    Things I liked:

Great fun plinker. It's definitely a summer gun. I am using a weed eater string to push back on jams. Sometimes these are related to a pellet not being pushed in far enough other times the belt kind moves out of place and binds up. The weed eater line pushes things back in line. I can put the gun on safe and rotate the clip to make sure it's functioning with the trigger. Putting a couple drops of pelgun on the joints of the clip every now and then helps to.

    Things I would have changed:

    Nothing

    What others should know:

    Oil the clip.

Like the weapon. Magazine needs to be better.

The gun works quite well. No issues with it. I'm not impressed with the magazine. It seems to be rather flimsy. The mag that came with the gun wouldn't rotate very well and would jam. It also would skip several rounds. Fortunately I had bought 2 extra magazines and those seem to work better. As I said, the weapon itself works well as long as the magazine works properly. Also I've used 3 different pellets so far. RWS Meisterkugeln flat 7.0 gr., SIG AIR Match flat 7.71 gr. and JSB Exact Express dome 7.87 gr. The JSB seem to shoot the best so far. They grouped rather well or at least as well as a shaky old timers hand can do at 40 ft. If SIG could come up with a better design for the magazine, this weapon would be great.

    Things I liked:

The adjustable rear sight really makes a difference with this pistol. The magazine capacity is a plus too.

    Things I would have changed:

I don’t know how they could do it, but I would like to see the slide lock back when empty.

Looking for a Blowback Pellet Pistol ...This is it

I bought a Sig remanufactured X5 a couple months ago. So far I've put around 1200 rounds through it. Very happy with my decision. What really sold me is the adjustable rear sight. The cartridge loading system definitely helped and 20 round mag definitely helped too. The cartridge system is brilliantly simple and easy to use. The magazine ejects solidly. Being majority metal is a bonus ... plus it's good enough for Sig to put their name on it. When it comes to realism, a buddy of mine who's a Sig fan thought it was a real Legion, upon first seeing a picture of it. Currently I'm getting approximately 100 quality shots (20 yards max) per CO2 cartridge. When the blowback stops, that's about it, however you can still squeeze out some more low velocity shots by cocking the hammer for each shot. I shoot both right and left handed and it's just as comfortable in either hand, and an added bonus is it's ambidextrous safety (which locks and unlocks with no fuss). Ejecting the magazine one handed lefty can be done confidently.

Although I rated the X5 as excellent, it does have it's a few letdowns. The blowback is fairly short so it's not very prominent. The ejection port is only designed and doesn't show an opening when it slides. The slide is a bit loose, you can hear it rattle. The trigger takes some getting used too. It has a long pull. You can feel the difference where the pellet is staging point, and hear it too. It's not very powerful ... I'd guess it's around 350 fps max using lead 7.xx grain pellets. It's pickey when it comes to pellets. From my experience you're really limited to wadcutters to prevent it from jamming.

I've read where people are having issues loading the magazine, stating that the belt mechanics can get hung up ... I've found if you cover the openings on each side of the magazine with your fingers, you can move the belt system with the other, thus not allowing the belt not to get hung up.

I'd recommend purchasing extra magazines ... 20 shots goes faster than you'd think.

    Good pistol

I had own my x-five asp about three weeks and shoot with it about 1200 pellets. Only one jammed. And that just because i did not push it deep enought. Salesman said, that i can't use bigger than 4.50mm pellets, 4.52 i too big. Also i have noticed, that i can shoot fast only full co2-cartridges. Best way seems to shoot 6-7 pellet and take a little break.

    1 and out

Didn’t finish shooting one clip and the pistol jammed and clip broke trying to take it out.

    Way to heavy

It is way to heavy it will only function with premium pellets

    Air pistol.

I got this air pistol because it looks and feels so realistic. I'm very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship of this pistol.

    Shoots reliably so far!

While I do miss the last round hold open of my real pistols, this thing is a good time. Especially fun to shoot at empty tin cans, I've found this to be reliable, and fairly consistent to be shooting low velocity pellets.

    Things I liked:

The weight and flat trigger are the two pluses of this gun

    Things I would have changed:

If you are purchasing this weapon to practice for IDPA OR USPSA don't do it. The trigger is far too slow and makes it very difficult to get a rhythm set. Also the power is so low that you will have a difficult time hearing the pellet hit a steel plate

Nice concept that fails to deliver

I wonder how this product made it out of Sig. I own multiple sig firearms, the fit, finish and feel have always been top-notch. This air pistol doesn't fire consistently, can't zero and honestly is more of a pain than anything.

    Things I liked:

This gun has THE BEST C02 LOADING SYSTEM EVER. Just put the CO2 in and flip the lever closed. Fast, easy and works every time but sometimes the empty C02 cartridge gets stuck inside and takes some shaking to come out. ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS! why doesn't every air pistol have adjustable sights? (It costs the manufacturer money and reduces their profits. That's why.) If you buy a gun that hits 4 inches high and 5 inches to the right you should send it back as defective. Or just adjust the sights so they are on target. When I took my first shots the pellets were hitting way off but, thank you adjustable sights, I was able to sight it in so I hit where I aim. However, the rear sight is raised as high as it can go to hit the bullseye at 8 yards in my garage. The rear sight is also cranked waaaaay over to the right way off center and looks kinda funny off to one side. I like that there are no white dots on the sights. THE BUILD QUALITY is pretty good.

