I purchased this pistol specifically for the purpose of attending a Force on Force Course at Altus Training Solutions, Baker, FL, taught by Bill Rapier, American Tactical Shooting Instruction. This was my second time taking this course, involving live pistol training, plus combatives, blade work, medical and other elements and this time I showed up with the Sig plus one spare mag after gladly making the purchase. The first time I took the class I showed up with a no-name pistol purchased from a big box store immediately before the class - big mistake. In real "air soft world" the no-name pistol would have got me killed about 50 times. Later, I made it a point to visit the Sig booth at the Shot Show and actually spent time looking at Sig's Airlift line, where I decided to order the M17 for the second AmTac Force on Force Class. Yes, I spent time at Shot looking at an Airsoft gun. I wanted a pistol I would not confuse with my daily carry either in color or size and I set up a separate range bag strictly for the airsoft pistol and training blade including CO2 cartridges and light pellets. The gun ran well, including the safeties, from an actual loaner M17 holster, with slide and mag changes feeling close to a real gun, I did not drop the mags in the dirt because the feed lips looked fragile, but once during a hand-to-machete encounter my opponent broke my grip on the pistol, it landed hard, got kicked aside and later ran fine with no damage. Trigger was right on and sights were not a toy. I even mounted a Surefire x300 Ultra on the pistol but had to take it off to holster. Especially glad I own this now that Corona lockdown is here, only my wife keeps asking, "What are all of these little green pellets?" The fortune cooke from this story is, Do not buy an airsoft pistol from a country that does not allow its citizens to own guns. You are making the effort to travel to a training course and to commit to learning new skills. To show up with junk gear is disrespectful to your instructor and to your training partners.

I bought this airlift gun as a gift for my 13 year old son. I thought as it was a more expensive airsoft piste it would be better quality. However, after he shot it about 20 times the orange tip broke off, in addition he often has issues with the magazine. When he puts in CO2 cartridges it often will leak, and the gun will not shoot, and wastes the CO2, which again is not cheap. I am very disappointed in this, and my son is very upset about it. I thought I was giving him a great birthday present, and he has only met with disappointment after disappointment.

The look the the feel and the reliable quality, easy to adjust hop up with the tool that's included.
Things I would have changed:Make it in black or two tone
What others should know:This gun has great fps and can handle different grain weight bbs without any issues, use quality co2.

My grandson was very happy with the pistol. He expended the CO2 cartridge very quickly. It would be nice if extra cartridges were offered or suggested at the time of the purchase.

I’ve read some of the reviews on here and that’s why I’m writing the orange plastic on mine is a cheaper plastic but I’ve dumped countless mags out of this thing and nothing on mine has broken it does shoot slightly different after about 5days to a week but it’s hardly noticeable I’ve had it for about 2 months now and haven’t had a single issue it’s still mint condition

If it were more accurate, I would give it a perfect score. It’s about 1.5 inches low at 10 feet. Other than that, it’s great for training.

It worked pretty well for me but does have its drawbacks at the same time
Mags wouldn’t feed right slide wouldn’t lock back after emptying the mag
Some spring in the trigger assembly broke and cant find the part anywhere

Bought it at an airsoft feild brand new used it for 2 games fine then the hammer stopped hitting the valve hard enough for the weapon to fire. Very disappointed

Great training tool. Very hard to load BB’s. Pulling spring down requires tough finger nails. Wish it had a tool to pull spring down. Needs a better way to get BB’s into magazine.

Overall it's a nice pistol. The button on the magazine is hard to keep down and does not lock down. The screws on the slide that need to be removed to install the red dot were so tight that I stripped the head of one screw. As far as durability, I have not shot it enough to tell yet.

The look and feel of the weapon is very good, but some of the workings disappoint me.
1. The gun jams after 2nd shot on every try. Still working to figure out why.
2. The clip is hard to load. A device could be created that helps depress the spring and other loading devices could be created if manufacturer cared to do so.
3. Instruction manual not very helpful. This is my first time CO2 product, so some instuction would have been helpful.

Purchased m17 two weeks ago, gun broke on very first game. CO2 mag top cracked when I released spring. Gun is good looking, but that’s about it. Semi auto not properly working and I had to move top manually every second shot. Way below my expectations

I purchased the M17 airsoft gun for my son and he was excited to get. He even did a unboxing video. But the excitement ended after the 3rd magazine. It just stopped firing. I took it to my local airsoft shop and was told that the firing mechanism wasn't engaging. I got new Co2 cartridge's and nothing. He was disappointed as well as I.

Practice your draw and reloads without wasting ammo. Works great with accelerometer shot timers or with Air Soft mode shot timers.

The gun won't fire. I had just opened the box and took out the gun, filled the mag, and loaded it. I go to fire the gun and ot does not shoot. I take a deeper look into the gun and it is missing parts with the hamer mechanism. Does not even deserve 1 star is the gun doesn't even shoot.

It shot fairly accurate, good feel in the hands.
Things I would have changed:Sig should build a better quality mag air valve, the mag leaked air.... then the valve in the mag broke. I had to send it back for a replacement. The gun also kept double feeding. What a bad gun.
What others should know:Pyramyd Air Customer service was good, and fast on the live chat. I've only good things to say about them on my first time as a customer.
But as for this Sig product...as not impressed.

SIG M17 is almost identical to the actual firearm. After training with this Airsoft handgun, I was able to confidently pickup the actual M17 at a local range and operate it as if I had been using one for years.
Things I would have changed:Noting needs to be changed in my opinion.

Bought this gun from a local airlift shop about 8 months ago. It's worked flawlessly (probably shot 1k+ rounds) and, for an airlift pistol, is quite accurate. I love that the gun breaks down in an identical fashion to the real pistol. Recently added the sig red dot and, after getting it dialed in, has added to the realism. The one drawback I've encountered is that the fill valve nipple can stick in the down position causing the just-added gas to leak out. I've found that using oiled gas reduces the likelihood of this occurring.

I purchased this specifically for use in a home defensive pistol course. I would have liked to have installed a red dot sight so it would match my P320 exactly (with light & optic — train how you fight), however, the manual does not even begin to show how to replace the slide mount with an actual red dot. I’m afraid if I force anything on this pistol, it will break, because some of the parts are plastic. The pistol itself has a good weight and feel, and I am looking forward to running it during my course. Just bummed that there is no instruction anywhere on YouTube or on the SigSauer site for actually mounting a red dot…

With the restrictions on getting to the gun club and live fire practice, the Airsoft M-17 is perfect for an indoor set up.
My live fire instructors both loved the M-17 Airsoft and want one.

I used it this weekend playing airsoft with our church youth group. Oh my goodness - I had way more fun than any 53 year old should flanking and triple tapping teenagers. Great for close quarters. Very satisfying with the look, feel, and functionality. I added the holographic site, which works great. I was also able to use my M17 holster rig. Highly recommended.
