Stock and barrel finish. It does seem like Hatsan put some emphasis on ascetics.
Things I would have changed:Lose the cheap scope and quality control... the trigger and safety function unreliably after half tin and completely locked-up after >150 pellets. I sure hope Pyramyd Air make its right.
What others should know:Hopefully a happy customer follow-up review to follow.

I love this gun. I'm fairly new to the air gun world but have been shooting all my life.I shot a couple hundred rounds with just the iron sights and it did fairly well. I checked and tightened all screws then installed the scope. Even with this cheap scope I was making good group's at 20 to 30 yards but the scope is really bad. I did some research and bought and installed a Riton fixed 1 x4x32. Wow. What a difference. 25 yards a tack driver. And this Hatsan isn't that fussy about pellets although the JSB Diablo Jumbo Heavy 18.13 gr I can depend on every shot. I'm getting about one in. group's at 40 yes but I'm out of JSBs right now so we'll see. You have to check out Riton Scopes. I paid $55 for the fixed scope and it has better glass than most $ 2, 3 hundred dollar scopes, comes with lifetime warranty and its tested at 12 Gs so a Springer won't hurt it. If this gun holds up I will be one happy camper.
Things I would have changed:Probably the only thing would be the weight. To get that accurate shot you have to be propped on something. Its extremely hard to free shoot standing and keeping it steady. Beautiful gun. Carrying it around isn't a problem but holding it steady is.
What others should know:Just make sure to check all bolts screws ect after 75 100 shots until you get everything loctite. I also had a problem getting my gun from FedEx. After it was shipped they originally said it would be here in 2 days but everydayat the end of the day I would get an email saying it would take another day. After 5 days of this I got up early Saturday morning and went to the FedEx warehouse and picked it up myself. Also, you cannot find a better air rifle for $200. Not that I've seen anyway.

Powerfull, accurate air rifle - when it works...
Things I would have changed:Vortex piston needs improvement..
What others should know:I have had 2 of these rifles. I used them to reduce the rodent population on my property. The first one lasted 2 years during which time I put maybe 200 pellets through. During the 2nd year the charging system failed - the piston would not pressurize. I sent it back to Hatson for repair. They sent me a new rifle. 2 years later the new 95 has failed in exactly the same way. I could send the new one back, again, but why ? I think its time to move on to another product.

I haven't received my gun yet but super excited to get it. I got the .22 Vortex QE model. I had originally ordered that one but they were on backorder so I went ahead and ordered the QE model. That's the reason for this review. Customer service!!. I called to change my order and actually got through to a live person twice without a long wait. Changed my order. Very easy no hassle. The only negative so far is I qualify for 2 day free shipping and they charged me after changing my order. Emailed them and hopefully they will straighten it out . I have to say this. I felt with another company trying to by my Hatsan and there customer service was horrible so I cancelled my order . So far I'm very impressed with the professional services and cooperation with Pyramid. The best thing was being able to actually talk to a customer service representative without long waits. That is key in my book!!!

Nice wood grain, accurate and mostly well built.
Things I would have changed:I wish hatsan would sort out their bore sizing issues and up quality control a bit more.
What others should know:The first one I bought had low FPS. I don't know what caused it, under charged gas piston, breech seal, over sized bore. But there was a noticeable defect in that first rifle. In the silencer there are two chambers separated by a ring. In my original rifle the hole in that ring was small and a chunk missing from it. I sent that pack to PA and got a new one back.
These rifles are nice but can be hit or miss. It pays to get the 10 shots for $10 test from PA or to chrony and accuracy test your rifle right out of the box to make sure it has the FPS it should (my .22 vortex QE is shooting 16,83 Grain pellets at an average of about 738 fps, it shoots heavy pellets faster for what ever reason) and to make sure your bore is not over sized ( you will know base on accuracy, we are talking 3 feet off at only 20 to 30 ft.

I have the QE version and its pretty quiet, backyard friendly for sure. What a beautiful walnut stock. Other companies are charging almost the price of this gun for a walnut stock upgrade of this quality. Better set up good backstop if your plinking in the yard because this rifle is a beast! Accuracy is very good, one inch groups @ 15yds,Thats the limit of my back yard shooting. The included scope is not great but its better than other budget bundled scopes you get with other rifles at this price range. The optics are fairly clear and so far holding zero since Installing the Hammers one piece scope mount. The safety is perfectly positioned as to where your thumb on your trigger hand pushes it in just before fireing. This has got to be one the best $200 rifles out there!
Things I would have changed:maybe offer the rifle with something like a BSA 2-7 scope and case package. This rifle is to nice to keep unprotected.
What others should know:If your like me and are use to shooting air guns with around 1/2 the velocity ,please make sure you beef up your traps and backstop especially if neighbors are close by. A picket fence will not stop a pellet at 1000fps.

