    Things I liked:

Great gun - getting better with every shot. I'm currently firing 10 pellets a day until the barrel is seasoned. Last 10yd. group of 10 covered with a nickle.

    Things I would have changed:

Quit publishing FPS with alloy pellets. Most serious 22'ers shoot 14.3 LEAD pellets or 16g. Predators. My Venom Dusk now averages around 750 FPS w/14.3 now after 200 shots.

    What others should know:

Take that Plastic Cocking handle off if you want better accuracy. If intereferes with the barrels crown.

    Things I liked:

Fit and finish seemed very well done for a Chinese manufacture; not all Chinese stuff is poorly done! There were only a couple of plastic flashings that were not properly trimmed away. Stock seemed well designed, and, as others have commented, it is designed for the Artillery Hold. The rifle does like to dance about in the firing cycle and it is well to allow it its lead. The Picatinny mount system was a solution to my usual problem with keeping a scope in place on a magnum springer. The Center Point light and laser mounted up well and compliment the rifle and its purpose as a nocternal racoon eliminator. It is adult size and the length of pull is about perfect for me. It is hefty and not for weaklings. It does well with the shooter having a bit of support when in battery.

    Things I would have changed:

The first and most commonly noted in reviews is the trigger. While I adapt to all kinds of triggers, this one is particularly long and coarse. I would not be opposed to Crosman doing a recall on that trigger! After the year's warrantee runs its course, I'll probably upgrade to a Charlie Da Tuna GT-III as most folks recommend. The scope mount, while secure on the Picatinny Rail, would be better with an elevation compensation capacity. The bane of all break barrels was present in my Nitro Venom Dusk; I ran out of elevation adjustment and had to shim the rear scope mount. It may be my particular rifle, but the breech could stand a bit of champher to expedite pellet insertion. This is particularly desirable for a night season rifle when one can't see the breech clearly. The Crosman Premier Hollow Points are tight to the breech in the light and require a Beman Pellset for accuracy. Slight champher of the breech can do much the same thing.

    What others should know:

Crosman has a winner here; quality at a very reasonable price. One will want to thoroughly CLEAN the barrel after a couple of hundred break in shots. Lots of rust and crud came out of mine at its first thorough cleaning. After the cleaning session, indeed, the rifle became smoother and the pellets inserted a little easier. The other observation is that this rifle is HEFTY. One really has to want to lift this rifle and use it. The weak either need not apply or need to find a muscular friend to hold it for one!

    Things I liked:

Power and smooth operation are evident. After thorough cleaning of bore, and lubing of the air chamber, the CNVD became a better shooter. Has a serious case of "barrel droop" that necessitated a scope shim, after that, it zeroed in. Weight of th epiece tends to buffer the recoils.

    Things I would have changed:

Adjustable scope mount for barrel droop a/o windage of the break barrel. Barrels should be cleaned and then lubed in China before shipment. More champher of the breech to make pellet insertion easier. The trigger is horrible. Long pull and coarse in action. Tends to have one pull of POA due to the lengh and resistance of the trigger.

    What others should know:

This piece takes a coule of hundred shots to break in and a thorough cleaning to get the rust and crud out of the barrel. Scope can be a problem to get adjusted. Lots of power and fairly good build ~ actually excellent for the money expended.

Over all velocity is 740 fps was a let down. The steel spring has more power if it matters. It dose to me.

    Things I liked:

Seems well made. Fit and finish is good except for one problem with the breech seal.

    Things I would have changed:

Breech seal caused barrel droop. Trigger is pretty smooth but a little long on travel. I have not adjusted yet, although some adjustment is possible. I cannot get the scope to focus at the higher magnification. Adjustment ring will not turn any farther in to make additional adjustments.

    What others should know:

I had a hard time sighting in the elevation. Gun always shot low. I used the carpenter level app on my phone and discovered that the barrel was pointing 1 degree downward from the compression chamber and scope. I discovered that the breech seal was seated a little crooked and did not allow the breech to completely close. I trimmed off the area of the seal that had been pinched and did a little sanding on the seal to smooth things up. Breech now seals completely and barrel may be off .1 degree now, which is acceptable. After fixing the seal the gun was very easy to sight in and easy to shoot on target. My son can hit a water bottle repeatedly from 25 yards now.

    Things I liked:

The Picatinny Rail is a "final solution" for scope creep. The Center Point scope, as supplied is functional and picks up the redlight of the Center Point light/laser Combo. The weight of the rifle is somewhat daunting but helps to damp the firing cycle by inertia. It does lead one to find a "supported" Artillery Hold, that is, something to rest the fore hand against to steady the piece. The black synthetic stock seems well designed. The fit and finish belie a Chinese manufacture (the Chinese are certainly capable of high quality work - one gets what one pays for).

