    Things I liked:

Design of the Sheridan and weight.

    Things I would have changed:

Go back to using the old material when the Sheridan was first developed. I bought my boy a Sheridan for Christmas and the pressure is not the same. I am having to send it back.

    What others should know:

Sheridan guns used to be the best but their quality and accuracy is not the same.

    Things I liked:

My original Blue Streak, purchased at Sears in 1960, was lost in a fire last year. The gun was still accurate, still powerful( 4 pumps for plinking; 6 pumps for long shots and squirrels; never more than 7 pumps) and still held a charge. I had more fun with that little gun than I've had with all of my other guns combined, including: (Model 70 Winchester; 870 Remington Wingmaster; Browning .22; .357 S&W). Now I have a brand new Blue Streak and I can't wait to shoot it!

    Things I would have changed:

Rear sight is adequate, but tends to move if bumped. A solidly attached adjustable peep sight with a bead front sight would make a very good set-up even better.

    What others should know:

Keep the working parts lubricated, keep the gun in a warm dry place, and let no one, I mean no one, borrow it.

    Things I liked:

Pin point accuracy get a williams peep sight for 35$ with 5 pumps you can make one hole groups at 30ft also wait for the compression chamber to fill up with air before you pump each stroke!!!!!!!!! This is very important to get consistent pumping from shot to shot!!!!! the intake port is very small.

    Things I would have changed:

I would put a 3 staged pump on this so a complete charge would be acquired in two pumps with velocity of 900++++fps also why not make this a PCP with an onboard pump why has sheridan not thought of this?

    What others should know:

I got mine in 1981 and it sure killed it's fair share of gophers with only 4-5 pumps and flat headed target pellet ammo for this the best.THe gophers were a cornfield pest that we had permits to control.

    Things I liked:

I got mine for Christmas in '58 and enjoyed it for 12 yrs... then it slipped into my foregetfulness pocket... in the closet. I had a problem and then solved the issue with the solution below.

    Things I would have changed:

I would like appiture irons (round rear site not the v) for better precision shooting.

    What others should know:

I did not leave the gun presurized, so when I pulled it out of the closet after years of neglect of non-use, the seals did not hold air in the compression stroke. The pump just hissed in air blowing bye the seals in the tube. I experimented looking to return the rifle to usefulness at minimal cost. I used Kroil oil as a fix. I lubed the compression tube and the seals in the process. I added close to a tea spoon of oil into the access port turning the gun around its axis to evenly apply oil to the leather seals. After allowing the gun to sit overnight... it came back to like new with no other costs. If you forget to leave it charged and store it for an extended time, get the Kroil oil and lube the compression tube. Allow it to cause the seals to swell with the lube and viola, it works... have fun.

    Things I liked:

Just about everything about it. It is very accurate, dependable, strong and well made. I especially like the change in location of the safety from the tang to the trigger guard.

    Things I would have changed:

I would definately increase the velocity to say 900-950fps it seems strange to me that the Benjamin 392 that is basically the same unit at least visually, that the 392 being .22cal and achieveing 685fps over a smaller .20cal. achieveing 675fps it just doesn't make sense. I would think it would be the other way around.

    What others should know:

The intermount system for scoping is absolutely great using your choice of scope and rings makes this unit a tack driver. I have a Barska 4x32 AO w intermount system and have yet to shoot anything other than one hole five shot groups @ 33'. I have tried many different brand pellets and have been pleased with all the results. If you purchase this unit and equip it with a decent scope, you won't be sorry.

    Things I liked:

The materials. The accuracy. The size. The price!

    Things I would have changed:

If you want a C9 that is "all it can be", you need the steroid version from Mac1 instead (but at 275$, other alternatives come to mind) The C9 has a lot of room for improvement (wobbly trigger, no scope mounts included, plastic trigger guard, bad sights etc), but it works remarkably well out of the bow. Once you have bashed the rear sight in the right position (forget the screwdriver on this one and get some pliers instead..), you are about to have a lot of fun.

    What others should know:

First time buyer and considering a cheap springer rifle? Well don't. Get this instead. People should know that this is a very short air rifle - 3 inches shorter than a discovery. With the H&N Field Target Trophy, this thing is ACCURATE! (I always use 6 pumps, seems to work best for me. Scoped with intermounts/BSA 2x20) Consequent Sub-inch groups at 100 feet is possible with the right shooter and good sights. I also have a Discovery .177, 850 Airmagnum ,22, CF-X (grt-III) .177 and I can say that the C9 does not stand back to any of them in terms of accuracy (not much behind on power either). I have used this gun more than any of my others. No hassle with pre-pumping or co2. Just grab it and stuff some pellets in your pocket, and you are ready to go.