I can hone my shooting skills cheaply in the back yard. For the price I think it's hard to beat. With head shots I feel it would take a raccoon. With no changes to the rifle other than adjusting the scope I got 1 inch groups at 30 yards. The scope is the first thing I'd change and will change with the rifle as it is nothing to write home about. I have not adjusted the trigger yet but love the fact that I can. It's definitely feels like an adult rifle. Love the fact that it goes to safety after you cock it.
Things I would have changed:The scope. However at this price you're getting a great rifle.
What others should know:I own over 30 high power smokeless rifles from 22-250 all the way up to 375 H and H magnum. I have hunted most of my life. For air guns I use to own a old PowerLine 880 which was a good gun. I also use to own a newer 880 which is garbage.
If you've got $200 and the strength to break the barrel, this is a fantastic buy.

First things first, it's a beautiful rifle. I love the stock, it has a great feel to it. Really impressed with the accuracy. I bought the rifle to replace an older .177 Gamo. I wanted something to dispatch squirrels a little more humanely. This in .22 fits the purpose. I solved my squirrel problem but created a pellet gun problem. Great gun to shoot, crazy accurate with Hatsan Vortex pellets also likes the JSB Jumbo RS and I've been using the JSB Hades for killing stuff with really good results. A great gun for the price.
Things I would have changed:The scope could be better or offer the rifle without the scope package, the scope is adequate but you could do better.
What others should know:You can't go wrong with this air rifle.

The Turkish Walnut stock is very nice, it feels and looks good. This is a solid, good-looking, walnut and steel gun, no polymer. The QE sound reduction is VERY nice, because it makes this magnum springer much easier on the ears and more "backyard friendly". The big, fat barrel end is a good grip for cocking. I like the power. It is a strong shooter, but not so powerful that it ruins accuracy. Mine is in .177 and it hits pretty hard, 8.44gr JSB domes gave me around 15.3 foot pounds energy.
Things I would have changed:Just leave the scope off, it's junk. I would change the industry concept of bundling a cheap junk scope with air guns, to providing a better one for the exact same cost.
What others should know:This gun is hard to cock. After your 30th shot, you realize this.
The Quattro trigger is a good, 2-stage trigger, but the pull weight is still hefty, even when adjusted to the minimum. This makes the gun safer to use, but makes precision shooting more challenging.

Purchased the .25cal, vortex last year. When I opened the box, I was super impressed with the craftmanship, the stock was just gorgeous for this cost. fitting excellent and trigger once you get passed the initial creep, lets of smoothly. Accuracy was superb at short 15 yrds all the way out to 30yrds, well within MOA if I did my part. speaking of doing your part, you will need to find the balance point while holding to get best accuracy, once you have identified this location accuracy is repeatable. I have had zero issues and have shot over 300 rounds and seems to be getting smoother and more accurate. part I am sure is we are both becoming familiar and worked in. I do not own a chrono so I have no idea of the velocity, it does hit the wood log I use for backstop with authority while flattening the Diablo's completely flat. They state 650 fps and I would guess this is accurate.
Things I would have changed:Trigger creep, but not a deal breaker at all, as stated above just take up the creep and it will let off fine in line with this price point. It does not appear to hinder my accuracy to the point of disappointment, however I do have decades of behind the trigger, and with all firearms practice practice practice...
What others should know:I am using the UTG 3-9 Bugeye and just a perfect match,

Things I would have changed:Pellets don't seem to be flush when loaded. I'm getting crushing on the skirts everytime I close the rifle. Barrel was very dirty and screws were lose.
What others should know:I got my rifle in .22 with the QE option. I'm limited to only leadfree pellets since I plan to hunt in CA. I tried two kinds. Gamo PBA Bullets (14.4gr) and H&N Baracuda Green (12.96gr). Gamo ones stick out way too much and the skirts get horribly crushed when closing barrel. Tried deep seating them but no avail. Shot two of those and stopped. Still have crushing on Baracudas but very little. All firing mentioned below is done with the Baracudas. Barrel was cleaned prior to firing.
Day one of firing:
58F with 73% humidity
15 shots fired for test
Average fps: 773
Range of Velocities: 812-735 Fps
Velocity Variation: 77
By now around 25 shots were fired in total.
Day two:
61F with 70% humidity
14 shots fired for test
Average fps: 746
Range of Velocities: 755-735
Velocity Variation: 20
For the last test I shot from 12yd (all I have to work with). After I kept getting shots in the same hole I stopped. Hole was smaller than a dime. Plan to do more testing at longer ranges soon.

