    Things I liked:

Advertised and rated power is tremendous. Overall build quality appears to be superb. Good balance and feel at the shoulder.

    Things I would have changed:

Manufacturer should stay true to their advertised standards. Purchased this based upon the advertised (pictures of) scope mount rail and the rifle when received had a different rail installed that would not allow installation of the scope far enough back for me to get a proper scope picture. Other than that, the rifle was acceptable.

    What others should know:

After complaints to PyramydAir reps, including their technical person and a supervisor, PyramydAir agreed to take the rifle back for a trade, which they honored graciously. Kudos to PyramydAir for their treatment of customers!

    Things I liked:

Powerful, lighter than expected thanks to the polymer stock. Very accurate; I have no trouble hitting a 1" spinner target at 33 yards. I believe it is quieter than the Beeman Kodiak, even after installing a gas spring. Trigger isn't bad for a hunting airgun in this price range. I'm glad to see an integrated scope rail block, which was one thing the Kodiak really needed because even with a 1 piece mount tightened to the max and with locktite, the scope would creep back every few hundred shots.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope that comes with it is a joke, I'd rather they left it off and lowered the price a little because this is not a scope that will last. The scope rings have a gap so you can still see the iron sights, which I liked, but with only one allen screw to keep the scope mount attached to the rifle, I found that they loosen after ~20 rounds.

    What others should know:

A 1-piece scope mount is really needed here. I attached what I believe to be an old B-Square mount and it hasn't budged or loosened a bit. Also, expect to buy a higher quality scope if you get this gun. I used an old Bushnell 4-12x AO that I had on a Beeman Kodiak and it seems to be doing great, but it's only been 100 shots so far. The second stage of the trigger on the Falcon is very crisp, not creepy like the Crossman Trail Nitro XL that I used to own. It still not quite as good as a Kodiak's, which had a medium length second stage that was very smooth, but the Kodiak that I owned had a tuned trigger, so I expect with a little work, this trigger can be nearly as good.

    Things I liked:

Great power house. Gun is right on out of the box. Great feel when shooting. Packing was good and fast del.

    Things I would have changed:

Stock is a little flimsy on the front where the gun breaks over. Hollow rear stock. I filed the rear stock with poly pillow foam and make a concederable difference. Had to drill 3/4" hole in the rear cover to pack but this does not effect the integrity of the gun. Some have noted that they removed the cover to do this but I would do not reccomend that. Just remove the rear pad and drill.

    What others should know:

This is a powerful gun and caution should be used when using it. Even with the gas piston change over the gun is a beast to cock. The gun is heavy by it self and when adding the 3x9-40 leapers even heavier. You can't go wrong with this gun. THE .22 WILL KILL BIRDS AND OTHER PEST GRAVEYARD DEAD. At 10 yards the gun will shoot through a 3/4" form plywood with ease. This is a gun you have to really have hold on to when shooting to obtain accuracy. 100 rounds total shot with gun and no issues. Ever shoot fired at critters has been a dead kill. Gun is great.

    Things I liked:

Stock fits a taller (5'8" up) person. Recoil is almost docile, report OK without earplugs, unless using hypervelocity pellets, then sounds like a .22 LR. Ample rail for mounting scope. POWERFUL!! @ 30 ft, will drive a pellet 3/4 - 1" into phone book. takes out rats and rabbits @ 60 ft no problem.

    Things I would have changed:

The stock adjusts shorter for 5'5" guys, a quieter safety

    What others should know:

Started out Walther Talon Magnum w/ Spring. WHAT A BEAST. Recoil like a .270 Win.. Scope wouldn't stay put. With the Gas Piston mod, a different gun. the accuracy you'd expect from a Walther

    Things I liked:

I wanted a .22 rifle that was within my budget of about $300 , and I wanted one with the "new" Crosman nitro piston. That narrowed the search down considerably. I liked the fact that this gun has open sights, because most rifles offered at this time with the nitro piston do not. The online reviews prepared me for a gun I was going to buy, having never seen one in person. It's relatively heavy, it is accurate,it is long (I had to order a 52" soft case, and with a 32mm scope it barely fits), and it takes a bit of effort to cock it. In general, it is a magnum gun in all respects, and it is impressive.

