    Things I liked:

This is my first breakbarrel as I typically shoot PCP rifles from a rest, but I wanted something I could handhold for plinking and target practice. I settled on the 95 vortex in .22 because I have lots of .22 ammo and the vortex system is highly regarded. Many people's primary complaint about this gun is the stock, but I guess it's just luck of the draw because my stock has some beautiful grain patterns on the butt and the finish is consistent and even. I would have preferred a bit lighter finish, but it is a beautiful gun and it works as well as it looks! Within 30 shots or so the gun settled down and started shooting consistently, yielding impressive results for day 1 shooting. The gun is not hard to cock, and the weight although heavy is manageable and makes holding the gun steady much easier. Very happy with my purchase, and look forward to trying out other Hatsan offerings including the 135 vortex!

    Things I would have changed:

The included scope is absolute trash. Ditch the scope and lower the price of the gun to make up for it.

    What others should know:

Beautiful stock, great accuracy, heavy but manageable for offhand shooting. Read elsewhere that the action screws are known to come loose, so don't be afraid to lock things down with Loctite.

    Things I liked:

Everything. This is a real gun. Quality, Beauty, Power, accuracy, PRECISION, adjustable trigger. As quiet as I have ever heard a break barrel.

    Things I would have changed:

I'm no expert, but I could not get the scope even CLOSE to zero

    What others should know:

The iron sights are crazy good. They are so accurate. The gun is a tack driver. Resting on a pillow, it just goes through the same target hole every single time. Every time. I use .22 16 and 22 grain dome pellets and could not tell a difference in accuracy. The 22 grain pellets definitely pack more of a punch in my metal plate testing. The adjustable trigger is awesome, I set it for basically a hair trigger because that's my preference. You can adjust it to however you like. The barrel is a heavy cock, but that's good to keep the kids from messing with it. I don't have a bad thing to say about it besides the scope sucks... If you're looking for QUIET power, a .22 hatsan qe is the gun for you. It's phenomenal.

    Things I liked:

    - I really like the new shrouded barrel. Very easy & smooth to cock; no gritty feel. - The walnut stock on my QE.22 was better-looking than the one on my previous Hatsan .22...it no longer has the model designation stamped on the stock, which I thought detracted from the look of that rifle, anyhow. - Even with just the fixed sights the QE.22 is very accurate! It loves heavier pellets. - I LOVE that trigger! One of the best of all the pellet rifles I own.

    Things I would have changed:

    - I preferred the larger fiber optic sights in my previous Vortex95.22. - I would prefer a thicker recoil pad; less walnut stock might reduce the overall weight. I wish it would ship with an optics rail (like the Ruger Yukon) not those high rings. I'd just as soon the Vortex didn't ship with a cheapo scope at all. My bundled Optima scope was DOA out of the box. Unadjustable. Unusable. Pyramyd could (or rather would) not replace JUST the scope, and insisted I had to exchange the rifle also, to replace the scope. I felt lucky to have gotten a "good" rifle the first time around, and had no desire to roll those dice again, so I'll pitch the scope in the trash, and maybe get a working scope later...maybe from another online vendor? (I also would change/improve PA's customer service, as I had trouble getting timely replies to my emailed inquiries, and more trouble getting staff to actually READ my attempts to replace the wonky scope.) - Sling provision? - Shoulder stock a bit long?

    What others should know:

This QE.22 is one sweet rifle. The very first Vortex95 I bought from PA was defective (pins fell out!) and had to be exchanged. My second Vortex95 was very enjoyable, but its screws would loosen and FALL OUT if I didn't retighten them after just a few rounds! I lost one screw all together but the nice folks at Hatsan replaced it for free. I was worried that retightening so many screws, so often, might eventually strip some out. Evenso, it was such a good rifle a friend bought it off me anyhow. He loves it too...despite the loosening screws. But I missed my Vortex, and replaced it with the Vortex QE.22. MUCH IMPROVED. Screws stay tighter longer. Is it THAT MUCH quieter? Maybe a bit.

First let me say Thank you to the sales guys at pyramid ... You nailed just what i was looking for in an air rifle .... The Hatsan is quality thru and thru... The look feel and finish are top notch and the rifle was and is exactley as described by the salesman at PA....

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing ..... Well worth the money spent .... The 20 for 20 service sent me a rifle that outta the box is a chipmunk destroyer !!!! I have no issues with the optics supplied with this rifle... Its not meant to replace my deer rifle its meant to shoot critters in the yard and tin cans and this set up will do that all day long...

    What others should know:

If your looking for a well made accurate air rifle that wont break the bank Buy this rifle... My first but definatley not my last as i plan to purchase the .22 cal very soon ...

    Things I liked:

This review is for the second Hatsan 95 Vortex 22 Cal, The first one looked like they used bubble rap to rap the rifle before the finished was dried. This second one has the same look except not as bad! I did pay for the 10 for 10 and PA did inspect the shooting but obviously, they didn't inspect the finish on the gun. I would be sending this one back also but I did put a small scratch on it and I don't think PA would accept it back?

