This fine air rifle is modelled after the legendary 1866 Winchester Yellow Boy lever action rifle with its famous shiny brass receiver, thus the Barra 1866 boasts an historically accurate look. This was a major reason why I purchased this rifle.

It can shoot both BBs and pellets. I found loading the pellets a bit finicky but if you insert them rounded-end down, they load more easily. Getting a BB into the chamber also takes some jiggling and shaking. The rifle is highly accurate, even from long range. In a shooting test both the BBs and the pellets completely penetrated and passed through milk cartons filled with water. Firing BBs and pellets at a water-filled PET plastic bottle and a glass bottle resulted in both types of ammunition ricocheting off.

The rifle feels solid in the hand. It is constructed of high-quality plastic and metal. The stock has a realistic wood finish. The receiver is gold, high-grade plastic and a real eye-catcher. The lever pump is reinforced nylon resin, and takes a bit getting used to because you really have to pull it up firmly to get it to release. The loading bolt is very sold and made of metal. Its action is smooth. The box is well-constructed and Barra thoughtfully includes protective goggles, 1,000 BBs and targets.

The instruction booklet is excellent: clearly written and in color. It covers trouble-shooting and care of the rifle, which is extremely helpful.

This is an excellent rifle: attractive, easy to use, historical, solidly constructed, accurate and fun to shoot for both kids and adults.

I like where the safety is it makes it more realistic. If you are looking for a cool, awesome airgun this is a good one to get.

It's only good for about a 15-20 foot shot before BB just pretty quick, which is to be expected with junior gun. Easy operation my 10 year old has no problem using the functions.

I got this 1866 air rifle as my son's first! He absolutely loves it. The quality is fantastic and great for him to practice hitting targets!

This is my sons first BB gun. He loves the gold and the size is perfect. Some of the plastic parts look like they may be an issue but so far so good.

I like the fact that you have to take more then one step to load this BB gun it teaches kids that there is steps to firing a weapon

This Air Rifle 1866 Junior is a very nice air rifle. It is very easy to use, and very accurate. I purchased this rifle for my grandson. We have shot some cans and several other paper targets

I got my son this air rifle and he loves it! It looks incredible and it shoots really well. I highly recommend buying it!

I like the feeling but the sights could be better like adding a sniper scope or something the color is nice an it's not hard to work with.

Love the bolt action before pumping, perfect size for my 5 year old, will definitely be purchasing more from your company

good gun shoots straight but the trigger is a little to tight should be easier to squeeze with out so much resistance

I bought this for my grandson. And I will never forget the excitement, wonder and joy in his eyes. His favorite cowboy is John Wayne. Regular airguns are too long for him and the junior was sized perfect. I told him to use the BBs for target practice and the pellets so his mother can make him a pot of squirrel dumplings.

I don't dislike this gun it's not the best gun but it still does the job it's great with target practice and give pretty good range. It's a little confused at fist to get the hang of it but the Manuel was straight forward and really fast on learning how to use it properly.

It is very easy to easy to use. Good for target practice. Bought to scare off squirrels and cats.

This gun was ideal gift for my son.. Easy to load and shoot, and light enough for toting around. Would definitely recommend to others!