    Things I would have changed:

Offer it with nitro piston, but without the scope. The eye relief of the included 3-9x32 scope was far too short for my taste. It is labeled Optima (made in China) and retails for less than $30. Buy a better scope. I purchased a Leapers with an eye relief of 5" which works well for me.

    What others should know:

It's a well made, accurate, magnum .22 rifle that really is worth the extra money for the nitro conversion.

    Things I liked:

Power, price, reviews. I wanted a .22 hunting rifle with plenty of oomph that could shoot accurately more than 50 yards and that I could shoot a lot in the back yard (with other houses around). That left me with a springer or a PCP. Couldn't afford a PCP. For most of my major purchases I rely on Consumer Reports, but that wasn't an option for an airgun. So, I read as many reviews as I could on retailers' websites and whatever I could find by internet search. The Walther Talon Magnum met my criteria. If you like the feel of the raw power of a turbocharged engine with straight pipes, you should like this gun! The Nitro piston is the only way to go for shooting outdoors in New England Winters ( since the cold causes problems for springs). The recoil is mad, but satisfying because you know you have some power. If you want a powerful hunter at an affordable price and you are able to carry the weight with the strength to cock it, the WTM is a worthy contender.

    Things I would have changed:

Higher cheek rest to easily get in the same position in relation to the scope every time. The WTM is distributed in the U.S. by Umarex-USA. It is manufactured in Turkey by Hatsan as the Hatsan Model 125. I wish the WTM was available with the same stock as the Hatsan 125MW. I emailed Hatsan in Turkey to see if there was a way to obtain that stock, to learn that it is NOT made from wood, but it is a wood-look on a synthetic stock. As far as I can tell, the wood-look stock cannot be ordered from Umarex. The synthetic stock with the bottom slot for the cocking lever is not comfortable for using the "artillery hold" (see "Airgun Tips, Tricks & Reviews", Airgun Academy- Blog, or videos). I have never seen a satisfactory scope included with a gun/scope combination. The one that comes with the gun is adequate, but put a better scope near the top of your list for what to add in the future. When I finally received the gun (after many repeated backorder delays) I couldn't believe how heavy it is (my first springer with no other to compare it to). The noise while holding the gun is much louder than standing beside someone else shooting. The thing "rings" with reverberation. I settle for the synthetic stock because of the lighter weight than wood, but I think it amplifies the ring.

    What others should know:

I read a lot on how hard it was to cock, but was not prepared how hard it is to push or pull 50 lbs.To get an idea, hold a 50 lb pull bow (not compound) by the ends and bend the ends towards each other about as close as they would be to string it. This is not an everyday plinker, but a hunter, so I figured I would adapt. After about a week, while cocking it with the butt on the ground, before I could get the barrel all the way down it slipped and my finger and area between my thumb and pointer got stuck between the lever and the underside of the stock. (I was too embarrassed to go for stitches.) The noise while holding the gun is much louder than standing beside someone else shooting. The thing "rings" with reverberation. For your first spring or piston gun, go find articles on how to hold and shoot a springer. She does not want to be held tightly. When you read reviews of this gun, note the date. There have been improvements to the trigger, scope mount, and a shock absorber system installed. I have not yet had problems with trigger or scope mount screws coming loose, but I know to keep an eye on them. It is too much gun for frequent shooting fun in lots of conditions. Go with a multi-pump or a CO2 or a more docile springer. If you are one of the few that can afford it, by all means buy a Pre-Charged Pneumatic.

