    Things I liked:

The stock is solid and durable, and I like the feel of it. The brazed Picatinny Rail provides a secure scope platform, unlike the 11-mm dovetail, which in my experience cannot secure a scope on any air gun with a gas-piston power plant.

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger has the longest pull and the heaviest, mushiest release I have ever experienced on a weapon supposedly designed for accuracy.

    What others should know:

I don't know whether my purchase is typical of this airgun, but if it is, I would warn prospective buyers to stay away from this model at all costs. The scope mounts are made so poorly that reversing their orientation or changing their position on the scope shifts the average center of the shot pattern 3 to 5 inches at 25 feet! After a week of shooting, adjusting, tightening and Loc-Titing every thing I could find, I was never able to shoot a 10 shot group smaller than 4 to 6 inches from a bench rest at a distance of 25 feet! My RWS 350 Magnum .177 consistently shoots 10-shot groups I can cover with a dime at 25 YARDS! My Beeman RX1 and RX2 shoot even better, except no power I have discovered can keep a scope on them for more than a hundred shots! As an old Army ordnance officer, with a fair amount of small arms experience, I sincerely recommend against this product, based on the performance of my two samples of Crosman gas-piston airguns.

    Things I liked:

Very comfortable stock with excellent balance. After only 50 rounds I'm shooting dime sized groups at 40 yards with 14.3gr boxed CPD's from PA. The scope is acceptable but I see an upgrade in my near future. Artillery hold, death grip, benchrest, it doesn't seem to care. The appearance was what first attracted me to it, but it shoots even better than it looks. If you are on a budget, look no further...Crosman knocked this one outta the park.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope is acceptable and does what it is made to do, however, the focus is very sensitive and a little hard to tweak after adjusting power.

    What others should know:

Perhaps I just got lucky, I don't know...but if all of these rifles have a barrel like mine they are really on to something.

    Things I liked:

Stock is sized for an adult (large and a little heavy), which is good because the size and weight give it stability. I'm a lefty, so the ambidexterous stock was a nice touch. Stock is synthetic, which apparently helps absorb some of the noise. 3X9 Scope is not top-of-the-line, but it is adequate and much better than a 4X. I am still breaking it in, and I am getting 3/4" groups at 15 yards using Crosman Premier Ultra Mag domes. I cut my teeth on high powered rifles, and I am having a hard time getting used to the artillery hold. I automatically grip tightly and pull the stock into my shoulder. If I can overcome old habits, I think I can reduce the size of my groups even more. I will try RWS Hobbies and JSB Exacts after the rifle is completely broken in.

    Things I would have changed:

Put a set of sling swivels on the rifle. This would make it much easier to carry in the field. Also, the trigger acts like a single stage with a very LONG creep; it is adjustable however, and I will try to adjust the creep out of it later. The manual says the trigger will be fine for most shooters as it comes out of the box, but the factory trigger adjustment is a long way from ideal for me. The trigger pull is a little heavier than I prefer, but it is usable. Creep is the biggest problem.

    What others should know:

The rifle is very stiff at first, hard to cock and hard to return the barrel to shooting position, but it loosens up after 40 or 50 shots. It was also noisier than I expected, but this also seems to be diminishing with use. I bought this rifle in part because I thought Crosman made their own nitro piston rifles, but the action on this one is clearly marked MADE IN CHINA. A big disappointment there. However, the rifle is well made, and if the nitro piston holds up, it will probably last forever. It is dead-on accurate too.
