    Things I liked:

Very powerful and quiet at a decent price. Trigger is much improved over older models...this is the biggest improvement. Pull is also significantly lighter.

    Things I would have changed:

Recoil is pretty substantial for a pellet gun though it's nothing compared to most firearms (exception 22 LR). Crossman quality control needs to get much better (loose parts). Also I replaced the Center Point Scope with a Bushnell Banner due to better clarity.

    What others should know:

I have to admit my initial experience with the gun was not good. It could not keep a group at 25 yards. However, after realizing the rear screw that connects the action to the stock was loose and the baffle on the barrel was loose I identified the problem. I tightened those, cleaned the barrel twice through 1000+ shots and selected the right pellet (cheap Crossman destroyers)and now it is grouping very well. I can hit a 1.5 inch group at 25 yards.

    Things I liked:

Easy cocking, nice trigger, acceptable noise level, powerful, and accurate (after about 150 pellets).

    Things I would have changed:

Provide a better scope, iron sights, and a slightly darker finish on the stock as the stock is somewhat plain looking.

    What others should know:

I received my rifle on 24 May 2014. I have about 700 pellets through the rifle so far.

I almost hate to say it but, I haven't had any of the issues that some of the other purchasers have had. Although, I'm somewhat scared after reading all of the negative reviews.

I have been inspecting the rifle in detail with a magnifying glass after each session. So far so good. Perhaps the problem rifles are in a particular serial number range?

I've had the best accuracy with the Meisterkugeln 14.0gr and Crosman Premier Hollow point pellets both within a quarter size group at 25 meters.

I will admit that I've had some occasional flyers, but the majority on target.

The rifle is a bit heavy for me to shoot accurately off hand so sand bags and the artillery hold are a must for me. Regardless, the purpose of the rifle for me is target shooting and having fun. So far, I am pleased with this rifle.

If I have any issues, I will update my review and will definitely contact Crosman directly.

    Things I liked:

The gun started off shooting dime size groups at twenty yards long before any break in period and I was getting excited to see just how accurate it was going to get. The only complaint at that time was the scope, its a real piece of junk. Never was able to focus the crosshairs and the target at the same time so I replaced it with a fixed power scope. The trigger is nice for an air rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Almost everything at this point! Not only did I have to replace the scope but now after only about a 100 pellets, the gun will no longer cock. If I would have know all this I would have just spent the money on another RWS 48 and been $$$ ahead by the time you figure in the cost of a new scope and now having to package up and run to the post office. Unfortunately, now I have to wait to get back a marginal gun and wonder when it will go bad again.

    Things I liked:

just about everything. This the most accurate bk barrel rifle i have ever shot

    Things I would have changed:

better scope and fix prob with scope mount.i just sent it back for a replacement because the scope mount fell off. This seems like an ongoing prob with this model. This scope mount should be screwed into the barrel. If it wasn't for the scope mounting problem i would have given this rifle 5 stars

    What others should know:

i found that diabolo 18.13 gn pellets are super accurate.esp out to 50yds.You have to be careful when the rifle is cocked because the safety has to me manually set

    Things I liked:

The new gas piston seems to work as advertised

    Things I would have changed:

Fit and fittings. My rifle can with the shroud cracked and the damper or silencer was free to rotate I don't think it was put together like it should have.

    What others should know:

Very disappointed in Crosman. With all the hype and advertising on this rifle I thought this would have been just about perfect. I have returned this and ordered a different brand

    Things I liked:

I liked the trigger position relative to the grip. Nice bluing. Pyramyd Air was very understanding and my dealings on matters have always been pleasant.

    Things I would have changed:

Stock is pretty plain. Specs said checkered...Not! Looks cheap. Replace base of barrel cone behind silencer section with a metal one. Mine was cracked right out of the box. I had to send it back. I found out others are having the same problem.

    What others should know:

I really looked forward to shooting this rifle. I didn't get to fire a single shot, so I can't say how accuracy is but others I read are having problems. Too bad crosman cut a few corners on the make and materials. I hope they correct them and offer some recompense to the buyers who have purchased this air rifle. Assembled in USA? Too much China in this gun...

    Things I liked:

Since the gun didn't shoot, I really have nothing to report on what I like.

    Things I would have changed:

Make sure it works before selling it.

