Description
Take your self-defense preparedness to the next level with the Vortex Defender-CCW 6 MOA Red Dot. It’s perfect for compact EDC pistols and boasts the popular Shield RMSc footprint. A CR1632 battery powers the 10 brightness levels with a 9,500 hour runtime. Giving the battery an efficiency boost is an auto-off feature that shuts the optic down after 10 minutes of inactivity with motion activation. That way, it’s always ready when needed and turns on automatically when drawn from a holster.
It’s built out of a single-piece aluminum chassis meant to withstand abuse and features the Fast-Rack™ Texture for easy one-handed slide racking. It’s fog proof, waterproof, shockproof, matte black anodized, and ships with the Vortex VIP Lifetime Warranty. So, if it does somehow manage to break, it’s covered. It’s a lightweight optic that tips the scale at only .95 ounces with an overall length of 1.6 inches.
Windage and elevation are both adjustable in 1 MOA clicks. It includes a shim plate, a Picatinny rail mount, a rubber cover, a lens cloth, a CR1632 battery, a tool, and 6 sets of common mounting screws.
If you’re finally ready to put an optic on your defensive pistol, then check out the Vortex Defender-CCW Red Dot. Buy yours from Pyramyd AIR, today.

10 of 30 Vortex Defender-CCW Red Dot Sight Reviews
Glass is very clear and red dot is crisp. Currently have it mounted to a Mantis training pistol, so I really can't speak on how well it holds up to recoil. Eventually it'll live on a subcompact pistol.
It’s a great little dot, slim profile, easy straightforward mounting, crisp dot.
I have a Holosun 507 on my Sig 365 Macro. It works flawlessly. I decided to try a Vortex product for the first time. I purchased this optic to be mounted on an HK CC9. I will say this optic performs as well as the Holosun and at this purchase price it's a steal . If your shopping for a very good optic, this is the one to select.
Very happy with this purchase - works great on my Glock 43
Great reddot for the price, comes with a complete array of mounting options.
The installation process is incredibly straightforward, thanks to the comprehensive instruction booklet that provides the recommended torque specifications. The functionality is intuitive, as the guide clearly explains the purpose of each button. The red dot is highly visible, and the shake a wake feature operates flawlessly. However, the low profile of the device made it challenging to co witness sights on an Xmacro.
Comes with everything. No need to purchase extra parts.
This is how all products should be presented to the customer: Everything, literally everything you need to mount the CCW is included in the box, instructions are clear and precise, screws and tool are of excellent quality (I should know, I'm a mechanical engineer), this really is a plug-and-play experience. Many kudos to Vortex Optics for the amount or RESPECT they show to the end user. Definitely recommended!
I got my ccw defender shortly after it released from my local store when I found out it was a direct bolt on for my HCP. I didn’t want to have to use a plate so I could co-witness the red dot with my irons. I want to update to the new one with the shorter timer but I been waiting and hoping for vortex to drop it in a green dot also. I have the Strikefire 2 + magnifier on my rifle and love that it swaps from red to green. Would love to have the green option on my pistol.
