I like the 218s in the H & N h.p. .22 slugs especially the 23.00 gr. which has the cluster grouping, which is tight along with the 30 gr. but had tested all in my Seneca Eagle Claw at full charge & power avg. 1027 F.P.S. E.S. of 7 & standard deviation of 2 for 6 shots @ the chrony! but again, the 23.00 gr. is the best ! I may test it again next time on my other pcps!
Things I would have changed:Nothing, my only gripe are slugs drop of on my mag often if you forgot to put a finger on the opposite side!
What others should know:These are nicely made slugs, but I wonder, why it has a slightly lower B.C.s compared to other slugs, but thats okay!

The H & N .22 slug in 218, has been consistent in my BSA, fits best in the mag & flash fit on the breech as compared to the other one, with the 23 gr. surprisingly with a higher B.C. in 38 [email protected] an AVG. of 819 F.P.S. on a five shot string! nice grouping was the 30 gr with the 27gr. a close second !
Things I would have changed:I think H & N has the nicest slugs in production with the affordable sampler, but the only thing that it lacks is the maximum expansion of their slugs! a bit hard to expand maybe due to its composition!
What others should know:These are nice slugs for hunting as you can choose different weights on any applicable velocity & range on your pcp!

Any idea what the bore diameter is on the new Springfield M1A?
How well do these work in a break barrel rifle?
What is the length of each of these slugs by weight? Need to know if they will fit into my .22 Ataman M2R magazine which has a maximum length of 9.00 mm. Thank You, Jay
We do not try slugs in magazines. They may fit the Ataman magazine.

I have an FX Crown .22, using a slug A liner to test this sampler pack. The .218's were more accurate than the .217's as a general rule out of my rifle: your rifle may prove to be just the opposite.... that's the way air guns are.... strange but true. So I would suggest trying both sampler packs. My Crown liked the 23 grain the best, followed closely by the 27 grain.... the 21, 25, and 30 grains did not do very well. I like how smoothly they load and every slug, no matter the weight, cycled flawlessly..... awesome!
Things I would have changed:They worked perfectly in my gun so I have no need for any changes.
What others should know:Two things. Firstly, when you do buy a tin of your favourite (favorite if you are in Canada) slug, you will find that the slugs are a dark bluish colour (this is normal and everything is A-OKAY, so carry on), and they are somewhat slippery because of a coating of oil (I think it's oil?).... this too is normal and is a great bonus for us buyers because it will keep our barrels clean and help a lot with accuracy. Secondly, there are flakes of lead on the slugs that need to be removed before loading them into your gun.... I simply dump out all 200 slugs and one-by-one use my fingers to remove the flakes, just wiping my fingers that now have the flakes on them, onto my jeans.... sounds archaic but it is fast and simple. Anyways do not wash them because you may remove the oil along with the flakes. Sounds like a lot of work, I know, but the results are well worth one's time! Oh, and check every slug for flaws.... I average about 10 slugs per tin that I discard. That's normal too!