    Things I would have changed:

The trigger! Crosman ought to work a deal with Charlie (Da Tuna) to retro fit these things. I'm normally able to adapt to different triggers, but this one is really a challenge! I wonder if a simple roller would help here at the contact point? A bit more attention to the flashings on the injection molded stock would be appreciated. There were a few raw edges left from the molder.

    What others should know:

An excellent introduction to a magnum level air rifle for the newbie and a worthy piece for the experienced shooter. I hope to dispatch some pesky marauding racoons with this "stealth rifle" who believe they can winter over in my attic. They are in for a nasty surprise. The Nitro Venom appears to have sufficient power to back up the implication of the red light dot on the forehead of those masked raiders (it shot right through the first side of a heavy galvanized garbage can. This rifle, despite the trigger, is worth the investment. Obtain one!

    Things I liked:

Smooth cocking, power, accuracy, price, style, balance in hands, nitro piston system

    Things I would have changed:

Scope is horrible, offer a better trigger, offer multiple scope options with air rifle purchase, pre clean the barrel before shipping.

    What others should know:

This rifle is deadly accurate, the power is just what you need for a. 177, the premier hollow point pellet and the polymags are a match made in heaven ffor this rifle. The reviews of this rifle that are negative has to be from deffective models or a competitor trying to slow sales. Ive shot over 500 pellets so far and haven't had a problem yet, i get plenty of dime size groups @ 50 yrds. You must clean the barrel as soon as you recieve it and get a better scope, my barrel was extremely dirty as if it was buried in dirt (seriously) i used about 10 cleaning patches. I put an $80 centerpoint scope on it that has an adjustable objective on it. Everything that was ever said about the scope is true, its horrible, once you zoom past the 3 magnification point everything is blury. CROSMAN STOP OFFERING THIS SCOPE WITH THIS FANTASTIC RIFLE, its like driving a corvette on 72 octane.

    Things I liked:

The best thing about crosman products is their customer service,as for the rifle I personally like the stock, some prefer wood though.I painted mine with drab,if you wipe it down with acetone paint sticks good.Nitro gas piston works well, low recoil, good stopping power and very good groups(tested up to about 50 yds.)I heard some people complain about the scope being blurry at max power,if you unscrew the cap at the exit end of the scope you can adjust that lens and sharpen the image.I complained about my scope and they sent me a new 3-9x40.Cocking effort is easy, its not too heavy,I bought bipods(barrel mount) they work great. As for the trigger, get a grt3,or if you have a welder, you can build up the sear and and form it to compensate for the long trigger squeeze, and still be adjustable. Some things mentioned in here will void warranty so make sure you got a good shooter before you start tacin it out and tuning etc.

    Things I would have changed:

    Trigger,scope

    What others should know:

I would highly recommend this rifle,if you have an issue with yours contact crosman they will square you away.

    Things I liked:

Seems that this is a solidly made piece and well finished. Shoots with authority judging by the fragmentation of the Crosman Hollow points in my bullet trap. It seems like this is a rifle that can be worked with and made more precise with time.

    Things I would have changed:

A little more attention to the flashing on the synthetic stock. Some raw edges left from the induction molding.

    What others should know:

Scope had to be really adjusted for elevation. Likely a barrel droop problem. Hope I don't run out of adjustment before reaching synergy of points of aim and impact!

Accuracy, take down power, simple mechanics. This is my first break barrel, and I already did my first tune.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope that the rifle comes with, and get your self a GRT3 trigger,or if you have a welder and some enginuity, you can reshape the sear to compensate for the long trigger squeeze and can still adjust the trigger to fit your shooting preference

    What others should know:

Crosman Customer service is dedicated to stisfied customers,if you have a problem contact the,and they will square you away. They have sent me 2 piston seals free, upon request(I like to have spare parts),then I dropped my scope took it appart, and found some damage due to MY neglegence, and they sent me a new one,BETTER than the one that came with the rifle. You cant go wrong with a crosman, but that is merely my opinion

    Things I liked:

The nitro piston tech is awesome.Good power and very accurate up to about 45 meters so far.I was in the middle of a reoad when my wife came outside to tell me talk, and I dry fired the rifle.I emailed crosman and told them what I did and would like to purchase a couple of piston seals, because I obviously damaged mine, and they sent them to me free. Then, clumsy me knocked my scope off my work bench, again,I told crosman what I did,and they sent me a new scope no charge,no exchange. That being said,Crosman cusomer support and staff are very curtious and forgiving,I am rough weapons and the rifle has proven itself

    Things I would have changed:

Maybe a scope up to 12x,but I am satisfied with this one and have no plans to replace it.Now the trigger, man, you gotta be kiddin me.I own a nice welder and spent a little time on the sear and the trigger is perfect, and still adjustable. Why they didnt produce them from the factory like this is beyond me.

