HFC HG-196 Full Metal Gas Airsoft Pistol

This gun looks fantastic! And the weight is and feel are awesome!

The magazine is terrible its difficult to load. A real wood handle and blowback and make the mag hold C02 instead of this terrible greengas stuff and not need 3 hands to load the mag would be awesome.

This gun makes good addition if your into collecting classic German firearms. This gun comes SO close to being a great gun that I intend to keep it even if I never fire it again. If this gun functioned like its BB gun counter part it'd be an easy 10, as it is I'd give it a 5.5 maybe a 6.

What can I say: this pistol is just loads of fun to shoot. Very hefty, very accurate, authentic design, short recocking blowback.

Wish the magazine held more ammo.

Great gun. No blowback but I am not convinced that blowback is a good thing, at least in some guns. I have an original Mauser Broomhandle and the weight, balance and handling are almost a complete match.

Nothing - I like the gun as is.

Very realistic. Heavy but not uncomfortable. Has good power. Feels really solid and shoots hard. I use .20s but have tried .25s & .28s. It's pretty accurate but remember ----- it's a pistol not a sniper rifle!

Not really anything. Green gas does give you very many shots on a fill. Co2 version I would like better but.....

Finding a holster isn't easy. Drop holsters aren't good because of the weight and balance of the pistol--- the pistol really flops around. What i did was use a surplus 1911 Colt .45 leather holster with the big flap on it and put it on a 2'' pistol belt. I cut opened the bottom of the holster (it's closed off) so the long barrel could come thru and then cut open the side so the magazine would fit. Then closed the flap to hold it in place. Works like a charm. Have used it in 2 battles----never fell out even with lots of running and crawling. Other players were scared of it!

the gun is very heavy and feels like the real thing. the sights are very well-built and strong. the mauser 98k's sights are very alike to these. the gun fits very nicly in my hand and is very accurate. it hits nice and hard. it is a lot better than most if not all airsoft pistols that i have seen. i reccomend this for people who are just starting out and for people who have been airsofting for a wile.

not very much is wrong with it.

there are hardly any moving parts so it is less likely to freeze in the winter (i would know, i live in wisconsin). i searched and searched all over and could not find a better deal. this gun is a lot better than some that i have looked at. if you are considering buying this, go for it.

The gun looks and feels very realistic with certain features replicated very well such as the sight and safety. The two best selling points for this gun in my opinion are its classy styling and rediculous power.

Unfortunately I found the gun to feel much better without the mag in it. A fully loaded mag inserted, the weight of the gun shifts entirely forward and as such it's very awkward to hold and not comfortable at all. Granted it's realistic, but if you intend to actually play games with it, it could get a bit obnoxious as it's not the easiest gun to aim or holster. I would only recommend that the mag's weight be reduced and the grips be made out of real wood, though they do look great as is (no "real" complaint).

If you love this particular model of gun for its historical significance and have no desire to buy the real firearm then I highly recommend this piece. It's very fun to shoot and is obviously much safer to fire around than the real thing. However if it is your intention to use the thing in actual airsoft games, I suggest you look for something else. The accuracy on this drops considerably (partly due to its awkward balance) as does the power at about half the range of other gas pistols and it is prone to minor mechanical problems such as feeding issues. Also, it is a very awkward gun to lug around and as previously mentioned needs a special holster. If you do take it into battle though I highly recommend using .23 bbs as they'll no doubt be more accurate and you'l still be shooting in the mid to high 300fps. Also, there is a lanyard loop on the butt of the grip - please use it, it's an awesome look.

Magazine intake valve leaks trigger pull a touch hard but so is the real one

Its a fun gun with a lot of history but I would not carry it in a game

the oldschool look and realistic apperance of the weapon

i would give it bigger clip to hold more rounds and gas but everything else is fine

this is the best airsoft pistol out ther in my opinionif your a big airsofter get one