    Things I liked:

It hits hard....not a toy by any means. It dented the uprights on my chain link fence at 40 yards...big dents. It just shoots clean through some of my wooden "targets". I doubt it is reaching the advertised speed of 1000 fps, which is fine- actually I wanted something about 920-950 fps in .22 calibre. The rifle is not for someone who wants backyard type stealth, It makes a pretty audible thump when she fires. I would be afraid to shoot this gun in a neighborhood anyways, nor would I give it to an unsupervised kid. It is a hunting rifle. I have taken the time and effort to learn how to break it in properly, and it shoots very well. I manage 1 1/2" groups at 40 yards and with some more time and practice I imagine less than an 1" at 40 and 2" at 70 yards will be very duable. For a hunter.....that's good enough. The Nitro Piston upgrade was a great choice, and even though it still recoils, it doesn't seem to torque like my old spinger does. No twang, just a funny thump that goes bump. I liked the fact that PA returned the original spring- nice touch.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope....Pyramid Air sells so many nice scopes that an upgrade should be carefully considered when ordering. You will want strong mounts to hold onto the scope. It is NOT a picatinny mount.....it is a Dovetail. Get the proper mounts even if you have to call and ask. Cheap mounts won't get it here. Mil-dots are probably not that big of an issue as the trajectory is fairly flat to begin with. I would like to have gotten some instructions as to how to adjust the trigger pull, there are two screws there. Also, some instructions as to maintaining the Nitro Piston....don't know what it needs. Also, the listing here needs to be redone as some things have changed with this year's model. This isn't the same gun that I have read reports on over the internet. The manufacturer has addressed those things and has made a pretty good gun. This gun is not easy to cock, and it takes some practice to get your style down. My girl cocked it and shot it a few times, but if you are short or impaired, it might prove to be too much to handle. It ain't for everyone you know.

    What others should know:

Buy a four pack special of pellets with the gun. I did and chose the heavy ones that cost about $12 a tin. I cleaned the barrel very carefully so as not to scratch it or foul the muzzle crown. I used clean dry patches and a non-metal rod. Four patches and then I started break-in. Crossman Premier pellets are cheap and seemed to work fine for this. Then after about 250 shots, I cleaned the barrel again and started in with the fancy smancy pellets. After about thirty shots they started grouping well. Later I will re-clean and switch again until I find the pellet that works best for my gun. Takes some time for the new pellets to lay down the lead inside the barrel the way they like it. This gun will take down a critter up to 25 pounds, but as with all guns, accuracy is the key. Take your time and give the gun a chance to break-in. You will learn to shoot it the way it does best. I don't believe you have to use the Artillary Hold to get good accuracy, the spring is gone. It likes to lay on sandbags. I would look at scopes that range from 3x up to about 10 or 12x. Make certain it has a paralax adjustment and a large objective lense. I chose a Center Point 4x16x50 and it gets cloudy past 12x. The TruGlow sights that come on the gun work very well, and I used them for the break-in. If you are looking to just shoot some targets out back, get something else. If you are looking for incredible accuracy, get something else. If you are looking for a $ 300 hunter, get this gun.

It is a good looking gun! Impressed!!!! Trigger is now metal and stock fit me well. Very good workmanship. Easily cocked and loaded. Trigger requires little pull. Shoots very smoothly. Scope is okay and fiber optic sights are great. Very accurate and powerful.

    Things I would have changed:

    Things I liked:

Very accurate, extremely powerfully(.22cal), easier to cock then I thought. This rifle is a great buy for the price. Get it with he gas spring upgrade. You won't regret it.

    Things I would have changed:

Heavy, Very heavy, I purchased a Leapers 3-12x44 30mm scope and with the scope my rifle weighs a hefty 9.4 lbs. Also the way the mounting rail is positioned is to far forward for most people to get proper eye relief. I also mentioned that it is easier to cock then expected, while that may be true, it will still leave you sore from a day of shooting.

    What others should know:

For the money this rifle is a steal . It is by far the most accurate and hardest hitting air rifle I have ever used. This thing loves predator polymags. However the trigger pull is to high for my liking and it has a very noticeable recoil. All things considered I would definitely buy this rifle again.

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

I reviewed this rifle before but I think I didn't do it justice. I have the .22 with the Air Venturi gas spring. As a precursor, I shoot rimfire and centerfire, and I refuse to pay much for a pellet rifle. Cost/benefit comparison, I suppose. This rifle is my go to gun for fun. Out to 100 yards I'll play with anyone. I've put a lot of pellets through this rifle, and compared to others, I like it more. This rifle will do what you want, when you want, as long as you do your part.

