What others should know:

This will be one of several reviews concerning this rifle. I’ll add a review every couple of weeks or so. I’ve been using firearms for years, retired from the military; I would consider myself an expert with firearms. I purchased this rifle, scope and pellets on Wednesday and received it on Friday. Love PyramydAir 2 day shipping. Unfortunately the rifle and the scope were severely damaged during shipping. It actually looked like the package had been dragged the last couple of miles. The customer service at PyramydAir is outstanding though. They sent me a new rifle, scope and pellets and I had them in 2 business days. I didn’t send the pellets back because they told me to just keep them. That’s was 60 dollars in pellets. Thanks PyramydAir. I took this rifle out of the box, examined it, it was in mint condition, and let me just say this; it is one awesome looking beast. Prior to shooting I gave it a once over and removed all debris from the barrel. I’ve read all the other reviews on this rifle (various other internet sites too) and I was anticipating a number of things; a pretty hard cocking effort, a loud report, heavy and “kicks like a mule”. The cocking effort is not listed on the description so I called PyramydAir and was told that it was the same as the 125. That’s a cocking effort of 50lbs, and that sounds about right because it’s harder to cock than my break barrels. This being said don’t let that hinder you from buying this rifle. I shot it about 75 times the first night. I place the butt of the rifle on a waist high table use my left hand to push the button that releases the lever, and then cock it with my right hand. It does take a moderate amount of effort to cock, but once you develop your own technique and unique cocking style, it’s easy. I’ve been shooting about 75 rounds per sitting. I’m using the Exact Jumbo 18.13 recommended by PyramydAir. Thanks again PyramydAir. I’m using the UTG leaper 3x9x40 and it only took 6 shots to get it scoped in at 18 yards. I placed cans at 30 and 50 yards and aimed center mass. I turned the 50 yard can length wise so the only part of the can visible was the bottom. I was shooting standing up while leaning against the wall. A little high at thirty and dead on at 50, definitely the most accurate air rifle I have ever shot and it’s not that loud. The first couple dozen rounds were louder but has quieted down now. I ordered a 4x16x44 UTG Leapers because I think this air rifle has some serious potential. At 15 yards this pellet goes through an inch of cedar. Recoil…. I have it pulled pretty tight in my shoulder so I really don’t feel that much recoil. My wife shot it several times at 15 yards, standing up leaning against the wall; all 3 shots looked like one bigger pellet hole. She did make a comment about the recoil though. The one thing I really like about this rifle is that it is not very hold sensitive like all other air rifles I have shot. I shoot this like I would a regular firearm; I rest it in my palm and pull it pretty tight into my shoulder and lean against the wall or a tree or the prone position and BANG. So far the pellet is hitting pretty close to where I put the cross hairs. As far as the trigger go’s, I was surprised a few times when I first fired it, wasn’t expecting that easy of a trigger pull. I have quite a bit of experience with all types of air rifles and this is the sweetest trigger yet, and it is a 2 stage adjustable. Haven’t attempted to adjust yet but I plan to in the future. For those of us who recognize the benefits of an easy trigger pull will definitely appreciate this one. I’ve shot about 200 rounds now, same pellets, same results, quieter, little easier to cock, if utilizing a tight hold I don’t notice the recoil, using a loose artillery hold the recoil will be noticed. This is a high quality, excellent shooting air rifle. This is in my opinion, the Browning 308 of air rifles. Can you buy a better, more accurate, air rifle, of course you can, but why spend 800 dollars if you don’t have to.

    Things I liked:

This particular Hatsan underlever air rifle is both durable and attractive. Mine is .25, because I recently discovered I really like this caliber that I snubbed for years... Live and learn. Anyway, I like the fiber optic sights, adjustable cheek rest, adjustable draw, the adjustable trigger, and the fixed barrel that certainly provides consistent accuracy with various pellets I've been testing. When warmer weather arrives, I'll conduct more extensive penetration, accuracy, and velocity tests.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing.

    What others should know:

This air rifle is relatively large and heavy. It also requires more than a little physical effort to cock. And it is rather slow to operate in comparison to breakbarrels. None of this bothers me. But prospective buyers might consider these to be problems for them.

You need long arms to cock this thing. But it shoots great.

    Things I liked:

I love the fact that this airgun has heft & plenty of power to boot - also it's pretty darn accurate out to 50yards and beyond. the cocking effort isn't too bad either, however... my .25 has quite a good kick to it- and because of that kick the locking mechanism that keeps the underlever cocking arm in place pops open releasing the underlever and thus it drops down a few inches. I was shooting heavier lead pellets - I figured the heavier the pellet the less recoil , but not so, it has not happened with the lighter alloy pellets- only with the lead pellets. I think they need to install a heavier spring in the mechanism.