    Things I would have changed:

QC at Hatsan, better inspection overall for the 10 for 10 by PA, Option to buy a better scope.

    What others should know:

Sloppy finish, Spotty and thin in spots. If I had to do it over again I would buy synthetic stocks. The cocking pressure is a good workout but not too excessive.

    Things I liked:

This is a great pellet rifle! I love the wood stock and the wood to steel fit. It's about the same weight as my deer rifle so it will be a great asset to improve my accuracy shooting freehand. The sights are nice and I really like how they adjust. This feels like a solid piece when it's shouldered. The trigger is great. Smooth right out of the box. The safety button is handy on this too and I like that it kicks the safety on with each shot so you have to switch it off to squeeze the trigger. Great to teach gun safety.

    Things I would have changed:

If I'd say to change anything, perhaps improve the stock itself, but not necessary. The extra meat allows me to do some customizing if I wish to. It's a beautiful stock as is.

    What others should know:

I have this gun in the .22 cal model too. I purchased a mil dot scope for this gun to see what all the hub bub is about. I also can't comment on the accuracy but will at a later date. If it's anything close to my .22 cal model, the accuracy is going to be awesome. I just haven't been able to shot it yet to find out. That's why I haven't checked the accuracy stars yet. I will make a report to add to this review when I get the chance to play with it a while.

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

I bought the .25 caliber, and it is a beautifully made gun. The wood stock is gorgeous, and the overall fit and finish excellent. The gun shoots very nicely, and using the Beeman 31 grain domed pellets, it hits hard. Although the muzzle velocity seems low when compared to other spring action and Nitro versions (650 ft/sec) it easily penetrated fresh finish pine 1"x 6" (technically 3/4" thick) and sometimes blew through the 1/2" plywood behind it before stopping in my trap (this all at a range of 50'). Also, I love the safety switch. Far superior to the variety found on many guns inside the trigger guard. The only safety I might like better is on my Remington Express (read my review of that rifle - best $100 I ever spent! BUY ONE!). For the money, this is a really nice gun.

    Things I would have changed:

I'm not a big fan of the scope, but for a couple hundred bucks, it's more of an observation than a complaint. Plus the sights are pretty nice, so if you're a good shot, the scope quality is less of an issue because the line sights are user friendly. This all said, I really like the scope mounts. The suppressor has a seam running along the top and bottom of it. This is a really fine weapon...seems a shame that it has that telltale lack of quality on a piece that could probably be better made at very little cost.

    What others should know:

I'm really impressed with the caliber. It's my first .25 and honestly I assumed that it would be only slightly larger than the .22. The fact of the matter is, the .25 is materially larger than the .22 and not surprisingly, it hits materially harder. This is a fine gun for hunting, and will take down medium sized game with ease.

Quiet outside Possible to adjust parallax of scope Accuracy Good features compared to others in the price range .22 kills rats dead!

    Things I would have changed:

Not sure. This is my first air rifle, so nothing to compare against.

    What others should know:

I was able to adjust the parallax of the scope to close range at 9x using the method in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T97GCZqbZio

    Things I liked:

This is my fourth air rifle and it is right out of the box the quietest and most accurate one I own. The open sights are wonderful and allowed me to group tight shots after very minimal adjustments. The scope is just OK but I figured I would replace it anyways. That being said, after firing around 100 rounds through it I was able to put 5 shots at 20 yards on the target that is easily covered by a dime. The fit and finish on this gun are top notch! I love the walnut stock, and the checkering is beautiful. Now that it is sighted in, look out ground squirrels! Oh and another good thing, mine loves Benjamin hollow point domed pellets which are very inexpensive.

    Things I would have changed:

This thing is heavy but strangely, easy to hold and fire. I was not however prepared for how hard it is to break the barrel and cock this thing. I assume or at least I hope it will loosen up over time.

    What others should know:

I absolutely love this gun and for the money don't think there is anything else out there to compare it to. I looked at lighter guns with synthetic stocks but the reviews were always better with the Hatsan.

    Things I liked:

I purchased the QE, in.177. Like the weight, may be heavy for some but great for me,has the feel. Nice wood and finish.Good trigger, have spent more on triggers for long range rifles, than this unit cost. After 200 shots I can place in dime size hole,10.5 dome pellet at 20 yds.( of course I do have a flyer now an then :) ) have not shot longer. This is with the scope that came with. I will put better glass on that will cost more than this rifle. This is not my only air rifle,I am 66 years young,BBs to 338 Lupa,my first review ever. For the money I don't think you can do better. OH and after a few shots the sound you hear is only pellet strike. Rember if you use a light pellet and go supersonic it will make a crack.

    Things I would have changed:

At this price point I don't think you can change anything.

    What others should know:

Would not buy for a child, hard to cock and heavy to carry for a small person.

    Things I liked:

Nice gun dont know what other ppl are talking about it being hard to cock. It's not bad and i found it smooth with a long stroke. Nice finish, good fit, and worth the money. I had a spare hawke 2-7x32 with hawke ring that i installed. Iron sights are great. All in all a great deal and should last for years to come.

