    Things I liked:

The rifle. I have always been a fan of the M1 Carbine (the real thing), so I finally ordered the Springfield version, which came last weekend, and it does look like the real thing. I've had a Crosman version for years and well, it only has a vague appearance of the M1. I opted for the wood stock on this one; it just looks better. It is a walnut-stained softer hard wood, perhaps Alder, but looks good. Yes, the M1 bayonet does fit on this Springfield replica. The barrel mount was a bit thick and had to be filed a little. I used curved rifle files for the job then touched it up with a black permanent marker. BUT I have seen the real M1 rifle need the same adjustment.

    Things I would have changed:

#1. At least two good and tested magazines in the box, not just the one. And make sure they function! #2. Make the magazine follower out of metal, plastic does not seem to be up to the job. #3. Chamfer the BB loading port to make it easier to load.

    What others should know:

My boys and I have already given it a good work out, the rifle has worked quite nicely. The Magazines, not so much. I ordered an extra one and they both stink. Both mags were unpackaged and placed on the bench so not sure which came with the rifle, and which was the extra. One leaked profusely with a pinched / torn O ring in the valve assembly and had to be replaced, the other had a broken follower and could not be loaded. (There are a lot of complaints about the follower.) I machined a new follower out of metal; why they use plastic for this part is beyond me. Loading the BBs was not easy, if they were not placed directly in the hole, they rolled away, so I chamfered the BB port about 45 deg which made it much easier to get the BBs in the loading port.

    Things I liked:

Nice weight and balance. Accuracy was very good for a smoothbore! Repro slings and oilers for real one fit. Got about 52 shots per fill of 12g Co2 capsule. Faux wood stock looks great!

    Things I would have changed:

The wood stock shouldn't cost $100 more.

    What others should know:

Make sure you put a drop of Pellgun Oil on the tip of every Co2 capsule to keep seals lubed!

    Things I liked:

I love this gun. I have a real one, and side by side it is hard to tell the difference until you open the breech or pick up a magazine. I started buying these replicas to hang up in the den. Also, I wanted to mess around with optics and see how I liked them on this before I invested in something for the .30 carbine. I just love shooting it when the magazines work. I have a red dot mounted and the upper hand guard mount is solid. I did remove the fake elevation ramp and installed a real one using the original sight frame and windage adjustment screw. That necessitated filing down the front sight for zeroing. Aided and unaided it shoots well. I only shoot 2 clips out of a CO2 cartridge.

    Things I would have changed:

The magazines. I despise the magazines. They are the Achilles heel of this gun. Pyramid Air has sent replacements. I suggest keep sending them back till you get some that work. I wish they would do the design better. They could make a 30 round mag that takes two CO2 cartridges.

    What others should know:

I replaced the magazine air valve o rings with o rings from tractor supply. Keep Dust Devils away from this gun. The cartridge piercing seal is contemptuous. PA sells the upper handguard scope mount and it installs tight, but does not come with directions. You need to look at things and think it through before loosing your temper and passing judgement. Once you get the handguard off, there is a barrel band that needs to be removed for the rail to sit flush and screwed down. It fits tight and solid on mine. I think I am going to look for one for the .30 carbine and the mini 14 as well now I have tried this platform on the bb gun. The front sight has a set screw that comes loose requiring loctite.

    Things I liked:

I am very impressed with this carbine I received today. I had ordered then returned a synthetic version from another supplier and returned the next day. Then found this wood stock version for almost 50 bucks less. And the quality is so much better. I recommend this model with real wood if you can afford it. Pyramid Air makes more possible. Very happy indeed!

    Things I would have changed:

One thing only. Modify after market magazines so they allow the slide to stay open after the last shot.

    What others should know:

I really did the research on this piece. And it is worth the money. If you purchase real wood from pyramid.

    Things I liked:

I purchased the wood stock M1.. I wanted a very authentic looking rifle. The stock is beech wood. Very utilitarian in appearance which what a real M1 carbine is. The picture on the nice box looks a lot better then the rifle you get. But that is the same with everything. When was the last time you got a Big Mac that looked like the picture of it does? I am sure the faux wood stock looks a lot better. I might even purchase one of those next. I will buy a sling, oiler and magazine pouch for it. I have a bayonet for it but have not tried to see if it would fit yet. Is the wood stock worth an extra $100 bucks. I don't think so.. Maybe a $50 upgrade but I wanted an authentic look and feel. Anyway I am glad I bought it and added it to the collection which will be passed on to the kids and grandkids.

    Things I would have changed:

The box comes with a spot for an extended mag but no extended mag. Do they make one? Make the carbine able to accept a real bayonet. Maybe pay a bit more attention to the wood they use. I am a cabinet/furniture maker and wood is very important to me in fit and finish. Make the rear sight adjustable for elevation. I mean at the price of the rifle its something they should do. So a true bayonet lug, a bit more attention to the finish of the wood stock and elevation adjustable rear sight and that is about it.. Plus that extended mag if it exists.

    What others should know:

All in all, not bad, nice box and presentation. Really give some thought as to dropping the extra money for a wood stock. To me it's a once in a lifetime purchase so I bought it but I would not mind owning the faux wood one either. Get the sling and oiler and pouch for it.. Amazon has them for $30 total.. also a canvas cover for it another $30, a fleece lined one for $34.. Pyramyd Air did a good job with fast shipping and packaging as always.

    Things I liked:

I love this plinker! Unfortunately I found it's weakness after about 4 Co2 cartridges. You guessed it, the broken magazine follower. Pyramyd took care of me and I got the replacement magazine today. After studying the follower I came to the conclusion that it most likely broke after slipping out of the retaining notch and slamming into the top of the magazine. I hopefully came up with something to prevent that from happening. I used a thin hardwood dowel with a rounded metal finial to push the magazine follower down and easily into the notch. I then made a 1/8" thick and 1" square piece of hardwood with 1/8" notches on the edges to keep the follower from slipping out of its notch.

    Things I would have changed:

The dang magazine! I will post some pictures of my improvements when I am allowed to.

    What others should know:

I love shooting this airgun. It's much more accurate than I expected. Take it easy on the magazine and hopefully I/ we will be having a blast for a long time!

Extend the warranty and offer repairs and parts for money after 90 days is up

    What others should know:

If it breaks after 90 days, you're out of luck, period! I bought this rifle from Midway in late May 2021, then later spent another $100 on the wood stock from PA. After about 120 days, the blowback function ceased to operate, rendering the rifle unusable. Midway referred me to Air Venturi, and they sent back this message: "I apologize, we dont service the rifles after 90 days due to labor cost vs rifle cost, as well as we dont carry any parts at this time. If you would like to attempt some type of work I have included the schematic." So I am left with a $300 wall hanger after only 4 months of operation. I'm extremely disappointed with Midway and Air Venturi for not standing behind their expensive product, even refusing to repair it for money or supply parts. A great gun while it lasted - that's why I'm giving it 2 stars instead of none.

    Things I liked:

I went with the wood version and it really looks great. The blowback action is really good. The carbine has a nice heft and feels a lot like the real M1 Carbine I have in my collection. This one is well done!

    Things I would have changed:

It would be better if it was available as the M2! There's nothing like fully auto! Also, a larger 30 round clip would be awesome.

    What others should know:

It is fun to shoot. You might want to get more than the included magazine. Not sure why yet but I did experience a few jams where the bb failed to feed for some reason.