I own the .22 version Beautiful looking gun, shoots hard and accurate. Love the auto safety. Nice and heavy and quality materials. A blast to shoot.
Things I would have changed:QC - my first one was a lemon. Bad piston, shot weak and innacurate. Pellets barely fit, and jammed several times. Barrel had a slight bend to it. Thankfully Pyramid was awesome and sent a perfect replacement. Great customer service. The bundled scope isnt very good, but works until you upgrade. A cheapo $30 Amazon scope was a huge improvement over the Optima.
What others should know:If it wasn't for Hatsans QC issues (this seems to be a common problem) I would have gave it 5 stars. It's a great gun, quality materials, and it's absolutely beautiful.

This gun had me ignoring my PCPs, it's that nice to shoot! And it will stand up against higher end break barrels twice it's price! The wood finish and metal are outstanding, and shoots fairly accurately out of the box! The action and cocking is stiff and very heavy initially! After shooting about 50 pellets through using the "iron" sights the action started becoming smoother. I then scoped it with an aftermarket scope...the included scope is marginal, at best! The picatinny rail on this gun is a great feature and will keep scope drift away. The gun isn't as pellet critical as some other break barrels, so I was able to pick out 3 kinds that work for this gun, one of which is the Crow Magnum! The more you shoot this gun the smoother and lighter the action gets and accuracy becomes even more consistent! The trigger is crisp and I haven't needed to adjust it at all. The safety works perfectly. I highly recommend this gun!
Things I would have changed:It is on the heavy side, but it helps buffer the recoil, so it's a good thing. I guess if anything, the scope...order a decent scope for this gun, it deserves it.
What others should know:Out of the box and until you get about 100 rounds through it, the action and cocking is very stiff and heavy, needing two hands to cock. I've got over 200 rounds through it now and the action is butter smooth and cockable with just one hand. Accuracy has gotten even better, on par with Euro guns. Lastly, LOCTITE (Blue) THE TRIGGER GUARD SCREWS, especially the rear one!!! They will loosen after about 20 shots and continue to do so until the screws and guard fall off!!! I had to put more on the rear screw because it still backed out after just a dab of LOCTITE. Again, LOCTITE THE TRIGGER GUARD SCREWS!!!

Nice looking and accurate; in the little time it was working.
Things I would have changed:Better Quality Control and Customer Service; repair or replace an obvious Factory "Lemon".
What others should know:I bought 2 Model 95 Vortex rifles at the same time. One would barely break 600FPS pot of the box. Sent back and when returned (WEEKS LATER) it shot average of 815FPS. A few months later, found gas cylinder completely dead. After much arguing and trouble for several weeks, they agreed to repair; but "NEVER AGAIN". Shot about 800FPS when returned and for a couple months, then noticed cocking effort and "crack" was not there when fired...didn't re-Chrono. Wasn't shot for several months, and then I had a Possum problem pop up. Got it out and cylinder was again dead. They did not repair or replace anything in my opinion. Only recharged the defective cylinder both times and returned. Now all I have is a pretty "wall hanger". I would stay clear of Hatsan as they didn't fix or replace a rifle with an obvious Factory defect from day one; and was actually pretty rude when asking for the second repair. Other rifle I bought for my Son is still shooting fine and is nearly 2 years old. Poor Service

This is my second Hatsan 95. Great quality at a great price. The .22 Vortex gas piston is smoother and easier to cock than the coil spring in my .177. Optima scope works great on my Daisy 880.
Things I would have changed:Nothing on the gun.
What others should know:Be EXTREMELY specific with any special instructions to Pyramyd Air. I asked that "the UTG scope be set as far back in the rings as possible" for their 20 for 20 Deal. I DID NOT MEAN take off the scope stop and set the rings as far back in the dove-tail as possible so that within 20 shots the aluminum rings have crept back and are now scored by the end of the steel dove-tail. Needless to say, accuracy with the UTG scope suffered until I put the scope stop back on. Spring or Vortex makes no difference, it has to have a scope stop.