    Things I would have changed:

After much use, the plastic trigger. I wouldn't even bother with metal but at least the trigger feel could be better. This will only be notable to people trying to find the elusive absolute group of the rifle... forget that statement if you want an accurate, utility rifle. Otherwise, the trigger feels funny and has a side creep that is disturbing to anyone that obsessive or just likes a better "feel". The safety... it's second nature for me to "cock" it like a revolver by pulling the safety back. I, personally, hate auto safety because I'm aware of the "gun's" state and don't need the added countermeasure. Conversely, this rifle will go through a half inch of press board at 30 yds with the right pellet... so I understand the incorporation of auto safety. But, that still leaves that wobbling, plastic safety thing... a few more bucks and they could refine it to a nice "hammer" feel. A feeling like cocking a breach lock with a hammer. Just make the safety a little more secure in its housing. Oh... and last but not least the securing screw behind the trigger. What cheap manufacturing idea lead to the theory that just installing some teeth would hold it? Locktite anyone? Maybe not. Just check that screw until Umarex fixes the problem. Every couple hundred shots finger check the secure screw behind the trigger for tightness. If your groups start going fly in elevation, I'll bet it's that screw.

    What others should know:

The barrel will droop, buy a compensator for it. That isn't a bad thing, it just happens. This rifle loves Predator pellets. I started with a couple thousand RWS Super H points and trifled with several others. RWS Super H Point group, hit hard and are great... use them unless you want to push things well beyond the boundary. If you want to shoot 100yds with confidence, go with Predators. I have no trouble hitting insects at 30yds or pop cans at 100 yds. I have no trouble cocking this rifle, but I weigh over 200lbs... some of my friends have trouble cocking it and opt out for a Gamo, Beeman, or etc. It is hard to cock and doesn't get easier. Even with the gas spring it will destroy scope mounts, screws, and anything not made for extreme momentary recoil. I personally love this gun... it's scary accurate, quiet with the gas spring, and will put a pellet through a paper wasp at 30yds if you can shoot that well. This is my conclusive review of this rifle after 1000's of shots. The only reason it gets four stars on accuracy is that screw. Overally, it's 5 of 5 because it hits hard and has zero debilitatiing or even disturbing malfunctions. Value is 5 of 5 because this rifle cost very little compared to other springers but does the same or more... It groups consistently, it hits with authority, and it doesn't require contorted holds to do so. Accuracy is a 4/5 only because of the screw and droop... and only because less being told, you have to figure that out yourself.

Cocking effort is equal to some of the heavier springers. Shot 2,000 pellets through it so far. 7.9g pellets work well while shooting 5" targets at 120 yards. Highly recommended.

    Things I liked:

This this is extremely quiet with the nitro piston! My old Daisy pump 880 and Crossman 2100 when pumped up to 8 to 10pumps are louder!

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger requires a good amount of pull which will affect accuracy. I have only shot the rifle a good dozen times or so and probably will get used to it over time.

    What others should know:

This is my first Hi powered air rifle and I am rating it against only my own experience and nothing to compair it to. I wish the trigger was adjustable and or just a little lighter...but nothing is perfect. The scope is a little cheasy and is finiky when on hi power. If the optic is up graded and trigger lightened this rifle would be the bomb!

i like the lenght of the gun overall. it was very accurate with open sites right out of the box. i thought the gun was also easier to cock than i had expected based on the previous reviews as well as how loud the gun is. to my surprise it is very quiet. i also have a benjamin discovery and this gun is considerably quieter.

    Things I would have changed:

    not sure.

    What others should know:

I found for what i expected, since it is advertised as a magnum that the gun was not as powerful as i expected. my personal test for my airguns is the tonka truck. my benjamin discovery .177 cal will put a hole in the side of a standard tonka truck. when i shot it with my walther it put a good dent in it but it did not pierce it. and i was about 10 feet from the truck. also the gun is not nearly as difficult to cock or as loud as everyone else says. overall it is a good gun. i havent really been able to try to site in a scope due to inclimate weather but that will come soon

    Rating 4.04.0 4.0

    Things I liked:

This is my final review of the Talon Magnum (said I'd be back now I am). I have the older Air Venturi gas spring... so take that as it is. The gun is accurate, reliable, not too hold sensitive, and I like the trigger pull. Sure it isn't the best trigger, but you'll know when you have it at the breaking point. For me that is more important than the difference between 1-6 lbs. Anything over 4 lbs is testy, over 6 lbs is asking for accuracy problems. The barrel is nice, and construction seems solid accept for some screws coming lose.