    What others should know:

When i first received the gun it would not cock. After several attempts, it finally cocked but then the trigger did not work. I called Crosman and they suggested I try adjusting the trigger. I ended up turning the trigger adjustment screw in about 2 or 3 full turns and it finally fired. But now I was back to the original problem of not cocking. I called Pyramyd Air and they were very congenial and sent me a return label with no hassles at all. Now I just have to wait for the guns to be back in stock and hope there QC has improved because I understand there have been quite a few issues with this gun so far.

im comparing this to my benjamin trail np. trigger is a little better but not much

    Things I would have changed:

give it less trigger pull make it quieter and easier to cock.

    What others should know:

ive tried several pellets and all seem to have about the same accuracy fair not great.my trail np was much more accurate and easier to cock, and my trail is much quieter.i geuss i was expecting to much.. if i had known i would not have purchased.. but thats my opine.

    Things I liked:

The New NP2 Cocking Effort is extremely smooth and light. the trigger has a well defined second stage with a crisp pull. With out a cleaning and with no break in period(less then 250 pellets) i have seen some solid potential. 20 yard groups are consistently under a US Quarter $0.25 size, Taken on only a slight star shape. I expect this to Greatly improve after cleaning and break in(1000 or so pellets) Using Crosman Premiere Pellets 14.4gr I get 850-875fps. A spread of 15-25 fps Per shot. again this is something that should tighten up and overall speed should settle and increase as breakin is completed. As in the Pervious version of the Gun I plan on using Jsb 18.1 Diabolos Pellets for grouping. The Scope is a less chunky then its predecessor shaving a lot of weight off but still maintain a very reliable scope. the Semi-Mil-DOT STYLE imperfect for this guns range (10-60 Yards) with all the confidence that this gun will stretch out to 100y plus)

    Things I would have changed:

Its really unfair to Point out Anything I would change with this gun at this Point. It has exceeded expectations on most if not all ground. Some of the Predecessors Metal Parts (trigger guard and a few internal holders and bracers )have been exchanged for composite material or plastic. Im not sure this is bad at all... it very well could aid the Ridgid impact of the Pistion keeping vibration down as well as shaving off weight. Again i think this is a plus

    What others should know:

With out a Cleaning or Break in this Gun is Delivering 23.7 FPE over and over only to increase after breaking . A very NICE UPGRADE to a Great Gun Line.

    Things I liked:

Quieter than my Trail NP. More velocity is a good thing.

    Things I would have changed:

Bundled scope is a 3-9x32 versus 3-9x40 with the Trail NP, thus a darker image. Clean Break Trigger is better than stock Trail NP trigger. But CBT still sucks and I've ordered a clean break trigger from Charlie Da Tuna. Couldn't get the stock to pull up tight to the piston housing even though the front screws were tight. Found metal turnings in the screw holes, cleaned it out, now the screws tighten the stock as it should be. Trail NP has an aluminum cone to cover the barrel shroud-to-barrel transition near the breech. The NP2 uses a cheap piece of plastic that looks like heat shrink tubing. Got the wood stock, a mistake, as the wood was splintered where the piston housing fits the stock near the breech end. Wood is really a cheap grade and finish is barely thick enough to give the cheap wood color. Scope rail is shorter than on the NP Trail so now you can't mount the scope as far back to get good eye relief at maximum scope magnification.

    What others should know:

Expect to have to replace the trigger as with the Trail NP. Don't buy the wood stock version as the wood easily splits. Scope rail is now welded at three locations where the Trail NP rail has a continuous weld along both of its continuous sides.

Crosman hyped the NP2 for it being quieter, which it is, higher velocity, and CBT. But the quite poor workmanship, cheaper scope, and CBT that's still crap make this gun a NO BUY relative to the Benjamin Trail NP with the synthetic stock and a GRT-III trigger.

Nice trigger, balanced well, easy to shoot.Didn't shoot it enough to really tell how accurate it was.

    Things I would have changed:

Scope and scope mount.I am another person who had my rail completely blow off after about 50 shots.Going back and do not want another one.

    What others should know:

These early ones seem to be very poor quality.

everything!!!! thing shoots like a 22cal target rifle i have shot close to a 1000 rounds through it with no prob, accuracy gets better everyday

    Things I would have changed:

we really need a better scope

    What others should know:

When new out of box run a brush with j-b bore cleaner through barrel about 15 times i found that this really helps with accuracy and barrel break in I have had great luck using diablo 18.13 gn pellets along with the benjiman 14 gn pellets

    Things I liked:

This rifle takes less effort to cock; The trigger pull is much better; it looks great. Noise level is not bad. Accuracy seemed pretty good, but I returned it before I could develop a final opinion.

