Description
One of the largest charging tanks available in the marketplace, the Air Venturi Carbon Fiber Charging Tank weighs much less than a steel scuba tank. Better yet, the advantage of carbon fiber over steel allows for a higher pressure capability of 4,500 psi, meaning more charges for your favorite PCP airgun and more shooting time for you.
Fill your air rifles and pistols with the simple fittings and be on your way to more pest control, target shooting and even competition. With 4,500 psi and a substantial 74 cu. ft. capacity, enjoy the most refills of your 3,000 psi airguns. The tank features stainless steel fittings, a 24 in. microbore hose and a rubberized hand wheel for controlled filling. The integrated pressure gauge lets you know when you're reaching your full charge, and the bleed valve is conveniently located on the valve.
Even shooting teams will be delighted at the number of fills they get from the Air Venturi Carbon Fiber PCP Charging Station. Averaging more than 35 fills, this tank is a practical choice for many shooting venues. For example, approximately 32 charges are provided on a 3,000 psi gun with a 215cc cylinder from a beginning gun reservoir pressure of 1,500 psi. You can expect more than 15 full charges on an empty 3,000 psi gun with a 215cc cylinder. (The total number of fills vary based on the maximum charging capacity and the reservoir size of the gun(s) being charged.)
This air tank features an in-line gauge that shows the pressure in the line as you are refilling the tank, which is helpful to prevent overfilling. This gauge does NOT show internal pressure! To check your internal pressure, plug the end of the hose with a test plug and open the valve with the bleeder fully closed.
Additionally, there may be a slight movement in gauge’s valve connection when not under pressure. This is no cause for concern and will not cause any leaks or malfunctions in use.
This tank has a 5-year retest cycle and a 15-year life cycle.
Before purchase, please contact your local air supplier to see if they can fill this tank or buy one of our compressors.
This carbon fiber tank has a 300 bar DIN valve. Your local dive shop will have the ability to fill your tank.
If you plan on filling your high-pressure carbon fiber tank at a paintball shop, you will need to fill through the hose on the charging station with the Air Venturi Double Male Quick-Disconnect Coupling AV-00046 [Air Venturi Double Male Quick-Disconnect...].
To fill at a firehouse, you will need to fill through the hose on the charging station with the Air Venturi Firehouse Adapter, Male SCBA Fitting With Male Quick-Disconnect For Adapting To Firehouse Fill Stations AV-00048M [Air Venturi Firehouse Adapter, Male...].
PLEASE NOTE: This is a carbon fiber tank. In many towns, your local fire department has a compressor that can fill a high-pressure carbon fiber tank, as firefighters use similar tanks for breathing equipment during rescues.
The calculations below assume the 74cu ft Wingman is filled to 4500 PSI. A "full fill" refers to the gun being refilled to the maximum operating pressure. It's important to understand that most rifles do not need to be filled to their max pressure to offer a good number of consistent, usable shots.

The fast response when I needed to exchange the tank due to a frozen valve when the tank was filled to 4500 psi. Even with the replacement tank I needed to use a pair of channel locks on the valve to get it to turn when the tank was completely filled. As the pressure has decreased the valve has become easier to turn by hand.
Things I Would Have ChangedSend the customer a tank manufactured within the past 12 months.
What Others Should KnowCustomers should be told up front that the 15 year tank they are receiving may already be two years old, thus losing over 10%+ of its life before testing is required, yet the customer isn't getting a 10%+ discount on the tank. I think this is pretty shady.
Nice size. The 74cuft was plenty of air for me. The micro hose regulates the fill time so you do not have to worry about filling your gun too quickly. Great tank for the price.
Things I Would Have ChangedTank should include a male to male adapter.
What Others Should KnowThe hose does not have a quick detach. So you will need to buy a male to male adapter for the hose to fill the tank.
Very light and easy to use.
Things I Would Have ChangedAn attachment that creates a flat bottom. It's not ideal to have a pressurized canister that can't support itself. I know you can buy an attachment, but it would be ideal to have a display of the internal pressure. The thing costs over $500 after all.
What Others Should KnowI had it filled by my local paintball facility. Cost about $20 - which I found very reasonable. He said it made him a bit nervous because it makes a lot of creaking noise, etc...which I assume is normal for carbon fiber.
Nice tank just the right size
Things I Would Have ChangedThe date on the tank is 2020 thats 2years old so guess I only can have it filled for three years by some one else that is a real bummer, not happy.
What Others Should KnowBe careful its a role of the dice on hydrostat date . Hopefully you do better than me
Fast and silent PCP re-charging.
Things I Would Have ChangedMy tank was already 19 months into the 15 year service life when received. Contacted Pyramyd; they gave me an account credit (bullseye bucks) to compensate for that.
What Others Should KnowSoooo glad I went with a tank instead of a small compressor and air/oil separator. So convenient! Worth the trips to the dive shop for tank refills, over the noise, re-charge time and maintenance of a compressor.
Looks alright
Things I Would Have ChangedPackaging and price
What Others Should KnowMuch better options out there for the same price
Earlier I reported I had sent this tank to a Crosman repair station about 60 miles from my home. About 2 weeks later it was returned to me. I tried to fill it to 4400 psi but could only achieve 3100 psi. Since then the tank has lost some pressure.
Things I Would Have ChangedI guess this website must stock this tank regardless of its faults. Sad state of affairs.
What Others Should KnowPlease look elsewhere for a tank. This website normally stocks great gear and I have purchased over $1,500 in merchandise over the past 2 years from them. So I like, and trust, them, OK? I am not trashing the website, just the tank.
The tank appears to be well built, and the valve operates smoothly. PA was extremely responsive in replacing the malfunctioning Foster fitting that came with the tank.
Things I Would Have ChangedI changed the gauge to this one that I found on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/192831726337?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 The gauge that it comes with is not liquid filled and is in Bars. I also added a spring to the air line so that it does not get kinked when filling my rifles.
What Others Should KnowThe Foster fitting supplied with the tank was extremely hard to get on and off. I contacted PA and they send me a replacement. When replacing the unit, I found the one that came on the tank did not have the restrictor screw that was supplied with the new unit. I think this is might be what slows the airflow down so you don't damage your regulators when filling you rifle. I recommend anyone buying one of these to remove the Foster fitting and insure the restrictor is installed.
The freedom of being able to go into the woods and have air to refill when needed
Things I Would Have ChangedI would rather see PSI instead of Bar. I will be changing out the reg to a two gauge system so I can see bottle PSI and Line PSI
What Others Should KnowThis is a must have for anyone with a PCP . Be careful when opening the valve to fill your rifle the first couple of times until you see how fast the air comes out. A slight move on the valve rushes air to your rifle. Creep it open
