Accessories All Airgunners Need
Here are just a few of the best air gun accessories you need on-hand:
Scope (Rifle Scopes/Red Dot Scopes)
Rifle scopes are used for two purposes, to help you to aim at your target effectively and to allow you to have a clear image of what is beyond the scope. This is an invaluable feature when hunting for animals that could be dodging around in the bushes. Furthermore, it's useful if your gun isn't powerful enough to get the job done in one shot.
If you are a beginner, a scope can be an excellent tool for learning how to aim correctly and it will also give you more confidence when firing your gun. The only drawback is that it will increase the weight of your gun noticeably, adding anything from 100g up to almost 1kg.
If you are an experienced shooter, a scope may be counter-productive. It will help you see what's beyond your target, but that can be a distraction from the shot. For the same purpose, you could also use a red dot sight.
Shooting Mat
Shooting mats are one of the most popular air gun accessories. It makes shooting more comfortable and it will protect your clothes. Mats are useful to keep loose objects safe while you are shooting or if you need something to rest on. If you are going to use an electronic target device, this is essential as it will protect your electronics from the impact of any pellets.
Shooting Bag
Shooting bags provide something for the butt of the air gun to rest on and stop it from sinking into the mud (or other soft surfaces). They also act as a barrier that keeps things out of the magazine. This is especially important when you have loose items, such as ammunition or energy bars that you can store easily in your bag!
Cleaning Accessories
Air guns get dirty over time. To make sure that it works as smoothly and safely as possible, you should use cleaning accessories, such as chamber lube oil (silicone-based), barrel swabs, cleaning pellets and gun oil. Basic oil that you can buy from a hardware store is not going to be sufficient. For proper maintenance, you need specialized products such as silicone-based lube or air gun oil.
