HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you are looking to use for hunting. Very strong gun, it's stocky enough to get a firm grip to get that steady shot. I like the trueglow sites. The trigger has a smooth action. Accuracy: I sighted scope in at 25 yards, from standing position I got 5 shots making 1 hole and 3 that strayed about 1/4-3/8"... not bad in my book. My first 3 shots resulted in 3 kills Noise: I've heard a few reviews saying it's loud but the truth is, this is a very quiet gun. Kick: I am shocked at how much kick a pellet rifle could have, especially with that heavy of a gun.

I would like to see rings mounted for straps. I've never used a strap but this gun must be heavier than my Remington Wingmaster 20 gauge. Not a bad thing for accuracy reasons, but certainly a consideration hunting all morning. It's a little front heavy though. I would certainly like the option to purchase a scope with open target turrets in place of the current scope.

Make sure that you mount the scope in FRONT of the stop. It seems to throw the scope a little forward of what is comfortable but the scope WILL move if you don't. This requires a good arm on cocking so it's not a plinking gun.

The power and accuracy are amazing. This air rifle is capable of shooting groups well beyond 50 yards if you are up to the challenge. The Air Venturi gives it good reliability for velocity and power and cuts the recoil into something more manageable. I believe one of the worst problems with break barrel spring guns for accuracy is the spring vibration and the piston movement. You effectively have two sources of recoil and they act both forward and backward. The Air Venturi turns this into one solid recoil and elminates the vibration recoil. I suppose I can't quantify it scientifically, but in short it exponentially reduces the hold sensitivity. It still likes to be held a certain way... but all the other spring guns I've tried require very specific holds or you may find yourself shooting shotgun like groups. Last but not least, the overall seal quality seems good and it breaks in well.

The plastic trigger... I just don't like it. I haven't had any problems with it, it just seems cheap. The stock, although it is better than others say and saves on weight, doesn't fit the rifle. Put a stock and trigger worthy of the rifle on it, or make it an option at least (factory I mean). The automatic safety, umm why? And why is it plastic? I fire a lot of firearms, and I don't like automatic safeties because they add a step that may become troublesome if you are trying to get a follow up or second shot. That being said, if you use this rifle primarily the safety will become part of the firing routine. That sort of defeats the purpose but it doesn't really detract from the rifle once you are used to it. Also, since it becomes routine to click it off, it defeats the purpose of it being automatic. The scope and mounts it comes with are ill suited for the rifle. They are single screw and the stop isn't that great. The scope itself (although I didn't use it enough to find out if it has any problems itself) is of marginal quality. Get a different set of mounts and a better scope. Or strain your eyes and risk having to resight because the mounts or scope moved.

This rife is not for people that don't want to pull 50lbs. when they cock it. It is hard to cock and it does not get lighter. Generating the power this rifle has requires a lot of force, if you find other break barrels hard to cock, this one will wear you out. Second, this thing will knock a bad mount lose or destroy a scope not made for the recoil. The rear trigger screw will come loose, put something on there to keep it where it is. This rifle is powerful, we tested it at 160 yds and it was capable of grouping (I'll elaborate on that later) and carried enough power to get the job done. Overall, for the money this is an amazing rifle. It needs some different hardware to be a real winner but it has the potential to be a favorite if you like air rifles and want to put pellets through targets at ridiculous ranges. To conclude, it isn't a toy and it will not be fun to shoot unless you are sure you can handle cocking it.

accuracy, right out of the box, first 5 shots at 12 yards at a soda pop can were hits. tru-glo sights are great: the scope i have not used, i purchased the mendoza doppler sight, but the scope seem good and heavy, and very good quality not the light weight one that is usually on a pellet gun, also the scope is very powerful brings objects close up and the scope is adjustable: i did not notice the stock being weak like some have suggested the stock seems strudy to me, but it is hollow. the trigger does not seem hard to pull to me either like some have sugested i can use just the very tip of my finger to pull it: i thought the sound was surprisingly quiet, some people have said it was as loud as a .22cal rifle. i did not find that to be the case at all. it is alot quiter then a .22 rifle: the cusotm fit stock was a nice idea: and since i purchased the gas ram air, pyramyid air still gave me the spring that was orginally in the gun: the gun is balanced nicely it does feel heavy in the shooting position,even though it is a heavy pellet gun

the safety seems cheap and plastic: i know this is a big magnum gun but if i were to have my cake and eat it to, it would be nice for it to cock easier. this gun does cock very very hard. but again it is a powerfull magnum gun it is supposed to cock hard.

the easiest way i have found to cock this gun is this: (for right handed people do this). put the butt of the stock on top of your left foot, put your left hand on the stock were you normally put it when your shooting. place your right hand were you normally grab to cock it and push staight down. keep your right elbow locked, this way you are using your shoulder and whole upper body for weight to push straight down, instead the other way your using just your elbows trying to pull inwards.