    Things I liked:

Rifle was referred by a friend who had one built in 1960. He has several and said the SBS CB9 is a slam dunk. Solid rifle. Feels real. Decent materials. Expectations we're high.

    Things I would have changed:

Design hasn't changed much but the manufacturing process appears to have. We have been fighting to get it sighted in ever since it came out of the box. Groupings at 30 yards are all over the place (size of my hand) even while using a rest. Been trying different pellets etc.

    What others should know:

Don't know if this one was built on a Friday or what but my expectations have not been met so far compared to the reviews that I read prior to purchase.

I had one in the 50's & enjoyed it very much, now they are even better. Fit & finish is good. a very good U.S.A. product.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger is a deal breaker, I was able to find a "super sear" & put it in & now the rifle is as close to a perfect rifle as i have ever seen, a real tack driver.

    What others should know:

If you don't mind spending another $39 for the "super sear" it makes a great rifle.

    Things I liked:

First thing is I bought this rifle brand new in '74. How about $50.00 back then. Next it has never had to be repaired. I like that I can leave this rifle alone for weeks and pick it up and drive the first pellet home. I can't do that with any other air rifle I have. Of course the older rifles had all metal parts, including trigger guard, rocker safty and heaver pump linkage. I hear a lot of people say that they get good results with the original pellets. But all I could do was about 6-12" groups with them. I have found out that JSB's are tack drivers and I just ordered 4 more tins. My trigger is perfict right from the factory and breaks absolutly clean at a hair over 2 lbs and that's right from the factory. You willn't get that today.

    Things I would have changed:

The only thing I can think about changing would be the scope mount. I have had a scope mounted since new and have no problems pumping. I supose pumping it would be easier with out it but it's been so long that I wouldn't know the difference.

    What others should know:

Don't hesitate to buy one. Will last you a life time and you don't have to send it out to be tuned. Handy, light and maybe I will get buried with it. (Is it legal)?

    Things I liked:

This is the most accurate air gun i have ever had. it gives me 0.25" groupings at 15 yards with a leapers scope with 5 shots (JSB pellets). The pumping is not hard and the wood stock is very nice. it is solid and light enough to carry around. It just feels real and I am proud to own a rifle that will ast a lifetime with little maintenance.

    Things I would have changed:

I really can't think of anything that I would change on this rifle.

    What others should know:

It is very accurate and hits hard. I have killed more than 120 animals with it in the last 4 months. Its accuracy allows you to take head shots easily. get one with a scope and also use .20 JSB pellets.

    Things I would have changed:

change the way the scope mounts are

    What others should know:

it is dead on at 30 to 40 yards it has a hard wood stock and it can be a weekend project to add a good finishon the stock all in all it is the best airgun for the money

    Things I liked:

Almost everything! I really enjoy how compact and easily maneuverable it is. Also, no need to drag around CO2 cartridges or hand pumps because the pump is attached. The basic wood stock has a very sturdy feel and is fairly lightweight. Furthermore, .20 calibers pack just a little more punch for pest control--and JSB makes .20 caliber predators!

    Things I would have changed:

There are really only 2 things I dislike about this gun. First, the trigger pull is a little rough (but I may have been spoiled by the Discovery). Beyond this, continually pumping to maximum power is a bit of a workout. I found pumping 4-5 times to be fairly easy, but 6,7, and 8 take a little effort.

    What others should know:

When I was younger I was not allowed to own any air rifles, so I had to rely on the next best thing--friends with air rifles! Most of my earlier airgunning experience involves shooting my friends multi-pump pneumatics. For this reason, I became intrigued by the Benjamin multi-pumps. In general, I see them as much higher quality "trade ups" compared to some of the cheaper bb/pellet multi-pumps of my youth. Do not be daunted by the lack of a scope rail! I scoped one using the Air Venturi Intermount (AV-BJ0014) and had it sighted in in no time. The intermount system had a much stronger feel than I expected. The Blue Streak is a great gun for the price and I can see why so many of Pyramyd's customers have held on to them for many, many years.

    Things I liked:

Excellent, accurate, and a joy to shoot. I have made more 'impossible' shots with this rifle, where ones with scopes failed. It has a great feel, and great wood finish.

    Things I would have changed:

Pumping can be tiring after shooting all afternoon. This is the only shortcoming for this rifle.

    What others should know:

    no

This is an excellent weapon. accurate and consistent for the money and value, you cant beat it.

