Saris Glide EX 5-Bike Hitch Bike Rack w/One Hand Trigger Release, Black

We installed this on our Expedition a few months ago and left it on all summer. It is so convenient to tilt it down and get to the cargo area and it doesn't block much of the rear view. We've taken this on several road trips with 5 bikes attached and it performs really well. Having access to the rear hatch (even with 5 bikes mounted) is a game changer for road trips. It is easier to raise and lower (when loaded with bikes) than I anticipated. When not in use, we keep the arm folded down and it's really low profile. The only downside is that it activates the backup sensor when in reverse. It is challenging to get 5 bikes on at a time, but super easy to fit 1-3 at a time. With five bikes, you really have to work to make them all fit. We have some smaller bikes for our kids that need the extra crossbar attachments when trying to fit 5 at a time. However, once you get them all loaded it is really easy to lock them with the included cable and they feel very secure. The rack is stiff and doesn't move around even fully loaded. After a few longer trips with the bikes all loaded, I did have to tighten the bolt attachment to the hitch and the lower pivot bolts to stiffen it back up, but that seems like normal maintenance for a rack holding almost 150lbs of bikes.

We just recently returned from a 6,000-mile cross-country road trip with our new rack. We carried two adult mountain bikes, two kids' bikes, and a strider. We had to get a little creative to get them all to fit, but they did. Being able to lower the bikes to access the rear hatch whenever we needed was very helpful.

We were so pleased to be able to find this in stock. Finding a rack to accommodate 5 bikes is not easy. We arepleased with the rack. Installation the first time was a learnig curve for us, but the second time was smoother. We really like the ability to adjust the rack position to allow the minivan trunk to open. However, as a family with younger kids and women, we needed to get adapters for all bikes except mine (adult male bike). That was a considerable additional expense.

this is our second Saris rack, (the old one lasted 8 years) still has a couple left. The EZ Glide is easy for me, however my 100 lb. spouse has some difficulty. Need to break-in and can report. I love the convenience of the rack, but again, my spouse has some difficulty lifting bikes up high enough for rack. Much higher than prior Saris rack. I love it

We purchased this for our family of five for use with our minivan. We were skeptical that this would work to have all of our bikes on it and still have access to open the tailgate. However, we have been happy with our previous Saris hitch rack so we decided to give this one a try. We have been on two short trips with this rack and have been very impressed with its ease of use, quality, and performance. I feel fortunate to have gotten this rack before the product was discontinued and I hope Saris continues to have a 5 bike option like this in its lineup.

I purchased the Glide EX 4 the summer of 2019 and used it a lot as the boys ride to school and I'd have to pick them up for appointments so I put the bikes on the rack. We also used it to go to many parks to ride the trails. Then I was rear-ended doing a retirement teacher parade during COVID in June 2020 and found out there was a waitlist as everything was sold out. I opted for the Glide EX 5-bike rack this time as we take my son's friends along to some of the parks. This is American made and solidly built. I love that I can access my SUV without having to remove all the bikes from the rack. It is solid and doesn't shake or vibrate. It is easy to install. I did have my son hold it while I used the socket wrench. Thank you for making such a quality product and for creating a waiting list. Would you consider making a bike rack cover (similar to the jeep wrangler tire covers???? - just a thought - if I could make them I would, I got rid of my sewing machine a decade ago).

This rack is in a league of its own. We love that it allows bikes to stay racked and can tilt to access the trunk without removing the bikes. It feels really well made and attached easily to our hitch. We have three little kids and will be purchasing the extender bars to fit our son’s 18” frame.

What sold me on this rack was the ability to tilt it away *While bikes are loaded*. Yes, it works. Brilliant - solves the obvious and often problem of a needed item in the back of the SUV.
