I get that it workswith the "plain" P226 X-Five, but will this work with the P226 X-Five Open Combo? Concern lies with the Open version's magwell.... as this is a flat base and the magwell seems to add some extra deepness.... Has anyone test it this on the Open Combo version? So upon reading the reviews, seems several people have issues with them on the Open version, a seem to work fix relates removing the extended magwell... thus defeating the purpose.... I'll keep looking..... else I will go with the plain P226....
As you may have already guessed, they work with the Open even with the extended magwell. It's just not as smooth inserting the mag. unless you palm the baseplate's lip. I specifically bought 2 of the flat-base mag's when I bought the Open, and removed the magwell. Now I regret it because the extended mag's seem to have disappeared, and now I want them for the Open with the magwell reinstalled, with the flat-bases retasked to the X-Five "silver" with the magwell removed. I also wish there are spare "silver" mag's avail. We may need to wait YEARS before that happens.
Does this magazine include at least one new screw that holds the co2 cartridges in place?
Yes, plus a hex wrench too.
Is the mag metal or plastic?
Yikes, plastic mag's for a GBB Pistol?? I've never even heard of one. Even those that try to emulate polymer mag's might only have a plastic shell on the outside but actually covering up a metal body. Now, some NBB pistols have mag's that are either metal or plastic. Umarex's USP is one example.
metal