    Things I would have changed:

    nothing

    What others should know:

IF YOU ARE A FIRST TIME BUYER OF THIS KIND OF WEAPON, BUY THE COMBO. You will eventually be so in love with this weapon that you will want the pin point accuracy of the mount and scope. the air venturi intermount and the 4x32 Leapers scope is a perfect combination for this weapon. after purchasing my blue streak. the open sights are a bit hard to see in certain lights, and at my age...lol. even with the peep sight I added. But OH MAN, when I ordered the air venturi intermount and the leapers 4x32 scope (same as what comes in the combo) I was so amazed at the accuracy and consistency of it. DO NOT GET THE BSQUARE MOUNT I cannot emphasize that enough.. bad choice. learn from my experience. JUST GO WITH THE COMBO. It is the best value there is. and you will love it. Like I do now.. my little squirrel dog (mountain feist) goes crazy when she sees me take this weapon off the rack, she knows it doesn't miss..

    Things I liked:

This gun is a real tack driver. I have always wanted one since i was a kid. It is very accurate to my surprise. The consistency of the gun is very impressive. The power makes it a great gun for critter control.

    Things I would have changed:

I would include the peep sight or the scope mount with it. I would also offer it in a higher velocity model. A nice 900 fps would be great.

    What others should know:

Its a great gun. Pumping it gets old. but mine has yet to let me down. I have taken a lot of critters at 35 and 40 yards with open sights and never thought twice about it. I am very please with it.

    Things I liked:

Accurate,. Powerful, and simple. All metal and wood with a few minor plastic pieces. Easy to maintain. It will last forever.

    Things I would have changed:

It should have a dovetail cut into the receiver. The trigger is very heavy and I have a tendency to occasionally pull shots because of the trigger.

    What others should know:

On very hot days (100 F) if you shoot it rapidly the accuracy will suffer. You can actually make air reservoir heat up. You will get tired of pumping it when plinking. I highly recommend the Crosman 64 Peep Sight. It will shrink your groups in half and keeps the rifle a handy little carbine. I currently have the Air Venturi Intermount on my blue streak with a Leapers UTG Tactedge 4x40 Scope mounted. This allows me to shoot accurately out to 35 yards, but this set up is more difficult to pump and more delicate to carry compared to the peep sight set up.

    Things I liked:

Right out of the box I pumped it 6 times and used a Benjamin 14.3gr .20 cylindrical pellet. At about 20 yards I hit a small water bottle about a half inch higher than I was aiming. No sight adjustments thus far.

    Things I would have changed:

A little hard to pump. But strong rifle.

    What others should know:

This is a nice looking gun. Solid made with a nice wood stock. I used Min-wax wood polish on mine. It helped bring out some of the texture of the wood. The .20 (5mm) pellets are a little harder to find, but glad I bought it.

Wow this rifle is just fantastic. With eight pumps this rifle is a tack driver at 15 yards with iron sights

    Things I would have changed:

Not much at all maybe a little bit easier to mount a scope.

    What others should know:

I got this rifle at the local hardware store not pyramid air. I tested this rifle at 10 and 25 yards away with iron sights. I had around .50 inch groups at 10 yards and around 1.25 inch for 25 yards. If you want a rifle that will last you for ages this is it all wood and metal. And bye the way this thing is and amazing chipmunk and squirrel gun.

    Things I liked:

This rifle is a class act. It is so accurate I took the scope I bought for it off, since simply lining up a target in the scope and hitting every time got a little boring! Quality wood stock. Tight iron sights do not drift even with some rough handling. The rifle I am submitting a review for is now 25 years old. It is still an amazing air rifle and the seals are still 100%. .20 cal (5mm) is an excellent all-round pellet for an air gun. If I need a bigger or faster round, I just grab a .22 LR. or .22 Magnum.

    Things I would have changed:

Sling fittings would be nice... 25 years with no problems, ever... Being a pump pneumatic, it is very loud for an airgun. Can't change that, but be aware at 8 pumps, dogs several houses away might be barking at it! Then again, the noise is fun!

    What others should know:

I've used many pellets with this rifle and now only buy Beeman Crow-Magnum 5mm for it. I have left-over Sheridan round tips (in the red plastic shaker box) still left over, and you will not achieve the accuracy this rifle is cable of with them. Argueably, the only air gun most people will ever need before going to .22 LR. It is a quality item that will disappoint only the harshest critics. This rifle will perform best with quality rounds. Occasional felt cleaning pellets have kept this rifle in perfect form. Use only solvent-free lubes or you will destroy the seals. Keep the sights and trigger well oiled (SAE 30 works fine) as the screws and dovetail are not stainless steel.
