Bought this rack about a month ago. Fits a traditional road bike fine. But we cannot get 4 mountain bikes (Trek) on this rack because of the way the rack gets thicker towards the back. Top tube and seat tube is too narrow for the width of the rack. Will be looking for a different rack in the very near future. Also, you can purchase a lock for your hitch. But doesn't prevent someone from unscrewing the vertical attachment of the rack and taking off with your bikes and a good portion of the rack.
spent a very long time trying to mount my 3 bikes I have 2 comfort bikes and a mountain bike. I had to purchase 2 cross braces and also the biggest bike rack I could find just to accommodate 3 bikes and still I had to remove some bike accessories to allow safe bike mounting and to avoid scratching my bikes and vehicle.
I use this to carry my wife's and my bike to take the kids for rides. Easily supports mine bike. A little difficulty with my wife's. We need a bike-bar so that her bike sits property on the rack.
It is a great rack but it is hard to fit bikes with weird frames on it.
We purchased the bones bike rack for a trip to Niagara falls. We had a great time riding through the falls on our bikes. Being able to take our bikes on vacation in a convenient way is wonderful. Great investment!

Had been using a straight-bar hitch mount rack for 20 years, replaced it when the rubber straps all broke. Wow, what an improvement this rack is! Bikes are very secure and much easier to fit together on the rack due to the offset heights of sequential rest-pads (neighboring seats and handlebars don't seem to want to be in the same space as much); rack feels very stable, and very easy to drop rack to open rear gate as well as to drop arms when not in use.
