter Kit Reviews
It is compact and delivers fairly good accuracy. Power output is decent for a 22 caliber carbine.
Things I Would Have ChangedI would like to have the steel breach. Add some power. Little more attention to fit and finish. Offer a shorter stock for youth shooters. Add a threaded barrel nut for suppressor. A fatter pump handle would be nice.
What Others Should KnowMy gun was incredibly pellet sensitive. My crown had a bur that affected accuracy. Once I figured it out and polished it out the gun was still pellet selective. Finally figured out it liked 14 grain RWS Meisterkugeln wadcutters. These shot about 1/2" at 10 yards with a red dot. The worst grouping was Crosman 14.3 HP which was 1 3/4" at 10 yards. I believe these Crosman airguns are luck of the draw. I have a 1322 and a 1377 that will stack pellets in one hole. I have another 1377 that won't. Maybe this Drifter will get better with more rounds through it. It's still hard to beat for just over a hundred bucks.
Can be used as pistol or as a rifle.
Things I Would Have ChangedMetal breech
What Others Should KnowGood power at a good price
This is a great light-weight .22 carbine. Easy to pump and the included carry bag make this convenient to transport. A lot of mods and parts available.
Things I Would Have ChangedBetter sights and a bit more power. A better trigger and wider trigger blade would be nice. PROD 2-stage trigger would be awesome. I don't know if my issue with the LPA rear sight is a fluke or the norm ( I paid PA for the steel breech & LPA rear sight upgrade - $95), but my Drifter is shooting low/I cant raise the rear sight high enough to correct point-of-impact. Also, I intend to add a moderator, so the factory front sight has to go. With that said, I ended up designing and 3D printing a taller front sight as well as a factory-like rear sight using the plastic breech rear sight blade and screws.
What Others Should KnowIf you are looking at this airgun, you likely have two routes you will go: 1) keep it stock or close to stock with just a few upgrades (get the metal breech), or 2) spend more than this kit costs on mods and upgrades. I went down the mod rabbit-hole and ended up spending a lot for modest gains in FPS/FPE... But I knew this going in; I already have four PCP airguns that are great. I bought this for target shooting on camping trips without having to bring a tank for refills.
If you are buying the steel breech, the LPA rear sight may not work - I paid good money for a sight that does not work on the out-of-the-box Drifter, forcing me to spend more time and money to be able to get POI to match POA.
Low price air guns that are fun to shoot and make it your own if you like modding.I added breech and scope.Probably want do anything else other than maybe bushing pump arm and solid pin.Oh I have longer pellet probe ordered.Crosman barrels can be finicky so I brushed bore and lube pellets and seemed to help lot on accuracy. Some air rifles take little while to settle in,
Things I Would Have ChangedI know these are low price air rifles, but it would be nice maybe if crosman would offer more solid pump arm assembly.I think people would pay the extra.
What Others Should KnowIf you find accuracy to be little disappointing, trying lubing pellets and maybe pulling oil patches after you have cleaned barrel. If you play with these guns long enough they are capable of quarter size groups 10 to 15 yards with different brands of pellets.
Very happy with the weapon.
Things I Would Have ChangedRecommend make the pistol grips match the rest of the of the weapon.
What Others Should KnowShould make it clear when buy the steel breach must buy the maintenance plan. The plan instals the steel breach.
Easy to operate, accurate, fun to shoot!
Things I Would Have ChangedThe shoulder stock, it snaps on easily but feel loose. A tighter shoulder stock would be better.
Modular
Things I Would Have ChangedEverything. That's the point!
What Others Should KnowBuy one
Everything!!! I would gladly pay more if a version was sold tricked out with at least steel breech and a good rear peep sight of metal of course. These guns are great, Crosman's pump guns have been known for they're longevity for many years. My 1377 is 18 years old and still shoots like it was new. The 2640 is a blast to shoot around with also. Cannot beat the value these guns offer.
Things I Would Have ChangedOffer an other model all tricked out, all who like these guns would gladly pay the higher price.
What Others Should KnowIf you don't own one you are missing out on loads of fun!
This is a great starter platform to build a better rifle. Being a pump you don't have to worry about CO2 or having a compressor like you do with a PCP. This is a great sunny day plinking gun or close quarters rat rifle in the horse barn.
Things I Would Have ChangedI wish Crosman would put a steel breech on these from the factory. Mine came and someone at Crossman must have fallen asleep on the torque wrench trigger and ran the breech bolt completely THROUGH the plastic breech! Luckily they didn't strip the receiver. I didn't reall care because I was upgrading to a steel breech immediately. I guess that brings me to Quality Control if I was going to be using this gun as is out of the box it would have gone back to Pyramid.
What Others Should KnowIf you want a mountain optic for do anything's besides shoot in cans, do yourself a favor and order the steel breech kit when you order this gun. It's well worth the money just consider it a cost of ownership. It is a cool gun and seems to be fairly accurate I have actually enjoyed shooting it several times. Also don't forget to order pellgun oil with this or you'll be making a trip out to try to locate it, lol.