    What others should know:

I love my rifle, its great IMO.Checkout GTAs' web site and educate yourself about the do's and dont's before you shoot your brand new break barrel,no matter which one you pick. This is my first, and the mechanics is simple,I did my first tune on this one, with alot of info on the web, which made it easy and fun. This is a good rifle to build on

Very smooth shooting gun and even smoother after you shoot bout 30 to 40 times. Light and also very accurate.

    Things I would have changed:

The scope after a while gets blurry and without a focus makes it a hard scope to shoot with at a maximum zoom. But nothing to worry about, just went and bought me another scope.

    What others should know:

Accurate and powerful smooth shooting gun and very worth what you pay for it.

    Things I liked:

The gun piston system is very powerful and much more solid feeling then a spring system. I can shoot at least 38 yards with powerful penetration of the target or more after the breakin is through. So far the scope has been a good match to the rifle.

    Things I would have changed:

Change the manual safety to auto on cocking. Too many people forget to reset the safety before cocking.

    What others should know:

The rifle will shoot erratic until the breakin is over. Trying to set the scope is spotty at best until then. Overall it is a good solid gun for the money and I am sold on gas pistons from now on.

    Things I liked:

Ok first off let me say i have owned and shot quite a few air guns growing up but I just recently got into adult air guns and i just got a big cat 1250 and a crosman storm xt both rate very well like this gun does but this one is by far the better of the 3 for one its a nitro piston which is great for hunting its a very solid gun accuracy is unmatched even with the more expensive guns also it looks slick and has a good weight and balanced feel to it. . Very accurate and extremely powerful for a .177 good for long distance shooting and small game. I am sure you could easily take down any back yard pests no problem.

    Things I would have changed:

the scope its blurry and doesnt do this bad ass gun justice also the trigger kinda sux well its not so bad really just gotta get the feel for it and always pull it from that same sweet spot and you will get dime sized groups at 30 yrds.

    What others should know:

Buy this gun you wont be disappointed I shot a rabbit at 30 yrds with crosman destroyers 7.9 grain. it entered right under its ear and the exit hole on the other side of its head was about the size of a 50 cent peice. the crosman destroyers 7.9 and JSB Match Diabolo Exact .177 Cal, 8.4 Grains, Domed seem to be the most accurate so far. Best air gun I have ever owned hands down.

    Things I liked:

During the initial break-in, the Nitro Venom was extremely loud and fairly inaccurate. After about 50 shots this corrected though, and it has been a very accurate and relatively quiet shooter. The ergonomics are nice, the stock scope is decent. It cocks easily and though it is on the heavier side, it isn't ridiculously heavy as some make it out to be.

    Things I would have changed:

The second stage of the trigger is heavy and long. Sling swivel mounts would also be very much appreciated. My only real problem with this airgun though is that it has been very prone to surface rust.

Of course as always the factory scope...changed mine out and got a little bit better accuracy but still not the grouping I would hope for...going to try a leapers scope and rings next

The price was right, after all discounts it was under $100.00. It pays to look for rebates and %%% off cupons. I like a heavy gun, stable in my hands and came up to point very well, was easy to sight in and the machined in weaver rail is a huge plus :)I have shot 400+ rounds of 7.5 gn through it and it shoots 1/2" five round groups at 50 yrds off my Lead Sled, Only time will tell how long the power plant will hould up.

    Things I would have changed:

Ordered a new Leapers Scope, and Charlie Da Tuna Trigger. Needs Sling provisions...If it had a better trigger and sling provisions it would have been five STARS... NUFF SAID :)

    Things I liked:

Right out of the box, this air rifle was accurate -- within the first 100 shots, it is already capabable of producing dime size groups at 10 yards shooting offhand with no rest or support! I was confident the gun would be "good" since I took advantage of Pyramid Air's "10 for 10$" service, but this is far better than expedted!

    Things I would have changed:

As with almost all Crosman air rifles, the trigger has an excessively long second stage, which adds an extra "challenge" to accurate shooting, but that was known in advance -- I only wish Crosman would improve on this trigger...

    What others should know:

The Nitro Venom represents a very good value, and delivers great performance, accuracy, and a lower than normal noise level.