    Things I would have changed:

It needs a much better scope. This scope and mounts is a waste. Could not get it to hold without shaking loose no matter how much I tightened the screws. This one had excessive barrel droop; measurable and noticeable. I returned it because of the excessive barrel droop and the poor scope and mounts/rings that won't hold the scope in place.

    What others should know:

I am waiting for my replacement NP2 .22 caliber because they are backordered. This time I ordered the "10 for $10" test and hope that Pyramydair will check for and catch defects and excess barrel droop before shipping, which should actually be done by Crosman. I also gave up on the cheap scope bundled with the rifle and ordered and received a nice Leapers 3-12x44 SWAT, IR, Compact version scope with substantial mounts/rings. I suggest you invest $10 and let PA check the rifle because it appears Crosman is letting all kinds of defects get by them.

    Things I liked:

Trigger was much improved over my Trail XL, ergo on the stock was better. For the few shots I got ir was a lot more accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

The barrel shroud seems a lot cheaper quality than the one on the XL. After about 25 shots the scope rail came off. Looks like it wasn't even welded on one side.

    What others should know:

Cocking, trigger, and accuracy were better as promised but poor quality control and finish compared to the XL.

    Things I liked:

Cocking effort is fine - I didn't find it difficult at all. Overall weight is acceptable to me for long-duration carry. After the weaver rail fell off (see below), I was at ~150 total shots (recommended 250 shots to break in), but decided to use the chrony anyway. Each group was 10 shots and measured at ~5 ft from the barrel. The results were: RWS Meisterkugeln (14.0 gr) - Avg FPS: 711 - Avg FPE 15.7 Crosman Premier Ultra Mag (14.3 gr) - Avg FPS: 689 - Avg FPE: 15.1. Beeman Kodiak Extra Heavy (21.14 gr) - Avg FPS: 570 - Avg FPE 15.3 As far as accuracy, my groups were very inconsistent and I was not able to achieve anything better than ~1.5" groups at 30 ft, and 3-4" groups at 60 ft. This may be due to a number of things to include: the rifle still being in it's break-in period, the faulty weld on the weaver rail (see below), and the low-quality scope in general. I plan to mount a new scope and examine accuracy in more detail as I expect (hope?) the current results are wrong.

    Things I would have changed:

Out of the box, the rifle required all of the mounting screws to be tightened - a lot. The main screw behind the trigger assembly was barely on and the stock was really wobbly in general. It was an easy fix to tighten these up, but it was a suspicious start. At ~150 shots, the weaver rail popped off. Interestingly, the NP series Weaver rail has full-length contact with the main housing, whereas the new NP2 splits this up into three small contact patches. It appears the contacts are welded, but it was done extremely poorly. I mixed up a bit of Loctite Epoxy and re-attached the weaver rail. 24 hours later the rail appears to be rock solid - we'll have to see how the epoxy holds up long term. The supplied scope does not achieve clear focus at any distance when set to 8-9x. At 3-7x, it is acceptable, but pretty much what you would expect for a bundled valued scope. If I decide to keep the rifle, I will replace it with the same RWS scope that I use on my other air rifles.

    What others should know:

I'll tell you where I sit before I tell you where I stand: I own 3 other air rifles, all RWS. I own may other firearms and I am an avid shooter. I appreciate the overall quality of the RWS springers, but was intrigued with the promise of the NP2 and wanted to try a nitro-piston rifle thinking it would be good fit for hunting on the ranch. I ordered it the day it became available with optimism.

I certainly didn't expect the NP2 to rival my RWS rifles in quality given its much lower price. I did expect the rifle to be well-built and dependable. Overall, I'm a bit disappointed with the NP2 - mostly just because it feels cheap. The QA issues are embarrassing - hopefully they will be corrected. It's not a bad rifle, it's just nothing great. In fairness, I have never owned an air rifle at this cost point before, so maybe the NP2 will be competitive in this class. That being said, I would defer purchasing this rifle until the weaver rail QA issue is resolved.