First, I purchased the .22 cal Talon Magnum with the "Air Venturi Ram Gas Spring" and must say that I am impressed with this gun. Taking this rifle out of the box the blueing of parts are some of the best I have seen with a bright-blue shine. Having been in the technical field and being exposed to quality components the barrel, power plant and cocking mechanism are excellently CNC machined and are of the best quality (better than my RWS and Beeman). After shooting 300+ pellet through this gun I felt compelled to write a review, largely impart to the gun's accuracy. The Walther barrel DOES make a difference! Presenly, I own several air rilfes; RWS, Beeman, Benjamin and Webley with the RWS and Beeman being the most accurate. However, for distance shooting this Walther beats them all hands down. I regularly shoot 75 - 125 yards and this rifle is awesome. I was shooting groups of 1.5 inches at 85 yards leaning over the hood of my truck without a rest and this rifle is not close to being broken in. The trigger is plastic and has a single stage adjustment; however, it is much better than I imagined with the first stage being short (minimal creep) and the second stage being almost a "hair trigger" (2 lbs.) and very predictable. Please remember that this gun was taken out of the box, wiped down and shot without any adjustments or tuning (I did install the scope). THIS GUN IS NOT A TOY and hits extremely hard and shoots fast! 1/2 inch plywood at 25 yards...right through.

I am not fond of the plastis trigger and prefer either brass or aluminum but it does work well. The auto-safey tag works good but is a bit loose and woobley (I may machine a replacement myself). The rifle's stock is plastic and light and would love to have this gun with a wood stock option to add to the quality of this rifle.

The one main thing everyone must understand is this rilfe has some serious kick to it! If you hold this rifle tightly you will feel every bit of the recoil; the same or more than a .22 magnum. However, if held lightly it is not bad. Cocking effort seems to be strong at first then as the geometry changes during cocking it becomes easier. I fould the cocking not to be an issue like several others but it is not a gun for children because they would not be able to cock it for any length of time. Noise level is not bad at all and should not bother your neighbors. Now for the Chrony speeds after 300 pellets: CP domed, 14.3 gn. = 890 fps / CP hollow point, 14.3 gn. = 875 fps / Beeman Silver Bear, 12.65 gn. = 955 fps. This gun should begin to shot faster as the barrel smooths and breaks in. I gave the "over-all rating" a "4" because I would prefer a wood stock and metal trigger but this rifle is a great buy for the money. *Note* if you intend to shoot at prey keep in mind that your pellets will most likely go straight through. This being said be aware of what's further down range.

This rifle (I have 0.177" version) is powerful and fairly accurate at 40 yards (I haven't tried other distances.) Pellets have lots of energy. The scope is adequate, though not nearly as good as $150 scopes (AirForce) that you can buy separately. Safety switch (tang) is excellent, and safety is automatic. Trigger is OK, no complaints.

The scope mounts are not as sturdy as Gamo. Dovetail grooves on the receiver are milled into small islands, this limits placement of scope mounts. The barrel has to be snapped back, a gentle push won't do it. The rifle is heavier than many other, so shooting from standing position should be probably avoided.

This is a heavy, loud rifle, and it is quite hard to cock - a good exercise, by the way. Most pellets that I tried easily exceed the speed of sound, that contributes to the noise. You *must* wear hearing protection when shooting this rifle; the loudness rating "3 - Medium" is deceivingly low. Still don't expect a flat trajectory like .17 HMR - longer shots (60-80 yards) will require a considerable hold, and you'll need a scope with a mil-dot reticle for that.

This rifle has some heft to it which I like as it makes for a steadier hold on the target, at least for me. Being as I never shot it's counter part, the Walther Talon Magnum with just the spring propulsion I can't make a comparison in the effort required to cock this gun. I can tell you that although it does require an adults strength to do it I have shot rifles in the same speed zone that needed a much more pull and therefore ended the days shooting much quicker. After mounting the scope that came with the gun I went to my shooting range and began firing at 40 ft. I was using my standard targets Gamo 5.5x5.5 and went about 4 ins. to the left. After 2 more tries with adjustments I was there and moved back to about 50 yds. Within 3 more rounds I was able to put 8 out of 10 into the center, more than accurate enough to take out any pests that came into my gardens.

There's really not anything I can think of that could improve this gun much and yet keep it in the same price range.

Be aware that this is a longer rifle than many and therefore needs a longer case to safely transport it. Also, though it's only a .177 cal., with the right type of ammo and a decent job of sighting in this gun it will take down most small game with a single kill shot.
