I purchased the Barra 1866 Junior Air Rifle for my son for Christmas. As the Dad I am, I opened it and checked it out and I am very surprised and impressed at the quality of this rifle! I also got my daughters Daisy air rifles and the Barra is beyond compare. The price is great, and doesn't break the bank! I'm genuinely impressed and glad I went with Barra! Gonna have to replace my daughters Daisy rifles with Barra's rose gold 1866 Junior models!

I BOUGHT THIS FOR BOTH OF MY SONS. THIS IS MY TEN YEAR OLDS REVIEW. I LOVE THE WAY THAT IT SHOOTS. I LIKE THE LENGTH OF THE GUN AND THE COLOR. IT IS VERY COMFORTABLE WHEN I HOLD IT. OVERALL ONE OF MY FAVORITES!

I like everything that they said about the gun and feel the company was accurate in all they described. My son will have plenty of fun with it. Also like where the safety switch is. The pumping handle is long and a little flimsy and wonder the durability of it is the only complaint I might have.

Bought to match Golden Boy lever action rifle. Great fun for adults as well as the grandkids to shoot and use for pest control. Amazed at accuracy for a BB gun. Would recommend to anyone.

What I like is that it looks very pretty with its color and design and what I don't like is that it is more plastic than iron and if it can break easier.

This fine air rifle is modelled after the legendary 1866 Winchester Yellow Boy lever action rifle with its famous shiny brass receiver, thus the Barra 1866 boasts an historically accurate look. This was a major reason why I purchased this rifle.
It can shoot both BBs and pellets. I found loading the pellets a bit finicky but if you insert them rounded-end down, they load more easily. Getting a BB into the chamber also takes some jiggling and shaking. The rifle is highly accurate, even from long range. In a shooting test both the BBs and the pellets completely penetrated and passed through milk cartons filled with water. Firing BBs and pellets at a water-filled PET plastic bottle and a glass bottle resulted in both types of ammunition ricocheting off.
The rifle feels solid in the hand. It is constructed of high-quality plastic and metal. The stock has a realistic wood finish. The receiver is gold, high-grade plastic and a real eye-catcher. The lever pump is reinforced nylon resin, and takes a bit getting used to because you really have to pull it up firmly to get it to release. The loading bolt is very sold and made of metal. Its action is smooth. The box is well-constructed and Barra thoughtfully includes protective goggles, 1,000 BBs and targets.
The instruction booklet is excellent: clearly written and in color. It covers trouble-shooting and care of the rifle, which is extremely helpful.
This is an excellent rifle: attractive, easy to use, historical, solidly constructed, accurate and fun to shoot for both kids and adults.

I like where the safety is it makes it more realistic. If you are looking for a cool, awesome airgun this is a good one to get.