    Things I would have changed:

THE TRIGGER is heavy. Really heavy. As you pull the trigger it rotates the belt magazine and you can feel it working. I don't mind that at all. But once you've worked through that you hit a brick wall. It's a tough trigger to teach a beginner with. THE MAGAZINE gets stuck. I think maybe the pellets fall out and get stuck in the barrel mid cycle. All I know is that I need a rod with me at all times to poke the pellet back in when it jams. This happens about every other magazine. Also, it somehow leaves one or two pellets unfired in the magazine every time.

    What others should know:

I got this gun to replace my cybergun sig x-five open pistol which was a much, much better shooter. It was total garbage and broke in a catastrophic failure in under 500 shots but it was a blast to shoot. This one is not as fun to shoot. I've ended up not shooting it as much as I planned because it's just not fun. Who has fun clearing jams every other magazine.

Add explanation for de-cocking procedure to instruction manual or web page. No accuracy upon unboxing. Pistol should have been sighted in at factory.

    SIG EVER SINCE

    Dear SIG,
My first review but not the first Sig Sauer ever since the first X5p226 that only used bbs I've come to own 4 more since the first time I experienced the blowback feature I have been one if the loyalist of SIG SAUERS customers. I have only one issue that was maybe due to the a defective product but my very first X five had the problem of that real thin spring up in the slide tried to coming out after hours of trying to get somebody to from big 5 sporting to no avail amazingly enough since the spring was never going to be the same I pulled it out and got back to practice with jamming at a minimum and 8 years later I still have it even though I can't find the a replacement magazine to keep practicing.its still my favorite of all the Sig Sauer I've bought..thank you Sig Sauer.

1st mag load worked ok, on 4th shot of 2nd mag everything locked up...couldn't pull trigger, release mag or hammer... returned everything I bought...good customer service though...

    Things I would have changed:

Redesign g.j n it so it works....if you check the reviews there are many complaints similar to mine...I had hoped they'd fixed the problem...they haven't

    I love it.

I bought it a month ago and i love it but sometimes the the barrel and magazine is not aligned and the pellets jam between the barrel and magazine and its not possible to remove the magazine and the trigger is jammed. In this case, i push the pellets into the magazine with cleaning rod and it's ok.

    Things I liked:

Realistic feel, trigger is ok for the money. It is great for draw and shoot practice

    Things I would have changed:

Accuracy could be better. Pellet feeding is a little lacking. I had hoped to set up a little action pistol course but accuracy is lacking for precision shooting. I guess My expectations were unrealistic for this price point, I had read some reports that had my hopes up.

    What others should know:

The first one I got would not get more than 8-10 shots without a jam. The pellet would not properly feed into the barrel. I would have. To use a cleaning rod to push the pellet back into the mag in order to remove the mag. This first pistol's accuracy was horable!! I think the mis feeds damaged many pellets that did in fact feed and shoot. I had two other mags to try with the same results. I exchanged for another X-Five. Great service from PA, thank you for that. The new gun accuracy is much better although not what I was hoping for (3" group at 10 yards) so I'm disappointed in the accuracy, I have some other quality pistols and shoot reasonably well, my experience was not as good as the reports I have read. The new gun has only jammed about 3 times in about 300 shots. Be sure to have a dowel of soft metal cleaning rod to push Jamed pellets back into the mag, it gets stuck partially in the barrel and mag at the same time so the mag can't be removed.

fantastic gun - except the mag

I brought this gun a couple of weeks ago, I've probably put 200 rounds through it and its fantastic except the mag. it keeps jamming on me which is a problem, it would be good if there was an all metal mag upgrade which would most likely stop this problem.
    accurate gun and powerful.

  • Rating 4.04.0 4.0

Good, but could be great with just a little more

I bought this to train USPSA-- it feels very close to my X5 in my hand and shoots quite accurately if you keep your round count to about 50 shots per co2 cartridge. I accept the trigger mechanism on this isn't as crisp since it is mechanically moving the belt in the clip, sighting was good. I used a barrel laser to fine tune and added a Crimson Trace laser, pellets go where you aim them keeping round count to about 50.

I think SIG needs to include the precise barrel rod with the gun. I have put about 1000 rounds through and sure it has mis-fired about 10 or so times. Usually this is when I am pushing the round count to 60 but sometimes it can be anytime even on the first 20 on a fresh co2. Providing the rod to fix this would help alot since all it takes to fix it is to push the pellet back into the clip (and yes the clip may be jammed before you get the pellet back into it). Some instruction about how to do that would be helpful since often the belt is a little of center. I have it down to about a 2 second fix now.

The other potential issue is, again when the co2 gets low, it may not blow the hammer back and the gun won't fire (and its easy to assume its jammed, which it also could be). A fresh cartridge and manually cocking the hammer solves that issue. Two small things that with better documentation and a barrel rod would make this thing just great.

It's a total hoot having a tactical course in my backyard.