    Things I liked:

This is one nice fitting rifle. The comb aligns my eye perfectly with the scope. Good pull length. The barrel cocks easily with one hand. The action is super smooth. Well machined. Locks into place with a precise snap, and no play. Both stages of the trigger are smooth. No creep. No roughness. The first shot with a Crosman Premier 14.3 dome pellet registered 895 on the Chronograph. All I heard was the piston slamming home and the pellet hitting the target at 20 yards. It shot all the way through a 1" board. The impact seemed instantaneous, and was about three inches right and three down. It grouped well for shooting offhand. I think it will zero nicely. Rain has kept me from doing an accuracy test. The recoil was minimal. The shot just felt good. The stock is well fitted to the action, and smooth to the touch. All metal parts are nicely blued. I like the fittings for the sling. The scope and mounts are in my opinion a good match for the gun. Nice hunting rifle. Very pleased.

    Things I would have changed:

Nothing significant. I would like to see the stock stained a little darker to look more like walnut. The first few times I cocked the rifle I was gripping the outer tube a little too much and it moved slightly. I would like to see that a little tighter. Once I stopped gripping it, everything was fine. The stock has an odor like creosote. I'm hoping that goes away soon. Other than those minor issues, I wouldn't change a thing.

    What others should know:

The first few shots varied quite a bit in muzzle velocity, but it seemed to settle down after a short break-in period. It will probably improve with further use. After several shots it was averaging about 800+ fps with the 14.3 gr Premiers. With that much power, I expect excellent performance with heavier pellets. I ran a half dozen dry patches through the barrel before shooting.

    Things I liked:

Trigger was very smooth. Second stage pull was very crisp. Didnt get to fire many rounds but accuracy seemed quite good.

    Things I would have changed:

After only maybe 50 shots the weaver rail broke completely off the gun itself. The rail is basically just tack welded and I can't imagine it holding up for 100s of shots. After looking over the gun more thoroughly I noticed 3 cracks at the base of the barrel where it tapers to its narrowest point, right in front of breech. There was a white reside coming from the cracks that covered the barrel down to the sling mount. I really didnt notice a decrease in cocking effort or sound over previous NP guns.

    What others should know:

After calling PA they were quick to send a return label. Great customer service.

Fed Ex delivered the package undamaged - so the blatant defect that this brand new Benjamin Trail NP2 shows was not cause by by shipping. .

    Things I would have changed:

Quality control at the source of production or on the assembly line (I elaborate further in my rant und. My new NP2 arrived with a deep crack in the barrel near the breech connection you can wedge your fingernail in... and so very obvious I am bewildered as to how this went unnoticed. Do they use actual human beings to inspect their products at the Crosman assembly line in the USA?

    What others should know:

Ok... the details: I just received my Benjamin Trail NP2 today (5/28/14) after pre-ordering it quite a a few months back. It has an extremely obvious deep crack in the barrel right where it connects to the breech on the top left hand side. How this rifle ever left the assembly line so obviously damaged is beyond me especially considering this crack was deeply imbedded by the lovely white powdery residue left all over this rifle. This dusty white residue imbedded itself in the deep crack and immediately caught my attention - so it was most likely damaged in the manufacturing or assembly process where this residue came from. If the bright white powdery residue wasn't imbedded in the split/crack it would have been a bit harder to catch right off - so inspect your rifle very carefully if you ordered one. Needless to say I am very disappointed as I looked forward to this hyped up air rifle and have had no problems with my .22 cal Trail NP I've had for years with thousands of rounds fired.

    Things I liked:

This is a nice trigger. I'd say it's almost as nice as the trigger on my marauder. Maybe as I get used to it or adjust the settings I'll like the NP2 trigger even more. The cocking was easier than an NP XL by far. I've never used a first gen NP, so I can't compare to that. I also like the width of the stock's forend, but I do wonder if it's too wide for those with smaller hands. The best part though is that the overall firing cycle is so smooth. The recoil is very little and the gun is the quietest spring gun I've ever shot.

    Things I would have changed:

It's not light. But that's the way it goes with break barrels.

    What others should know:

I haven't cronographed this myself yet, but the pyramyd 10/10 test gave an average velocity of 863 ft/s with 11.9 grain RWS hobby pellets. That's good for just under 20 ft/lbs of energy. The gun is advertised for 26 ft/lbs. That sounds like a big difference, but I bet by trying a sampling of heavier pellets that the muzzle energy can come up several ft/lbs. 11.9 grain is fairly light for a 22 cal after all.

Also, I haven't been able test for accuracy yet, so I scored it a 5 as to not put any undeserved marks against the gun.
