Things I liked: Under $100 dollars, including a decent scope. Multi pump, variable power, and zero recoil, no special hold required to be accurate. Simply aim and shoot, hold it however you want. And use any scope you want, does not require a special airgun scope like the springers do. Also very accurate with pellets, and very good power, definitely enough to take down small pest animals such as starlings, pidgeons, squirrels, rats, and snakes. There are very few air rifles at this price point that can do as much as this rifle can. This is an all weather airgun, no worries about getting wood wet or scratched, or blued steel rusted, as there are none of these materials on this rifle. The plastics are solid and of a tough compound. Internals are of the old daisy 880 design and that is well proven over the past 40 years. Also parts are available and easy to do a rebuild if necessary. No special tools needed. Cheap gun? Yes. But it does what it was designed to do.
Things I would have changed: A metal pump handle would be nice, but the plastic one works fine and does not flex, and pumping it is very easy and won't wear you out. Also the pellet loading port is a pain, it takes practice to load.
What others should know: This rifle is MUCH easier to shoot accurately than a break barrel springer. However, it is more difficult to load a pellet. Overall I would say this is a very good value for what you get , and it looks pretty cool too.
Things I liked: Really a great value for the money. The gun looks great and shoots very well. It's easy to load BBs and the internal storage is excellent.
Things I would have changed: The scope is pretty weak (which was my main draw to this gun), my eye piece has the cross off center and I'm not sure how to change it.
What others should know: For beginners (like me), it's very difficult to "sign in" the scope. I wish the scope was mounted and "sighted" from the factory.
Things I liked: Yes it is a Daisy 880, but it has better scope and a nicer stock. Have had mine for 5 years and still shooting like new. Usually shoot with 8 pumps, very good accuracy with RWS hollows points or Basics.
Things I would have changed: Not a thing!
What others should know: Put a 3x9 scope on mine now I can shoot well ay 20 yards.

Is the butt stock hollow on thus gun? I know the 880s are a hollow plastic.
Yes essentially an 880 with a different stock .
It is have barrel grooves?
The barrel has rifling .
Is the winchester 77xs the same as the daisy 880s?
Yes it is the same basic unit sold by Daisy. It just says WINCHESTER on the side but daisy makes them for winchester. I have one and i like the ambidextrous thumbhole stock better than the original design , much easier to use. You just have ask yourself if you want to spend an extra 30.00 on it or not for the same rifle with a different stock.P.A. gives out a great deal i have seen these elsewhere for at least 120.00 on sale!! Don't pay that much.......
