Things I liked: Perfect for quick target (destructive red squirrels) acquisition.
Things I would have changed: Nothing
What others should know: Great scope for quick target acquisition.
Things I liked: Raucous excellence! Great match for my 2240! It fits onto the forward section of the 2240 steel breech upgrade without compromising access to the loading tray. Original sights could not accommodate the large deviation I found in common rounds. This solved all that with monster accuracy and helps me explore the performance limits of the 2240 - ahem, it's a better set up than I am a shooter, for sure!!! The lens covers act like sunglasses when in very high light conditions. Adjustment clicks are 1 MOA so sighting in on the 10 M pistol range can be very accurate indeed.
Things I would have changed: Mounts took a quite a lot of futzing to get them to sit straight. But once I hit the sweet spot, it's fine. Perhaps better/sharper mounting claws that are easier to install flush and true.
What others should know: Don't get faked out - the picture on this website is old/outdated or just wrong. The instrument I received is the Hawke model #12120 and looks different. Inexplicably, immediately after buying this device from PA, the website states "unavailable". Huh? This product is baddazz! Yeah, it's $10 more than the other Hawke red dot that looks identical, and I don't know you get for $10 difference. I can guarantee this model works on a 2240 with steel breech upgrade. If I can figure out how, I'll upload pics of my 2240 with Hawke 12120 mounted, plus the target after sighting in and wadcutter rounds I used. I'm a total newbie to pellet pistols. So if I can get groups like in my pic using the Hawke, imagine what an experienced shooter could do with this fine piece of British optics!