    Things I would have changed:

Didnt even look @ scope it came with. I always go for what i consider the top notch optics. Get rid of the scope and knockoff a few dollars.

    What others should know:

After you break open the barrel it has some rough machine marks at chamber end and no blueing. Seems they should've paid better attention to detail in this area. Kinda makes you wonder, that was the reason for 4 star overall. I wouldn't let these 2 issues hinder my reason for getting this great gun.

Great gun for the money. Very accurate. Five shots from 10 meters and could cover them with a dime.

    Things I would have changed:

Sloppy finish. Spotty and thin in spots.

    What others should know:

It's really worth the money. I had purchased this gun in .22 and loved it so much I ordered one in .177. The first one was a gem in every way. The finish was not as good on the second one. I had heard that this could happen so I did not send it back. The second gun was just as accurate. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Things I liked:

I absolutely LOVE this air rifle. Walnut stock on a German made barrel. The rifle is relatively light and shoulders very well. The "iron" sights were spot on. The Optima scope is a 3x9 and the glass is good IMHO. Much better than the 4x I got last year with cloudy optics. Trigger is very good. I will not mess with it. Waiting on dovetail mounts for my Bug Buster scope.

    Things I would have changed:

Loctite the rear screw of the trigger guard as soon as you get this awesome rifle. It holds the stock to the barrel. It will work loose very quickly and your point of aim will shift. Loctite the scope mounts. This rifle broke a Nikon scope in less than 3 days (scope was/is air rifle rated). You do not feel much recoil at all but this rifle will find any weak spots...loose screws or scopes.

    What others should know:

I own an Air Arms TX200 MKIII with a beautiful Hawke scope mounted. The stock is beech wood. Add another 100.00 for walnut(no thanks). I have about a $1000.00 even in that rifle. I should have gotten the .22 version. The .177 looks like a grain of sand compared to the .25 cal. I prefer to shoot the Hatsan 95 in .25 cal all day long. I could see the AA for indoor precision shooting but for outdoor plinking...the .25 hits like a freight train and is just plain fun. Get this on a sale and the deal becomes even more incredible. Very pleased.

Powerful the few shots I took were very accurate and hit like a brick, looks beautiful, really wanted this rifle, I know the quality is there, it just wasn't to be for me, not this particular air gun anyway...

    Things I would have changed:

QC at Hatsan and better inspection with the 10 for 10 by my experience. But that was only my experience. I still recommend it without question.

    What others should know:

I had to exchange the Hatsan 95 V -22 twice, its a shame because it really is nice, It was not to be for me though, so instead of going for a 3rd Hatsan, I chose an RWS 350 Magnum, I will soon be giving a review on that rifle. To me 'Hatsan seems to be a truly wonderful rifle just some Quality Control issues" -Learn the "Artillery Hold" for these spring or gas spring piston air rifles. It's a must! After a couple days I'm already getting dime to nickel sized groupings at at 20-25 yards, and getting better. I can't even imagine after the rifle is broken in. Getting the feel ya know? If you've got a problem, P. AIR will help you. Don't be deterred by what happened to me with the Hatsan 95 Vortex okay, It has much potential. I believe the quality control at Hatsan needs a little improvement is all. But for under 200 bucks, it is well made, and others who shoot them will tell you so. It happens. Thank you PA! Shalom, Blessings & Peace

    Things I would have changed:

Put a weaver picatinny rail on it. The dovetail with the scope stop does seem to be working well.

    What others should know:

I ordered a leapers scope with utg one pc rail and didn't put them on the gun until 400 shots and the gun smoothed out. This gun shoots jsb 15.89 at 18.5 ft lbs and very accurate out to 40 yds. Don't be afraid to get this gun. Compared favorably with my rws 34 and has better power. There's a very good video on adjusting the trigger by Rick Eustler at airgun experts. It was simple to get mine down to just over 3 lbs. Nothing bad here!!!

    Things I liked:

The fit & finish of the rifle I received is real nice. And there were NO rattles when I shook it. It is a hard hitting with pretty accuracy out to 30 yards. The open sights are bright & clearly seen even on the most overcast days. The noise level is less than a .22 [cal] short rim fire rifle & there is very little recoil in the firing cycle. The trigger is very responsive right out of the box. The weight was also a real surprise, on how light it was. This is a very good rifle for dealing with those garden pests, that like to raid it. You could take up to a racoon sized target with 30 yards with no problem/s.

    Things I would have changed:

I do have some concerns though. When the piston drives home there is still a "twangy" sound. I would also put a rail for the scope mounting, [I like to shoot with military peep sights] & changeable front sight [once again for military peep sight systems] And I would like a sling mount for it. [for the long walks with it] I would also put a longer barrel on for increased distance shooting.

    What others should know:

From what I can tell the max effective range of this rifle is about 30 yards [from what I can tell on my range] The break barrel does take some getting used to & the "Bear Trap" device is a bit tough for closing the barrel after loading, but once you get used to it, it is very manageable. All in all this is a decent rifle, for the price point. I had no real issues with the fpe out to about 30 yards, but the energy levels seem to drop off from there.