    Things I would have changed:

yes. the spring in the locking mechanism for the under lever cocking arm needs to be a bit stronger to accommodate the heavy recoil.

.25cal. Well made with a durable synthetic stock. Powerful. Accurate. Nice styling with a working sound moderator. Comes with sling mounts.

    Things I would have changed:

    I smoothed the sharp edges.

    What others should know:

This rifle is a super buy. Not only for it's good looks...but its super accurate, bulit for durability & has more power potential over the factory settings.. It's self contained "AIR spring" is unique because it can be depressurized for constant plinking & target practice, or with a "PCP hand pump," you can boost the pressure for hunting! It's weight is definitely a plus, because it helps control shot accuracy & recoil... I have "personally modified" my own .25cal mod 150 sniper, to chronograph at 1089 fps with lead free 16.54 grain pellets. Using PA's calculator that's 43.57 FPE! & 871 fps with Crow Magnum 26.23 grain pellets... Using PA's calculator that's 44.2 FPE! With scope, I consistently hit a golf ball at 50yrds... I think it has real hunting potential..

    Things I would have changed:

Get rid of the cheap "bipod" that comes with it. If you happen to get one with yours.

    What others should know:

My review of the Hatsan Torpedo 150 Sniper Vortex. First off let me tell you that I've had mine for 2 years now and love it. Used to have a break barrel (springer) and I was all over the target unless I put on my military death grip. I like the idea of under the barrel lever for cocking. THE BARREL DOES NOT MOVE. More accurate? I would say so, no barrel “droop” here. I shoot at 30 yards with a scope and constantly put my (or the rifles) favorite pellets right on target. When you first pick one of these up you think heavy, but heavy is good for target shooting from a bench. No movement!! Looks and style.....this air rifle has it all. Bolt action and single shot, but that's A-OK when your going for the bullseye 30 yards away. For the money I don't think you can go wrong with the HATSAN TORPEDO 150 SNIPER VORTEX.

    Things I liked:

This gun has power. H&N 19.9's average 750fps, JSB 25.3's average 680fps. The pistol grip stock feels comfortable and has sling swivels if you want to attach a sling. Sights are fiber optic and easy to use and don't disappear in dimly lit areas. The adjustable cheek weld stock is a nice touch and something that I use. Fairly quiet for such a powerful air rifle. Accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

I would break some of the sharp edges around the loading port. They are uncomfortable and make your fingers sore after a while. I would center the barrel better, I have to adjust the rear sight way left to get on target.

    What others should know:

Gun is heavy and fairly difficult to cock. The stock screws will loosen with use and should be removed and installed with Loctite on them. The loading port is too small for someone with large fingers and makes it harder to load than a break barrel. The limited room makes loading a pellet straight difficult. Not perfect but overall I really like this rifle.

This rifle is highly powerful, good for squirrel hunting and general fun. I mounted a leapers utg 3-9 x 40 true hunter and using beeman 21.14 grain pellets i get very small groupings it is very accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

I read many reviews including a bipod, I did not get a bipod but a sling, i ordered a sling too so now i have two slings, no biggie but this is a mammoth of a gun a bipod would be very beneficial.

    What others should know:

The locking mechanism for the cocking arm was loose on my rifle causing it to fall when i fire, one side of the gold piece can be tightened with pliers to fix this.

The muzzle energy and various features included with this package the cocking effort though noticeably harder is not at all impossible but I'm a 6' dude in his mid 20s and I have pure enthusiast running through my veins so I may just not notice because my friends definitely struggle to finesse this beast

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe tell us where the lead bricks that are hiding inside the gun are because the gun is heavy The trigger honestly feels like it caters to the Monte Carlo stock style

    What others should know:

I'll try to make this as productive as possible because none of the reviews disclosed anything I discovered after purchasing this product When you rotate the breech to load a pellet you're actually rotating the whole barrel :0 it sits freely and slides forward within the tube when you slide the bolt forward and when you close the breech you're forcing it against an air seal Maybe it's a personal preference thing but the Quattro trigger feels better with a Monte Carlo stock over the thumbhole Have I mentioned how this thing kicks and how heavy it is ??? I have the gamo accu underlever as well and this gun makes that feel like a daisy 880 power line that's how beefy and heavy it is I also must mention if the gamo accu compression tube is roughly 1" in diameter then I have to guesstimate that this compression tube is almost 1.5" it's noticeably bigger which is where I'm assuming the extra weight and power comes from

    Things I liked:

I just got this rifle yesterday and got it cleaned and scoped. I shot it about 200 times today. I am using the JBS Match Exact King Diabolo's at 25.39 gr. After about 150 shots at different ranges I shot it at 20 yards off the bench through the chronograph and the holes were all touching or so close they looked like they were touching (5 shots). The average FPS was 655, little slower than expected. I really liked the accuracy at that range. I like the feel of the rifle overall. The trigger is smooth from the factory. It has a smooth cocking mechanism. I am an average build 68 year old man and this rifle is nothing to cock. I was worried I would have trouble cocking this rifle from all the reviews saying how hard it is to cock, well don't worry about that, it isn't a problem. I like the fact that you can raise the cheek piece to get your eye adjusted to the proper scope height. I like the feel of the synthetic thumb hole stock, my first.

    Things I would have changed:

I would enlarge the opening where you have to load the pellet into the barrel, someone with large fingers would have a problem loading a .25 caliber pellet I am sure. Also I would grind the sharp edges on all the metal in the loading area. My rifle has really sharp edges in the loading area and if it looks like I am going to keep this rifle then I am going to have to file or grind that razor edge down. If I am not careful I will easily cut my thumb loading the pellets. Can't believe this hasn't been an issure before and corrected at the factory. This would only take a pass or two at the grinder to correct this issue. I had to take the rear sight off to mount the scope. Not a big deal because I never planned on using it any way. This rifle is long and it is all I can do to reach the release to cock it when setting down. The weight of this rifle is something to be dealt with when shooting off hand. You have to really hold this rifle tight for it to be accurate. Recoil is mild.

    What others should know:

Just messing with the rifle today I sighted it in at a 15 yard zero just to see how it would drop off. It was 1/2 inch high at 25 yds. And 1 1/2 inches high at 35 yds. It was zero at 40 yards. 2.5 inches low at 50 yds. At 60 yds it was 4.5 inches low.

Accuracy!! I shoot Crosman Premier .22 Cal, 14.3 Grains, Domed, 500ct and consistently get a 1 inch group measured center to center at 50 yards. I zero my rifle at 20 yards and and get about an 1 1/4 inch drop at 50 yards. The trajectory is basically flat until 40 yards. This a very good hunting rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Replace the barrel-clamp bipod with a sling. A sling really is necessary if you plan to carry this rifle any distance. My rifle/scope combination weights over 12 pounds.

    What others should know:

The Hatsan Torpedo 150 barrel length is 13 inches and has an ergonomic synthetic stock. The Hatsan Torpedo 155 Vortex has a 17 inch barrel, has a wood stock, and is heavier.. I was not convinced 155 was more accurate and I really wanted the synthetic stock. You decide which is the best gun!! Be confident the Hatsan 150 is an excellent choice.

    Things I liked:

Very solid rifle. Built very strong. It is heavy but I like the feel. The cocking effort is not that bad for a magnum. Tho it is not precision target accurate it has exceptional hunting accuracy. At 35 yards on a paper target the grouping was about an inch. Cans were placed at 25, 40, and 50 yards sights were the middle of each can and that's where the pellets struck! This is with only about 125 Crosman Premier/Ruger Super points through it. The accuracy will be even more fantastic once broken in. The recoil is pronounced but using artillery hold really helps the accuracy. All in all this is a very nice rifle for the money. And super powerful!!!

    Things I would have changed:

The bluing on the steel could be a little better. And since magnum air rifles are made to hunt my suggestion to Hatsan would be leave out the bipod and include a sling. This rifle is a beast to carry around due to its weight.

    What others should know:

After the fiasco with my first Hatsan purchase (125 vtx) much thought was given to this purchase. I am glad I gave Hatsan another chance. This rifle is fantastic. It would have been given 5 stars across if the bluing was as good as my RWS34P. And if anyone is going to try adjusting the Quattro trigger watch the Rick Eutsler video on how to do it. (Instruction manual has a miss print on this) . Also make sure you blue lock tight the threads on the brass pellet loading bolt due to the recoil!

    Things I would have changed:

Manufacturers need to start using better lubes and seals. Quit cheaping out on these simple things.

    What others should know:

I've found lately every rifle I've purchased needed to be taken apart new seals put in and a good lube used. I have a chony and the difference is amazing. Out of the box your lucky if you get a properly shooting gun. With new seals and lube you get better fps better accuracy. Even if you have to pay to do this its worth every penny. With a good tune the more you shoot the better they get. If there shooting like crap out of the box they don't get better the more you shoot!!!!! If you send them to the manufacturer within warranty it doesn't cost a thing. Hatsan did an awesome job on my rifles.
