I wouldn't change anything but I would add a couple more arrows and a CO2 cartridge so it would be really to go out of the box.

Very light and easy to shoot.

The accuracy and range leave a little to be desired. Very fun to shoot at targets but not sure how well it would work for hunting.

The air javelin is very light weight (even with the CO2 cylinder attached). It was also very easy to assemble the sight and cocking bolt. Box it was shipped in has some pretty slick graphics and marketing, almost too nice to throw it away. I experienced very little air leakage when I attached the cylinder. I did apply a bit of cylinder oil on the cartridge.

It would be nice if there was a bit more texture to the grip and butt stock. It is very plasticky but still functional. It would be nice if the arrows came in bright colors. It would make them much easier to retrieve. I’m not sure how easy it would be to load an arrow if it were tipped with a broadhead.

Make sure you have a backstop and extra arrows. I lost an arrow after only a couple of shots. I plan on scoping it. Overall this rifle is a lot of fun! The Air Javelin rifle is louder than I expected.

I love that it is very lightweight and is very easy to use. Operation is pretty straightforward and performs flawlessly. One of the best aspects about this purchase was the price. This gun will shoot at the speed of a crossbow bolt (albeit somewhat smaller), but without the exorbitant cost of a crossbow, and without the arduous process of cocking a crossbow. I mean one can shoot 3 bolts fairly quickly, much faster than any existing crossbow in today's market. Also, this airgun is quite accurate (w/ red dot installed) within 30 yards especially fairly close (10 yards).

The manufacturer of this airgun states this can be used for small or medium game hinting; I would like to add that this can possibly be also used for self-defense because in my opinion I believe it is quite powerful enough to puncture and penetrate quite deeply. I ran some tests and the bolt penetrated through 8+ layers of cardboard, and would have gone clean through if not for the plywood backstop I had in place. I am astounded how such an inexpensive and lightweight contraption could be so powerful!

This is surprisingly accurate if a bit loud. I zeroed the sights in 5 shots and it was hitting well at 20 yards. It is simple and easy to use. I got well over the advertised 27 shots off the first tank although they were hitting a bit low after 30. I like that the 5# trigger pull is long as a safety feature. I have not tried it beyond twenty yards. The safety is effective but a bit loud. The adjustable stock is very nice and it is light at 4.5 lbs. I will definitely hunt small game with it.

There was a glare problem with the tapered aperture of the rear peep sight and I simply reversed it to solve that problem. Also the rear sight is a little sloppy and can move from side to side but putting two pieces a black tape inside the ears as shims tightened it just fine.

You can build your own bolts from 2016 aluminum arrow shafts and they are very accurate.
