Walther Rotek Air Rifle

Was out shooting this little wonder at 50 yds this morning and it is awesome.

Well the gun is regulated so if your getting an extreme spread like that your regulator is clearly not working and whomever you talked to at umarex told you wrong. Send the gun back and tell them your regulator is not working. Also let them know that you we're given incorrect info when you called and talked to a CSR and let them know you are very unhappy. This gun with the Manelli Stock and the LW Barrel along with Regulator and 3300+ psi fill w/So Called Match Grade Trigger at its offered price should be selling like hot cakes and it should be a very top of the line gun. Makes me wonder why its not really selling. Atleast not in the U.S. Market. Also the Reviews have been few and not been no where near as flattering as they should be. Ive been interested in this Gun for a while but I still just cant commit to buying it. I really like the sound of the gun by the specs and discription but like the old saying goes, If it sounds too good to be true... It probably is. Unfortunately.

I used Air Arms 10.30 with the test at 25 yards the rifle was very accurate but extreme spread worries me about how the rifle will be at greater distances. I also brought a Benjamin Maximus the extreme spread over 20 shots was only 30 FPS. if the Rotek was 30FPS it would be a winner

With which pellets? You have to shoot with more than one pellet to find out what it is really capable of. I'm sad to see this review skew the average rating of the rifle.

Loren, I have a .22 Hammerli 850 converted to PCP and 7 clips. (they're not magazines, since there are no moving parts) The clips are plastic, but the locator detents are metal. This looks identical to the Hammerli 850 action. My 850 has a factory Hammerli brake. Covered that with heat shrink and it is VERY quiet. Just more muzzle heavy and uglier than these. Shoots at about 28 FPE.

Actually, you can tinker with trigger adjustment screws for better than out the box pull.

True, but it seems as long as the cycling pin contacts the metal gears center of the mag you're good to go. Also, TKO makes a moderator that makes the rotek's bark whisper-like...worth the $90 bucks if you're looking to make this rifle "back yard friendly" as they say.

I called Umarex (1-479-646-4210) inquiring about spare mags and their sales rep said that they don't stock spares for the Rotek, but that they use the Hammerli mags when they have to test Roteks after repair. Said they work fine so I had them ship me a few and I've had no problems. Give them a call for more info.

These are regulated air rifles!! Just to be clear, these rifles, according to those who have taken them apart and looked or tuned their own Rotek R8s a regulator is built in, I've read that at some sites and not others, went to forums for actual information on subject and indeed it's true. Not sure why this isn't stated clearly as its a selling point PA?

It's actually a lot of rifle for the money, Minelli Stock, regulated, Lothar Walther barrel, match grade trigger (their specs) big bottle (can be taken off, for testing and return only, not for spare.I hear Walther will replace after 10 years free!?, Maybe original owner only? Still way cool if true) made in Germany and solid as a rock, for entry level fee of $650 you won't get more bang for your dollar.