    Things I would have changed:

The hollow plastic stock... A light filler to keep weight down but get rid of the "cheap" feal. A metal trigger, just because I like metal more. That *darn* rear set screw bolting the rifle to the trigger guard... it comes loose very easily. Rememdy it however you like or keep a screw driver handy for every 100-300 rnds. A metal safety that doesn't wiggle. Less barrel DROOP and someone mentioning it so a cure would be on hand instead of in the mail or at the shop. Oh, and the sort of sloppy (no it's not that bad) gluing of the rail to the compression chamber. Walther should make a "pricier" version of this gun. It could compete with RWS less the warranty.

    What others should know:

First, this gun will blow through a pop can at a measured 130 yds. On a windy day (gusts in excess of 40mph constant wind at about 7mph) we had a 50% hit ratio shooting prone, no rest (and yes, we waited on wind constants). The gas spring never gets easier to cock, not a problem for me... but it isn't easy so if you think 50lbs will be a problem go with something else. The BARREL WILL DROOP! For me this was at about 1250 rds... don't know when because I didn't realize the problem until my brain started working (it only does so from 11pm-3am). Pyramid Air's UTG RWS barrel droop compensator will work fine, go with 20.7". It will set the scope higher, but a good shooter should be able to learn it. Mine likes RWS Super H Point, seems to like predator polymags, and Gamo Rockets. Don't shoot steel with the rockets unless you like richoets for entertainment. Velocity with the RWS stays right at the 1000+ fps mark, haven't checked the others. I'm pretty sure the rifle is capable of sub 1/2" unrested groups at 33 yds. but I'll have to reverify accuracy now that loose screw and barrel droop problems are solved. We generally shoot bottle caps at 33 yds unrested, to give you an idea of potential accuracy. Hopefully someone else has actually sat down and verified it from a bench and can give accurate reliable numbers. This is my go to gun for pest control, small game, plinking, and competeing against my small group break barrel buds.

    Things I liked:

I bought the .22 w gas spring conversion. Very pleased with the power and accuracy. The slotted weaver/dovetail combo mounts give plenty of options for optics. The gas spring is very smooth to cock , although it does take some strength, compared to my metal spring Gamo Whisper. The finish on the barrel and chamber is very refined. The firing cycle/mechanism noise feels and sounds so much cleaner, unlike the twangy vibration with a metal springer.

    Things I would have changed:

First off, the stock is very thin, hollow and weak feeling, and carries the sound of the mechanism right into your skull. Unlike the Gamo stock, the butt plate removal does not offer access to the inside of the stock, so I have drilled a small hole and filled the entire stock with silicone/replaced butt plate. Now she feels very solid, and the noise dampening much improved. Also, since the rifle was a tad muzzle heavy to start with, now it is much more balanced with approx 20 oz silicone in the stock. I never even mounted the scope which came with the gun, but rather added a 4-16x40 AO model I use on my Whisper as well. I use 2 pc weaver mounts and the underbolts on the rings rest against the slots in the weaver mount. 400 shots so far, and not 1 iota of scope creep.

    What others should know:

For my first 100 shots or so, I would occasionally (5-6 times) end up unable to pull the trigger (no, the safety was NOT on), and would have to recock/reset the sear, and then fire. This got more frequent over shots 100-200, so I eventually had to remove and lightly polish the lower sear, there was a small imperfection in the seam that was apparently catching right at the release point (if you were making a nice smooth squeeze). A couple mins work with a whetstone and polish, and now the trigger/sear is working beautifully.

    What others should know:

Air ram makes a world of difference. This rifle is not too loud, kick is a little more than a 22, velocity is supersonic with beeman lasers. Doesnt like crossman premier hollowpoints when loading (they get stuck a bit). Tolerates argentinan Apolo pellets! (a plus), likes RWS rounded tip. Im waiting for Crow Mags and Kodiaks to arrive sometime this year to try them.
